Though a cyborg like Robocop, the quick, agile and networked Deathlok could provide fresh new territory for a film. This would be especially so if he were given a worthwhile advresary. The larger problem, I suspect, would be making him "necessary" in a cinematic universe that has the Downey, Jr. version of Iron Man as its linchpin...
Monkeyfoot... Captian Caveman wasn't too "super." You see how he couldn't even take the lead role among his team on the Laff-A-Lympics...
Littlemikey... you hit the nail on the head. It's great to see the Rock back in action movie mode.
This looks good, but I'm starting to understand why Disney let this property get away. I'm thinking they're more interested in working with properties that will allow them to move the characters between different media. As Walden Media isn't going to let these characters go anywhere, Deisney was probably better off investing their energies in projects that would yield them more cross-platform capitol. Walden Media, on the other hand, has a property that can thrive on its own, regardless.
Kara... I share your concerns about the potential direction in which this project could go. However, I think that Disney could easily stay true to the background of the story (the Magic Kingdom), while being innovative in the design of the characters for the story...
RIP, Mr. Cannell.
For a variety of reasons, I think Comic-Con can continue to work in th eSan Diego setting. So, this is good news, as their 40-year tradition should basically remain intact...
Whatever they do, it needs to truly be high concept...
Redvector... they could also use the some of the office from the first one (he's an actor, as well)...

RantMaster... it's probably a "bot" (or an automated program). Something about the code for the comments area of Mania has made it vulnerable to such things for quite some time--- though I've never seen a discussion page get this bad.
Until something happens to improve the security for the discussion areas of Mania (maybe forcing us to type in a temporary passcode, each time?) I only see this getting worse...
