Isaac Hayes Passes Away at 65 - Aug 10, 2008 - 02:04pm
What a fucking couple of months, yes? First Ledger then Winston,Carlin, Mac, that news guy and now THE DUKE OF N.Y!?!?!?
I wish he stayed on South Park but I guess you gotta go with your beliefs....Anyways best wishes to the family and R.I.P
Cage Heading To Prison in SCARED STRAIGHT - Aug 02, 2008 - 10:31am
I do not think that Carpenter has faltered once! I am a huge fan and I am not quite sure why Ghosts of Mars and Vampires get hated on so much....?... Hell, every director from 70's and 80's had somewhat altered how they direct films and which ones they take; look at Croenenberg! If you guys want to talk about a director who has jumped off the track, look at Romero!
I do not need a trailer for any of his films, I will be there!
DVD Shopping Bag: DVD Maniac Worthy? Almost - Jul 29, 2008 - 01:07am
It seems Doomsday is a movie you either like or dislike and for me the movie was fucking awesome! I rented it, liked it and then bought it the same day! The movie was like putting Road Warrior and Escape from N.Y. in one movie but hey!, I like it!!
Good, good movie!
DVD Review of The Ruins - Jul 27, 2008 - 02:31am
It's funny you do a review for this film now because I JUST watched this film about 4hrs ago and I agree.
The film has so much potential but ends up being a film that should have not been made. The movie starts out well and when my friends told me it was going to be like Cabin Fever but better, I could not wait....and now I wish I HAD waited.....
The book is supposed to be really good... So, I might check it out to get rid of a good movie gone bad...if you want to watch a movie that has good potential but ends up being stupid, then watch this film....
I had high hopes for this film......I guess being a fan of horror films I should be used to dissapointment....?.....
SDCC: Sam Raimi Ready For EVIL DEAD 4 - Jul 26, 2008 - 07:16pm
Awesome! It's about time Raimi gets back to directing some good films! Can't wait to hear more news!!!!
GROOVY!!!
Cohen and Paramount Remaking MONSTER SQUAD - Jul 16, 2008 - 05:05pm
I agree. I grew up watching this movie and was very pleased to finally get it on DVD awhile back.
As for the remake, I honestly do not have any problems with it...as of now. But I think it would be pretty cool to see how they adapt this.
"Wolfman has nards!!!"
Sigourney Weaver Up for ALIENS 5 - Jul 06, 2008 - 11:21am
Thank you, Bill. I am with you all the way. I liked Hicks and Newt as well but they died, get over it and actually made the third installment better. Think about it though, they would have killed them off anyways and people would be bitching about that as well.....
Sigourney Weaver Up for ALIENS 5 - Jul 05, 2008 - 10:38am
After the horrible AVP movies, I have always said they should split this apart and just make another Predator and Alien movie. I grew up watching the Alien franchise and the only one I was able to see in theatre was Alien4, which was fucking horrible. Talk about the third one being bad, NO! This one takes the cake and the bakery, people!I never quite understood why Alien3 got hated on so much. You have Fincher, great director, thrown into a almost impossible situation and makes the camera work on that film look much better then Cameron, or even Scott. The story was ok but what really got me into this movie was the acting, the direction and of course, the Alien. IMO, the Alien in the third one was a lot crazier and just pissed off then any of the others. So, all in all; I welcome another Alien film with open arms and a open chest!
First Trailer for Anderson's DEATH RACE - Jun 14, 2008 - 08:55am
Movie does not look to bad other then the fact that the fucking trailer was WAY to long and could have been cut back. They just told us everything in that trailer.....Bastards....
First Look at the New Jason VOORHEES - Jun 14, 2008 - 08:50am
Honestly, I am willing to give this movie a try, even though I never liked any of the Friday the 13th movies. The only one that was cool was of course, the first one. The one without Jason in his mask.
But hey, it's a Jason movie. I will still give it a chance. The fucked up thing about all these remakes is, that movies coming out NOW, will most likely get remade in the next 15-25 years...So, enjoye now!
Breck Eisner & Sony Prepping FLASH GORDON - May 20, 2008 - 08:31pm
I would not mind them doing a update of the movie. I would like to see a darker side to this character and overral story. That would be cool....
