Star Trek 3 Begins Filming in... (Article) - 9/18/2014 1:08:21 PM

So, what are we going to have now, a rehash of Star Trek IV maybe?   How about we re-write Nemesis?  See if we can make that into a better Movie/Story.

If it ain't big, then why show it on the big screen?

Dredd Prequel? Not Sequel? (Article) - 9/8/2014 10:22:05 AM

I took the day off and the wife and I went to see Dredd when it came out.  Besides one other couple we were the only people in the theater. In the balcony with full restraunt service to our seat.

I spent $100 between tickets, food, and beer.  In my humble opinion, it was the best $100 I ever spent on a movie.

We loved it.  Urban can play Dredd forever as far as I'm concerned.  Any story he wants to do, DO IT.  I don't care if it's Dredd passes a stone.  We'll watch it.

Having said that.  The first scenes with Stallone in Judge Dredd were awesome.  Sly had the look.  He could carry it behind that mask.

Sadly, after he meets Rob Schneider, it's all down hill from there.  There were a lot of great people in the right parts in that movie.  It's a shame that it sucked so hard.

The Summer of '84: Sheena (Article) - 8/19/2014 4:20:53 AM

Before internet and widespread porn access or dirtty magazines, my seven year old self would touch himself thinking of Tanya Roberts as Sheena.

Okay, I was probably 8 before this popped up on HBO.  Seriously, like a Brittney Spears video it was better with the sound off.

Mania Review: Godzilla (Article) - 5/16/2014 5:42:46 AM

It ain't a Godzila film without cheesy human parts.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Beginning of the End Review (Article) - 5/14/2014 11:04:00 PM

 More like an extended synopsis.

Each to his/her own though.

I will go with a B rating for this episode in whatever variant it comes in.  This was definetly a "B" episode as in a "B" movie.

Jackson pretty much just casually walks on and off the episode without any hurry or purpose.  Seriously, he's almost bored by the things going on and it kind of takes the suspense or danger out of Garrett, which lends itself well to the last shot of Garrett in tone, but you'd think you'd want some escalation of danger near the end to give the scene tension and you have Coulson and Fury chatting about what a nutjob Garrett has become while Garrett is ranting and raving?

I mean an offhand comment is expected, but Fury and Colsoun were like a couple of adults ignoring a child throwing a temper tantrum.  Considering how powerful Garrett is supposed to be that just kind of yanks me out of my suspension of disbelief and is a bit jarring.

Orci for Star Trek 3? (Article) - 5/12/2014 8:15:21 AM

Orci might get Trek, but the crap that was wrong with Into Darkness was his fault and any other writers that worked on it.  Screw this guy.  He sucks a big bag of cocks.

The Spring of '84: Breakin' (Article) - 5/7/2014 11:15:25 PM

Chris McDonald was young and Lucinda Dickey is hot.  The acting sucked, the dancing was unbelievable and I was going to make a comment about this movie being proof of the existence of the 'gay mafia' but it was the 80's and well, it was an odd effeminate era.

Honestly, I have no idea why equalitiy and marriage took so long for the gay community, it seems to me to get over the protests of the unwilling, you probably could have just dug up their pics from this era and said something like..."so you don't support my right to marry yet you walked around with long large teased hair, eye liner and earrings?  You have no right to jump on anyone about their sexuality."

Sorry.  It was a fun era and I love it and I love reliving it a little.  I was seven when this movie came out and loved it and it's very cheesy sequel.

Game of Thrones: The Laws of Gods and Men Preview (Article) - 5/5/2014 11:17:40 AM

After watching Sansa get torn apart by those living trees in the last episode, who wants to spoil the next one?

Sherlock Season 4 Release Date (Article) - 5/5/2014 6:51:06 AM

Well, how about early 2016, like new years day at least?  That would be cool.

Has someone said "No shit Sherlock" yet?  Have Watson do that.  That'd be great.

Could Hiddleston maybe play the younger, super intelligent, not so uptight brother?  Or maybe he's Moriarty's brother, Jackie.
