Here is the second trailer for Walt Disney’s Maleficent. As trailers go it certainly doesn’t pack any punch. It also appears to be heavy with CGI. Hopefully a better trailer will arrive soon.

Synopsis: From Disney comes “Maleficent”—the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the 1959 classic “Sleeping Beauty.” A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.
Maleficent,” the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the 1959 classic “Sleeping Beauty,” reveals the events that hardened Maleficent’s heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora.
MALEFICENT features Angelina Jolie, Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, Lesley Manville. The screenplay is by Linda Woolverton and it is directed by Robert Stromberg.
MALEFICENT appears in theaters May 30th, 2014.

I am a sucker. I will watch almost anything with Angelina Jolie in it. This looks like they did an amazing job with the special effects. If this one does well,  I can only assume Disney will try another story in a similar style.

I'm still not sure how I feel about this? Is this like a "Wicked" (Oz Musical)  type of thing, where they actually have us rooting for the badguy?

Video has been pulled.

Looks terrible; I bet it will do about as well as The Lone Ranger and John Carter.

That was not a good trailer, and for that matter the film itself looks rather cheesy and with too much CGi. Disney spent 200 million plus on this thing. Hope it does well, but my gut says this one is going flop hard against it's cost.

I am oddly intrigued by this film and really looking forward to it

I will definitely see it, looks like a interesting movie to pass the time and see one of Disneys greatest villains in live action, like all villains they started out with good intentions but in the end the darkness won over.

I'd be surprised if this wasn't a big hit.  This isn't The Lone Ranger and it's not John's a spin off of Sleeping Beauty...which is right in Disney's wheel house.