Bale Confirmed for Whole TERMINATOR Trilogy - May 20, 2008 - 08:27pm
Being a fan of the first two Terminator films I have reservations towards this new film. I can get over the director, fine thats cool, Bale as Connor also, ok. But with a possible PG-13 rating and already starting off saying this is going to be a trilogy I am worried. I mean, wasn't this movie just last week or two weeks ago, postponed? And now its back on?!?
I am looking forward to see what is going to happen with this film but I am in agreement that this better not conflict with Batman3.
Oh, yeah. I would like to know how the Sara Connor Chronicles is going to have an effect on the outcome of this movie and its story.
New HULK Trailer - May 16, 2008 - 12:05pm
LOL. Your pretty funny, man. I aviously touched a sore note with you so I will just drop it like I said in my previous post and let you feel better about yourself. Enjoy and take care!
Extended Clip of M. Night's HAPPENING - May 16, 2008 - 11:30am
I have to say that Lady in the Water is a guilty pleasure of mine. I enjoy all of his films except Unbreakable. I am still trying to get used to that film.
That being said, I am looking forward to this movie. I am interested to see if there is going to be a difference in his PG-13 films to this new R rating.
New HULK Trailer - May 16, 2008 - 11:26am
You say I need to get a real hobby other then posting in the forums and on the main site here, yet you are doing the same thing and I see you post here more then I. So, maybe you should think about what you said about me. Even if that was the case, I am entitled to my opinion and I believe that is what posting is all about, sir.
I honestly have no problem with you. I was just posting about how tired I am of superhero movies that are just OK, just how someone will post about how there's a third Mummy film, and how that frachise murdered the original black and white film.
It's an opinion and by you attacking me, saying I have no life and need a hobby because I post on a website, that in and of itself is stupid, because you and everyone else here is doing the same thing.
Take care, Im outta this thread!
New HULK Trailer - May 15, 2008 - 12:08pm
scytheofluna.....Why dont you tell me how you really feel?...Hear sit down, and lets talk...So when did you find out you liked to play with Barbie dolls?
New HULK Trailer - May 14, 2008 - 09:03pm
I can understand that comic book fans have been waiting a long time for these type of movies to be coming out over the last couple of years....but for others, like me, its getting old real quick! I enjoyed the anti-hero type of comic book-turned movies like The Crow, Constantine, Blade and Sin City. My issue with it is that these movies are just ok...not awesome, not great...just ok and if I wanted to watch just ok films I would watch some hack/slash series like Jason. These type of movies come in trends though, it will not last for long and THAT'S what I am looking forward to.
Bloodgood Fights in New TERMINATOR - Apr 21, 2008 - 12:52pm
I was actually hoping this was going to stall and so they could re-cast and get a new director.
I like Bale but I think this series should not start with all star cast, so to say.
Guess this will have to do....
ALIENS VS. PREDATOR: REQUIEM - Apr 11, 2008 - 10:28am
I can say that when I went to the theatre to watch this movie, I had no high expectations because of the first one. The only things was that this new one, was rated R and that had an added bonus.
Alright, now thats done I can also easily say that for me, this was THE WORST MOVIE OF LAST YEAR, BY FAR!! After watching this horrible ass movies I actually wanted to go out and buy the S.E of the first one.
The blood and gor aspect was pretty much pointless in this film and the PredAlien was utterly stupid..I almost would have prefered a PG-13 movie over this.... And then the end...Yea, it seems it is required of the AVP films to remind us of the movies this bastard spawn of a franchise was launched off of...
Fourth and Last Trailer for GTA IV - Apr 05, 2008 - 04:01pm
I always wished they would have tied in some of the characters from the series together besides little shit hear and there and of course, Liberty City.
I would like to possibly see something from San Andreas come over to this new one, like CJ and wtf he has been up to....
No Zod, No Constantine and No FF 3 - Mar 27, 2008 - 11:34pm
I actually, would like to see another Constantine movie and hope they could get the crew back together for the movie.
I remember the first time I watched it, and thought it was ok. But it has grown on me a lot and would like to see more.
