BENJI Reboot Coming (Article) - 12/2/2010 9:54:18 AM

While I'm not a big fan of reboots, this is actually a project that could elevate the game of its predecessor. We now know so much more about dogs that this movie could actually be educational (as opposed to just "adorable," as was the original series).

If nothing else, this movie could help teach people to develop healthier relationships with their pets (some people are horders, some abusers and some borderline-psychotic lovers of their pets). On top of that, modern cinematography (and color correction technology) could make this a downright gorgeous cinematic experiment.

Kirbys Win Round Against Marvel (Article) - 12/1/2010 10:50:51 AM

As far as Marvel TV goes, I also hope they consider bringing Marvel Age to the small screen. It could a 1/2 hour comic version of Entertainment Tonight, and could feature all of their emreging content while providing features on their in-house talent (further evolving Stan Lee's prior innovation of giving credit to the creative staff). Heck, they could even:

  1. Showcase popular online mash-ups (and similar amatuer projects featuring their characters).
  2. Involve some their retired creative staff who've often "fallen off of the map," so to speak.
  3. Highlight exhibitors (shop owners) they like.
  4. Have special segments making use of the Bullpen's stock footage.
  5. Be filmed for minimal cost at Disney's Orlando studio.
  6. Include targeted (and relevant) cameos from Pixar and Imagineering staff.
  7. Give Disney some quick and affordable new content that coul dbe moved to other media.

Considering the volume of print stories we see online, a 22-minute, once-a-week show could be pulled-off rather easily.

10 Thor Movie Cameos We'd Like to See (Article) - 12/1/2010 10:33:33 AM

Nice article, Chad.

However, I'd like to mention that there's a "rumor" that there will a Don Blake reference in the movie...

First HOP Trailer Kicks In (Article) - 11/24/2010 9:49:21 AM

Should be "cute" enough for families...

Winnie the Pooh Teaser Hits (Article) - 11/12/2010 9:52:25 PM

Pekstrand... I agree with you, in regard to Princess and the Frog. Beyond box office, there were numerous related products Disney sold through ancillary markets. Also; Disney was about to come up with a new character that they'll continue to use on multiple platforms for at least another 10 years. When it comes to many of their films, Disney just uses a different business model than much of their competition.

Regarding Winnie the Pooh... it's good to hear these characters will be back on screen. So then, is it safe to assume that they won't be part of the upcoming Favreau-directed project?

TRANSFORMERS 3 Rolls Up on NASA (Article) - 11/3/2010 7:48:43 AM

Transformers 3 is doing an excellent job of connecting with various communities throughout the US... and I suspect this is going to help with its eventual box office.

Robert Downey, Jr. is doing what most of us would do, were we in his position. Enjoying the moments that this experience offers. Hopefully, his fellow Avengers creatives will also realize the value of the opportunity they have.

Shyamalan Plans THOUSAND A.E. (Article) - 10/26/2010 6:12:38 PM

Guts... LOL.

Shyamalan Plans THOUSAND A.E. (Article) - 10/24/2010 5:40:15 PM

Caveman... when you refer to a youth as a "no talent 12 year old kid," that would constitute "slamming." Unless you consider that to be some twisted form of toughlove, of course.

Guts... would you not agree that Hollywood has had "personalites" as long as its had stars--- and that the presence of cinematic personalities isn't really a new development in this current stage of film history?

Todd... in accord with what Will Smith "is," what types of roles would be appropriate for him to portray? Additionally, what types of behaviors and acts do you deem as the exclusive domain of white males?

Shyamalan Plans THOUSAND A.E. (Article) - 10/22/2010 4:25:51 PM

I'm with you, FerretJohn.

It's bad enough that some people have to be anti-"Everything"-Will-Smith, but slamming a 12-year-old kid actor is just shameful.

First UNKNOWN Trailer Hits (Article) - 10/22/2010 4:22:24 PM

Violator... the guy who trained Batman, was a Jedi master and stood toe-to-toe with King Arthur. They're going to take his wife? I don't think so.

The movie has what looks to be a great premise, and will probably recoup its budget during the first weekend of release...
