Can WE actually put a stop to UWE BOLL's Madness?

(Tue 04/08/2008 12:09pm)

At FearNet.com they mention to Uwe Boll in an interview that there is a petition that has 18,000 signatures asking him to stop making movies. He says it would take 1million for him to do that. In 4 days it jumped from 18,000 to over 110,000 lol...

I doubt he would actually quit making movies if it reaches that point but for shits and giggles I signed it myself. Because I hate him...alot...

Well I don't hate anyone for trying to do something they love...He may not be a good director but I respect him for trying and double respect him for finding funding from private corporations in Germany and the German government itself, but most of all I respect him as an artist, he is at least trying even though he falls short every time...If you feel the need to hate someone because they have the opportunity to make movies that you don't like, then all the power to you...So that there is no misunderstanding, I do respect him as an artist and a business man but can't stand his movies, catch 22 I know but that's just how it goes...

Why in the world would I ever want to stop Uwe Boll?? He's our generation's Ed Wood. We need guys like him to make "so bad, it's good movies"

Keep going, Uwe. We need you!

Merin...I have my moments, all be it few and far in between lol but thanks for kudos because I was exactly 1 kudos short of having level 1 respect lol don't ask me what it means,I am still trying to figure it out myself lol but thanks none the less...
Since you chimed in, what are your feelings as far as this petition goes and Mr. Uwe Boll?

Uwe Boll?

I think House of the Dead should be used in film school to show writers, directors, producers and actors exactly how to NOT make a film. I consider it the worst "general release film with talent and a budget" ever made.
I think Alone in the Dark improved on House of the Dead about a hundredfold and was still worthy of an F.
Then I think Bloodrayne, for all its flaws (and there are many) is probably an enjoyable C- / D+.
I actually would give In The Name Of The King a C+ / B-.

I think while he can get funding and get projects made, who the heck are we to tell him to stop? He is obviously profitable on some level or else he wouldn't keep getting investors / projects. Some people obviously enjoy his work, because people DO go to the theater to see his films and buy his DVDs.

He's not a very talented director, IMO, but he's passionate, prolific, and profitable so by all means he can keep working as long as he is able to.