ASSASSIN'S CREED - Mar 26, 2008 - 03:48pm
Merin, if you do not like FPS then I think you should definatly try this game out. Maybe because I am so used to FPS games that I was unphased by this games control and story... But everyone likes different games, you dig? So, I would still try it out, there are much worse games out there to try- Ex: Two Worlds!
ASSASSIN'S CREED - Mar 26, 2008 - 11:02am
This was one of the games I was actually really dissapointed with. The hype over this game was really high and when I went to play it I felt let down by everyone else's opinions.
The gameplay is ok at best and the overrall story gets screwed up with the back and forth of the plot. I would give this title a C + but I also think, that if you want to play it, rent it first and save yourself the $60.
NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN - Mar 09, 2008 - 12:44am
I liked the ending and thought it was a good way to end this kind of a film. I am not sure why people were bothered by it and am curious to know how THEY would have wanted it to end.
Other then that, I agree that it was quite worthy of winning the Best Picture award.
BLADE: The Series - Mar 04, 2008 - 12:10am
I rather liked Blade the series and think it should have continued. With all of the other rubbish on TV right now, I think this would be welcomed and should come back for another season.
Everyone else's grip about this series is little but nothing compared to what it could/can be!
CSI:HARD EVIDENCE - Mar 02, 2008 - 02:33pm
I played and easily beat this game for the 360. The easiest achievment points I have ever got on a game before, either.
I did enjoy the finding of evidence and putting together of items, but overral was short with only 5 episodes and even on the hardest difficulty, I am sure a 5 year old could find out.
I can see this franchise going places but for right now, I would rent before buying.
Weaving Tracks After the WOLFMAN - Feb 22, 2008 - 10:40am
As excited I am about this movie, lets look at what has happened:
Benicio got hurt, in which, movie is delayed.
A new Director has been brought on board.
A rewrite of the script has already been done.
Now, that is only three things, but those are pretty huge. Especially the last two. Now, I am not saying this movie will not be good, but at what I am looking at it's not feeling right..... :(
New Victims Ready for FINAL DESTINATION 4 - Feb 22, 2008 - 10:35am
I really liked the first one and thought it was new and fun. The second one was ok, but the opening sequence to FD2 was by far one of the craziest opening sequences I have seen in a theatre at that time.
As for the fourth (Notice how I skipped commenting on the 3rd? lol) Not sure, but since the old lady likes this franchise I will undoubtedly get dragged to it...Just like those fucking Saw movies she drags me to....
First Bloody Pic from LOST BOYS 2 - Feb 22, 2008 - 10:32am
I still am not sure about this film. I was one of the people who craved a sequal....about TEN YEARS AGO!!!
I will still check it out, but it would have been nice to bring back everyone and just do a theatrical release.....
Cameron Updates Status on AVATAR - Feb 22, 2008 - 10:30am
I have complete confidence in Cameron's work. I can not think of ONE movie he has done that I did not enjoy. The story sounds intriguing and with everyone bitching about how hollywood does not come up with anymore good ideas, this man is a perfect example.
I just did not realize it would not be coming out for another damn year and a half!!!
Movie Screenshot Trivia Rd3 Set2 - Feb 21, 2008 - 09:34pm
I agree. Some of the hints were quite avious. Luckily, I figured out all of them otherwise I would have had no problem with them.
Movie Screenshot Trivia Rd3 Set1 - Feb 18, 2008 - 01:46pm
#2 is driving me up the frackin' wall!!!!! I know that damn movie!!!
Oh, and saucyml, thanks for keeping the score for people all together.
Goodluck, everyone!
AMERICAN GANGSTER - Feb 17, 2008 - 11:44am
There was another drug lord ruling apart of Harlem at the time...but I can not remember his name. Him and Lucas did not work together but both were eventually brought down. Mainly, is this other guy in the film as well or is this the story of Lucas and Roberts?
Eisner Remaking Romero's CRAZIES - Feb 15, 2008 - 12:00pm
Agreed, Mckracken. I always like The Crazies but also felt that it was one of Romero's weakest films. I always liked the story but like you just said, was just dated for its time. I am curious to see how they do this and am hoping they do it well.
This is, in a rare case, where I liked and own the original, but would not mind seeing a remake.
