NARNIA writers join CAPTAIN AMERICA - Nov 20, 2008 - 06:29pm
Personally I always thought whilst I enjoyed the books, there were light on character for a 2hour movie, and i thought the screenwriters did a decent job of filling out the characters for LWW. Caspian did suffer from being even lighter in the book, most of it takes place in a story to the kids. I dunno, could be worse, but I like Joe for the director(I enjoyed JP3 for what it was and Jumanji was fun, and the Rocketeer is beyond awesome).Brubaker should be writing this though! Ken Brannagh for Thor is an interesting choice, I just hope he brings his Henry V game to it!
THOR writer approves of Branagh - Oct 05, 2008 - 01:38am
I think Ken's a great choice. Thor is a different kind of superhero to the rest of the avengers. All but Thor get their powers from a science basis, Thor is purely magic, a medieval feel, lots of intrigue and Shakespearian shenanigans. Ken's done a great job interpreting those kinds of stories for a current generation and there's no reason he couldn't do the same here.
As for casting, I vote Brad Beyer, of Jericho fame. He's got the size and build, suitable for either Cap or Thor (both big blonde dudes).

Favreau talks about IRON MAN 2 and AVENGERS - Oct 02, 2008 - 04:20pm
How about Black widow, trying to cosy on up to Stark for russian espionage, only to get converted and end up in the avengers. I think they need a couple of women in that flick. Maybe the Wasp was already slated to be in it, but they could push it a little further. Okay so she was the only member who was there from the start, but they've had a long list of women in their roster now.
Will Smith is the New CAPTAIN AMERICA? - Sep 08, 2008 - 06:42pm
Brad Beyer for Cap. The big farm dude from jericho. He is such a better fit than Will and Brad Pitt. Will won't work just because of the times Cap was created, like bryzarro stated. I could never see Brad Pitt as Cap, he was too wirey for me. Beyer is a big man and built heavily, kind of how I see Supes too.
New Viral DARK KNIGHT Poster - Jul 01, 2008 - 11:04pm
Talking about female Batfolk, anyone else picked up on Melinda McGraw as Barbara? Seems a bit old for me, I can only assume Batgirl isn't going to be a part of this universe. http://uk.imdb.com/name/nm0569927/
The Manic Maniac: Why We Want to Believe in E.T. - Jun 19, 2008 - 09:08pm
As far as not picking up radio signals goes, we've only been able to broadcast radio for 100 years, less than that to be able to pick up signals from space. We're already developing communication methods which may not need to utilize radio, such as entangled photons. Who know what new and interesting ways we might communicate. Hence if we're going to pick up some signals, they might be in a very narrow time frame as an alien race goes from no radio to radio to non radio communication. If we conquered space would we seed it with millenniums lasting broadcasting emitters, in the hope that some other race would pick up the signals and come to find us? How many would we need? Would we use a star as the broadcasting source, and make it repeat a fast cyclic beam as a waypoint or beacon?
When it comes to alien physiology, there's a wide variety of life on earth, so pretty much anything is possible, but as far as space faring aliens go, that starts to cut down the likelihood of certain features in a space fairing race. The ability to build craft for one? I would imagine it needs a skeletal system, sensory organs, finely manipulatable limbs. Insects aren't intelligent, but maybe there are reasons there are no intelligent insects. A base line weight for an intelligence base might need more support than an exoskeleton can scale up to without collapsing under its own weight. Octopuses are reasonable intelligent, have the ability to manipulate their surroundings and have more efficient eyes than we do. Why haven't they taken off for the stars? Salt water corrodes a lot of useful materials, suggesting we need to build on dry land. Octopuses need the water to support their mass so probably we're not going to see them in space ships, though they might be more suited once they're up there...
GTA IV Actors Complain on Salaries - May 22, 2008 - 04:39pm
$100,000 for 15 months. $80,000 for a years work on one of the best selling games of all time. This is when Tom Cruise earns 10million a film for what he does, working for what, 4 months? 6? It's an alright sum, but not even remotely comparable to TC's paycheck. I bet even the minor speaking parts in a TC movie get about the same as the lead roles in GTA. Maybe they aren't worth 10 mill, but it's gotta be better than 40,000 pounds....
"Wolverine: #49" - Dec 22, 2006 - 05:37am
Oh come on, Christians have never been terrorists? What about the IRA? The other dozen or so terrorist organizations in Northern Ireland on both sides of the conflict? James Charles Kopp's shooting of an abortion doctor? Christian Identity? That organization even has Christian in the title... Bit of a giveaway that! Or are you going to say that 'They weren't true Christians'. Well Muslims say that about Muslim terrorists too! Every faction in the world has it's own believers which espouse violence over reason, even Buddhists. The writer probably picked Christians as Christmas is a Christian festival...
