Michael Bay is planning Vanilla Ice for the role of He-Man.

DVD Shopping Bag: Man of Steel Dilemma (Article) - 11/12/2013 8:34:35 AM

I do not have a problem with Superman killing, I just think they pulled that card way too early considering this was a reboot.

Correct me if I am wrong, but for these are the main character traits and storylines for Superman.

1. He is an alien from another planet that is never fully accepted by those he want to protect...humans, this leaves him feeling alone, despite his best efforts be a symbol for humanity and do what he believes to be the greater good.

2. The greater good does not involve killing, Superman does not need to resort to killing as he is so powerful he can usually defuse any situation with his near infinite power. Because of his near infinite power, he needs to constantly keep himself in check or he could snap and destroy everything, especially on earth, where he is more or less a god among men.

3. This brings up the question of morality and whether everything he does is really good or not, since he later becomes a totalitarian ruler on earth and his presence and actions are heavily questioned, especially by Batman, a mortal man.

I actually think they could have made a trilogy touching on those 3 points alone in each of the movies, but it seems like they wanted to rush ahead which left for poor character development on Superman's part and they are already introducing a new Batman? I really think Zack Snyder is an excellent director, but this just does not feel right at all. Sorry.

Bad story, great visuals and music though! :)

Mania Review: Thor: The Dark World (Article) - 11/9/2013 6:51:04 AM

 SPOILER QUESTION

It was hard to tell as the scene was quite fast on initial viewing, but did Darcy's Intern Ian protect her by lifting up a car or large part of debris? After this moment, did his accent also sound a lot more British?

I immediately then thought that was a clever way to introduce Captain Britain! Which would make sense as he part of the Secret Avengers/Excalibur and was perhaps sent by SHIELD to spy on Jane, Darcy, he seemed to spot Erik Selvig on TV rather easily, pretty sharp for an intern! Captain Britain is also a physicist if I remember correctly.

His name in the credits is Ian Boothby, Captain Britain's name is Brian Braddock, sounds a bit similar.

I found no information about any marvel character named Ian Boothby or Captain Britain in Thor at all.

Am I the only one who caught this?! Or am I imagining all this?!

Mangold for Another Wolverine? (Article) - 11/6/2013 5:54:10 PM

How about getting deeper into the healing factor and slow aging/time working against you by confronting him with characters who suffer because of this, such as Deadpool and Cable? Apocalypse as the Villain.

Or maybe bring this one back to Canada, have Wolverine take on Wendigo, with Spider-Man similar to the McFarlane storyline. Since we are in Canada, how about adding some Alpha Flight characters?

Ford on Blade Runner 2 (Article) - 10/9/2013 6:28:15 PM

Please DO NOT make a Blade Runner sequel! It is a complete masterpiece.

If the studio wants cash from the Blade Runner franchise, they should just keep releasing updated versions for personal enjoyment, new generations are still discovering this film and Blade Runner is inspiring them in the same way since the original home release.

They are getting the writer from Green Lantern to create a screenplay? Since when was the Green Lantern such a deep philosophical film? This sounds just as bad as getting the writer from Lost to write Prometheus.

There is a big difference to Alien and Blade Runner and why sequels make sense and why they do not.

The questions raised in Alien are unresolved plotlines that can only be answered with other films.

The questions raised in Blade Runner can only be answered by the viewer...

10 Choices for a Marvel Female Superhero Film (Article) - 9/30/2013 4:05:16 PM

I tried to think of other interesting marvel female characters and this who I can remember...

Meggan - dynamic and powerful character in terms of abilities, in terms of character I am not sure?

Nova (Frankie Raye) - Herald of Galactus, I actually just want to see Galactus and Silver Surfer on film.

She-Hulk - Is she interesting enough for her own film?

Ms Marvel - Seems like the most obvious and interesting marvel female character, would be a good way to introduce the Kree.

The other conclusion I came to is DC really needs to get it together as they have far more interesting female characters than Marvel, off the top of my head...

Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Powergirl, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Black Canary, Zatanna...