Movie Screenshot Trivia: Rd 2 Set 1 - Feb 11, 2008 - 01:43pm
The first round you get two points and then if you still cannot get them, the second round comes in with TWO screenshots fromt he same movie. Now you can guess on both, but the second viewing will only cost 1 point....That is how I got 17.
Here Today! - Feb 05, 2008 - 12:40pm
Agreed, Celt6. That is why I coughed up the extra money and bought the Alien Quadrilogy Box Set!
MY FAVORITE, in my collection. Hours, upon hours of bonus features and two kick ass commentary's from Ridley Scott, James Cameron and the cast and crew of Aliens.
Another of my favorites is the Band of Brothers Box set. Great series as well as my 4 disc box set of the Scream trilogy.
Also, just because I loved the unique style of the tin, I have the Reservoir Dogs tin which is designed like a gasoline can and inside it is a big mathbox with two disc inside it. It is pretty cool!
Here Today! - Feb 04, 2008 - 10:32pm
I like it...I like..
Anyways, there are and forever will be rip-off's of special editions like Special Director's Cut and the overused, Unrated Cut.
Like the Evil Dead Series the original Dawn of the Dead has been raped beyond belief, but back two or three years ago they finally released a 4 disc Ultimate Edition set of the original Dawn of the Dead.
1st disc is the U.S. Theatrical Version running at a time of 127min with commentary by George A. Romero, Tom Savini and Chris Romero, along with Gallery's, T.V spots, original music by Goblin and a Comic Book Preview.
2nd disc is the 'Extended Version' running at 139min with commentary by producer Richard Rubinstein, a funny mall commercial and more galleries.
3rd disc running at 118min is the European Version which was edited by Dario Argento, with commentary by the actors David Emge, Ken Foree, Scott H. Reiniger and Gaylen Ross.
Finally the 4th disc is nothing but Documentaries. A 'All New' The Dead Will Walk featuring interviews with cast and other crew members. The original documentary which was filmed during the making of. A On Set home movies and a Monroeville Mall Tour with Actor Ken Foree.
Now, it seems you can buy all of this for under $60, give or take. If you are a fan of the original then I would highly suggest getting this and I do not see them trying to make more money off of this movie with a box set like this.
Brett Ratner Directing THE WOLFMAN? - Jan 31, 2008 - 11:29am
McG or Ratner....Hmmm...I think I would rather get an autographed photo of Boll then see either of these two guys direct movies...Just IMO...Do not care of either of the films these two have done...
Paramount Confirms CLOVERFIELD 2 - Jan 31, 2008 - 11:24am
I loved the first one, but I was really hoping that they would not make another. I could be wrong and it could be great, maybe I am still scorned off of the Blar Witch sequal. But I would have prefered for them to have just leaved this alone. Great first movie, and I think it should have been left alone....Oh well...Who knows...
WOLFMAN Director Drops Out of Project - Jan 29, 2008 - 06:05pm
That is never good news when a director drops out because of 'creative differences'.
It seems the studio was pushing for a lot to be done in THEIR way and not the directors....
NIGHTMARE Series Getting Remade.. - Jan 29, 2008 - 06:02pm
I agree, Jarrod. I am also a fanboy of the nightmare series, yes all of them. They are not all great but for me, enjoyable to watch.
This was bound to happen, and that is a sad thing to say. I can only hope that Englund will be back to play the part....
Raimi Moving Forward with WIZARD'S FIRST RULE - Jan 29, 2008 - 01:11pm
Come one, Raimi. What the hell are you doing, man? Go do something original. When was the last time this guy sat down and wrote something that was from his original mind?...That is the Raimi I miss, but hey when someone is throwing money at me, I would probably forget where my roots came from as well....
Quadrilogy - Jan 29, 2008 - 01:09pm
No, really. Tell us how you really feel, buddy!
Luc Besson Adapting ADELE BLANC Comic - Jan 29, 2008 - 11:17am
This sounds good. I like all of Besson's films and personally think he should be making more....I rarely see him direct and write the same film anymore...
Anyways, it will be good to see this guy back in action.
HELLRAISER & TRASH Delayed - Jan 25, 2008 - 12:40pm
I might be one of the few who not only really like the first two, but would not mind seeing a 'remake' of the original.
