I can't help but wonder how much, if any, direct links to future Marvel Studios films may be in this series.  A movie does need to be able to stand on it's own of course, but it would be great if a character were to be heavily fleshed out on Agents of SHIELD before he/she is introduced into the movie universe.  With only two hours, details are always mostly implied.  A movie could do the usual implications about a character, while the series delves deep.

Someone like Warbird/Ms. Marvel would be a perfect example of someone to start out on TV with an origin, and move to film for the big budget action and visual FX that the character calls for.

I think it's going to be great.  Having regular, albeit highly trained, special agents take on super-powered, super villains in a live-action franchise I think is actually a pretty refreshing take for television (not counting shows like Fringe or X-Files which are FBI agents battling human freak shows).  I'm talking bad-a$$ SUPERVILLAINS.  I will wet my pants if we get the odd cameo from the likes of RDJ, Chris Pine, Samuel Jackson, Scarlett, and Ruffalo....

Modo, I don't think Captain Kirk will be appearing in a the show:)

They said Cobie Smulders will be making cameo appearances as Agent Maria Hill in the series.

Thanks Miniwheat.  I did indeed mean Chris Evans...maybe the Agents producers can throw the Shat in there for a guest role as a superpowered villain who sings people to death...

I don't watch a helluva lot of TV these days, but I will be watching this. It will be a nice break from watching Syria coverage.

cobie isnt just making cameo appearances. she is a recurring character.

It makes sense that Smulders will be a recurring character since How I Met Your Mother is winding down. Can't wait for this show to premiere.
