Haha!  Put your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye because you are FU**ED!

I think this is going to be awesome.

Claustrophobia in space, running out of oxygen, the tension and fear, hopelessness of the situation, do you give in, open your suit and and invite instant death. Or do you cling to that bit of hope and slim to none chance of survival in the hopes of seeing your family again and living.

I've been looking forward to this for 2 years and the fact that it's in space and seems possible makes it all that more terrifying.

IMAX 3D for sure on this.  Minds will be blown with the long shots in this movie.  Yeaaah buddy!

Basher Savage?  At least now I know what to tell the judge when he asks me what I want to legally change my name to...

Ray Bradbury wrote this 62 years ago, "Kalidoscope", a short story from "The Illustrated Man".  When did his works become public domain to flush down the crapper?

I think this is great.

(In a Don La Fontaine voice) "In a world where every genre picture uses almost the same elements over and over again, a film comes out that has (BOOM) a story (BOOM) that's (BOOM) completely (BOOM) new!!! (BOOM)"

I don't know about the Bradbury story. I don't know if this is taking the exact same story elements or has its own ideas. If its original, the idea of a stranded astronaut isn't copyrighted, just like a movie about a cocky cop who shots and blows things up and gets yelled at by his boss. But this story has been done in movies since probably Marooned from the 70s. And with a master filmmaker at it in 3D this oughta be really good.

Wiseguy 5/10/2013 7:30:09 AM

The Bradbury short is about a group of astronauts all sent spiraling in different  directions and their last words to each  other and how each accepted their coming end. It's cool

but I have always said "so fucking what". People can have similar ideas or even if it's inspired by this since we're all inspired by what we've read or seen it don't matter IMO.

I always care about the final product more than the origin of the product. Let the lawyers fight it out over whose idea it is.

Cuaron is a great filmmaker.  This looks exciting and scary.  Remember how Jon Favreau dies in Deep Impact, getting flung into space by a gas jet.  I remember thinking that would be the scariest way to die.  Knowing that you are going to slowly suffocate to death all alone in space.