After the first two Hellraiser movies, much like the Jason franchise, just got plain stupid... You know Bradley should be embarresed to have those under his belt but for some reason he keeps on doing them...?
Anyways, I was under the impression that Barker was coming back to write and direct his original. I could have sworn I read an article where he even stated he was going to do so...Not sure what had happened to that?
Either way, I am down for a remake of Hellraiser. I would like to see the cenobites done some justice.
As for Trailer Trash, I like Eli Roths movies but this is just stupid....
Ken Watanabe Joining Vampire FREAK Show - Jan 21, 2008 - 09:43pm
So, we are retarded for not reading the book and therefore not kjnowing what this is about? Dense, man...pretty dense.
I figured we would have to read the book in order to understand it. Wow, you make such great observations!
Ken Watanabe Joining Vampire FREAK Show - Jan 21, 2008 - 12:51pm
I agree, whiskey. It does sound different and it is way to early to tell how this movie could turn out.
Mckracken, I have no clue what the hell a Vampanese is! LOL
New Poster for Tarantino's HELL RIDE - Jan 20, 2008 - 11:18am
Looking forward to it. The movie does not seem like your typical hollywood film and I like the casting as well.
Call me a chump but I am down with whatever Rodriguez and Tarantino do.
Family Guy: Blue Harvest - Jan 20, 2008 - 11:14am
You know, I honestly did not like it. I thought a lot of the jokes had been done before and it did not feel like a REAL Family Guy episode....
I am a fan of both SW and FG but watched this when it aired on tv and was bored with it and barely laughed.
Now, you should check out Robot Chicken parody of SW...THAT is some of the funniest parody's of SW I have ever seen.
Casting Begins for Carpenter's GOTHIC - Jan 18, 2008 - 04:10pm
IMO, it would not work. Look how films were made and filmed back in the 80's and 70's and tell me that they were not right for that time.
What I mean is, with each decade comes new styles, ideas and technology. If TheThing came out today the THING would be entirely CGI and most likely would look fake as hell. Same with Escape.
When Carpenter made Escape the country was no where near what it is now, so when they remake this new Esape it is going to be filled with Bush hate related material.
Some films were best with the year and deade they came out in, I stand by what I say and I think Carpenter has got better with age. A movie like Prince of Darkness would not be a good movie if it had com out in the 60's or 90's....IMO
Casting Begins for Carpenter's GOTHIC - Jan 18, 2008 - 11:35am
You got to remember like age, stories change with time as well. I do not think you could make a film like Escape or The Thing today and it pull in a decent amount of money.
Those movies fit in that time of the 70's and 80's. In the 90's cinema was finding new tricks and CGI was starting to blow up. I like EVERYTHING he has done. If you go and look at Assualt made in '75 released in '76 and then go and watch Ghosts of Mars I think he has grown quite big as a director and I like his new style.
I am just happy to see him back doing films!
Hellraiser - Jan 17, 2008 - 06:48pm
I thought that Clive Barker was coming back to direct this remake?!....This sucks! I have read an interview or two where he even states that he was going to do this and now there is these no names doing it!?!
Hey it could still be good...I will give it a shot for sure, this movie really was good!
Danny McBride Gets LOST in Remake - Jan 16, 2008 - 06:46pm
Hot Rod was probably the stupidest movie of last year....I had to turn to off half way....
New Stills From TRAILER PARK OF TERROR - Jan 15, 2008 - 05:40pm
I am just saying that there has been nothing new or groungbreaking in the genre for quite awhile.
Black Sheep was ok... I expected more humor.
Hatchet I did not care for at all
Planet Terror was ok, but I am not sure if I consider that a Horror movie.
Slither was very underrated. Great movie!
And Behind the Mask was ok as well...I dont know, I just want to be floored like when I first saw Scream, The Thing, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm St. etc.
Of course most of those movies were all made years and decades ago....Yea, I just want something better then OK, you dig?
New Stills From TRAILER PARK OF TERROR - Jan 15, 2008 - 01:23pm
This could go either way... I might see it...I guess it all really depends on what is out at the time...I love horror movies, but within the past couple of years they just have not done shit for the industry...
Top 6 Reasons 2008 Could be the Year of PS3 - Jan 15, 2008 - 01:19pm
Very well said, Cleric. After reading your post and then reading the main article again, it does come off as a Sony FanBoy...
PS3 IS a good system, but for right now the 360 is the best. Games and online exclusives.
Top 6 Reasons 2008 Could be the Year of PS3 - Jan 15, 2008 - 11:49am
I used to be all about the PS2 and PS3, even when I had to replace my PS2 4 times! for scratching my discs and overrall running of the system, which was shit. I still stuck with them, I played the PS3 and was all about it as well, but the same goddamn thing kept on happening.
I eventually got my money back, and went through hell to do it, Sony was a dick about it, and I got my 360! I have never been so happy with a system. I might go back to a PS3 in the future, but with the games the online play and just overrall price of it, I do not think it is worth it.
Scribe Avary Arrested for Manslaughter - Jan 14, 2008 - 11:20am
You know, for writing some of the coolest stories you would think that this guy was not STUPID!! STUPID, STUPID!!
You know what, he deserves jail time. Honestly, wtf are you thinking? That it is ok to drive drunk!?!? $50, 000 BAIL!! YOU know how many taxi cab rides that would have cost!?!
STUPID! Seriously people, dont drink and drive, it is fucking stupid and people die.
Trailer for Romero's DIARY OF THE DEAD - Jan 13, 2008 - 04:40pm
Honestly though, 28 Days Later IS NOT A ZOMBIE MOVIE! There is nothing in there to classify it as a zombie movie. They run around and tear the shit outta people with an infection called RAGE.
I honestly have not seen a good zombie movie in awhile, and people complain about this genre being overdone one minute and then the next they wish it was back...
It will not last that long...Horror is notorious for this kind of shit.
Trailer for Romero's DIARY OF THE DEAD - Jan 12, 2008 - 12:31pm
The shaky cam has been around for quite some time and the only film that pulled it off successfuly was Blar Witch.
I am there. I like Romero's movies, not only his Dead Series but the other ones that seem to get ignored especially when you have a series like the Dead.
Honestly, it did not look all that shaky compared to Cloverfield trailer. And I am hoping that since these are film students and not some drunk guy with a camer, that they will be able to operate it with a little bit more care.
Producer Confirms Details for TERMINATOR SALVATION - Jan 07, 2008 - 02:21pm
Honestly, it could go either way, Wiseguy. I mean, IT WILL make tons of money, that is a for sure thing. But will it be good?...LOTR is probably the only trilogy that worked with the same director helming all three. Look at the Matrix, you dig?
I was hoping for something like the Star Wars sega and Alien movies. Bring in a fresh set of eyes on the subject. But, like I just said, I guess it all really depends on the outcome.
Producer Confirms Details for TERMINATOR SALVATION - Jan 07, 2008 - 12:52pm
I will not be impressed until I see the film and see how McG does it. But as it stands I am still not sure wtf they picked this guy.
Also, I think the only way to make this trilogy work is if they get different directors for each movie....Get a fresh perspective with each director.
Freddy's Back with a New NIGHTMARE? - Jan 07, 2008 - 12:48pm
I like this. I admit that there are weak ones in the franchise but it is still a good franchise which is still pulling in money.
Dark..yes. But he is dark and ridiculous. Even in the first one he was fucking around with the kids, but I agree, bring back the feeling of the first and second one. The second one gets a lot of shit, but it is quite dark. Even more so then the first one.
I was hoping someone would start this franchise back up again. Hell, they are doing Jason over again and that series really did suck.
The 10 Most Awesome Movies Hollywood Ever Killed - Jan 04, 2008 - 06:22pm
I frankly dont care for Halo or Unbreakable II...that would have been just bad.
Also, I do not understand why Ghostbusters II gets so much shit! That movie was good. Maybe because I was a kid when I saw it that I liked it, but that movie gets WAY to much shit.
Felix "Wright" Leiter Returns for BOND 22 - Jan 03, 2008 - 10:01am
I agree with all. He was good in the last Bond, but very limited. His character seems like there is more going on, you know?
Casting Begins for H.P Lovecraft's THE THING - Jan 03, 2008 - 09:59am
Now this is the type of news I like to hear. Give me some dark material to look forward to and not have the taint of Hollywood movie written all over it, and I am there.
Looking forward to hearing more about it.
Del Toro Prefers FRANKENSTEIN Mini-Series - Jan 03, 2008 - 09:57am
As much as I like Frankenstein, I really would not want to see another one. I like Del Toro and he certainly has an eye, but I am sure he could come up with other material.
If he does decide to follow through with this, then hopefully it will just be a miniseries.
LEGEND Worthy Box Office Take Overseas - Jan 01, 2008 - 09:37pm
I have seen I Am Legend and AVP:R and all I got to say is that the year ended with some crappy movies...Ok, let me restate that: Some overhyped movies.
Both dissapointing....I Just hope they do not begin this first couple of months out with some really dissapointing flicks...
Top 5 Genre Films of 2007, Top 5 Anticipated Films of 2008 - Jan 01, 2008 - 09:35pm
Good article, DJ. I agree with all of the picks of your favorite 2007 films...Grindhouse was amazing and will soon become a cult classic, if not already.
I frankly do not care for Iron Man or The Hulk. But like you were saying, everyone has their own opinion... Good topic though...you should come to Chaotic Radio and discuss this shit, DJ!!!
Peter Berg Confirms DUNE Remake - Dec 23, 2007 - 06:14pm
I agree, Wes. But I also think making it into a trilogy would be just as good...There are so many stories they can tell, so I think they should conentrate on the first movie, see how well it does and move on from there.
I frankly do not care for any of the movies that Berg has done, but you know what, that might make it just as good.
Peter Berg Confirms DUNE Remake - Dec 21, 2007 - 05:43pm
This is good news. I have been waiting for another DUNE movie for quite some time.
Peter Berg has done:
Very Bad Things
The Kingdom
Friday Night Lights
The Rundown
Raimi Rides TO HELL And Back Again.. - Dec 20, 2007 - 06:18pm
It is nice to see Raimi doing ANYTHING other then Spiderman. Hell, he could do a romantic comedy and I would still be happy to see it, just as long as I do not need to see Spiderman 3 again....
Two More Confirmed for G.I JOE - Dec 20, 2007 - 06:12pm
STUPID STUPID STUPID...
I dont like to bash films before they even come out but this is really stupid. Yea, I had G.I. Joe's as a kid too, but that was when I was a kid and I got to make up my own storys...
What's next?... A Hot Wheels movie?... A Trolls Movie?....What about those toys that were in a bag, and once you put them in hot water the bag dissolves to reveal the toy...what about that?...OH SHIT, what about BARBIE and KEN? It could be like Romeo and Juliet!
And now He-Man....These movies COULD be ok, but I will never find out. I refuse to see this type of crap.
Trailer for THE RUINS Online - Dec 20, 2007 - 05:00pm
I think it looks ok...I am not sure I would go so far as to call the plot silly...I mean, hell, Spiderman is silly.
But, it does not look bad. I MIGHT go see it...It all depends on what is coming out around the time it hits theatres..
LEGEND Has Record Breaking Debut - Dec 16, 2007 - 06:30pm
You know...the movie was ok.. I woud gve it a B-.
(SPOILERS)
I really did not like how they seperated the flashbacks...I think that if they would have opened up the movie with that being one continuos shot and even show Smith's character running back to his house and all the anachry that is insuing would have set this movie straight from the beginning. Aso, showing him run up in his house, and up to the bathroom and go to the bathub with the pup and comforting it while all the screams continued outside, would have set much more emotional empact on the film...for me anyway.
Also, the whole God thing was to much for me. The CGI characters is old...I would have like him to use SOME real peole instead of just CGI all the time...That is getting really old.
Other then those things. It was an ok movie. I think it was a little more hyped up then it should have been....
And yes, Sam was the coolest thing about that movie
Five Minutes of CLOVERFIELD Online - Dec 15, 2007 - 12:48am
Luckily, for me, shaky cams have NEVER bothered me and I prefer them to fast action shots.
Perfect ex: Transformers. Good movie but I would have liked to see what they were actually fucking doing when they were battling..It was so quick that by the time it was done.. I was sitting there wondering wtf I just saw.
I can see how it could turn an audience off, the shaky cam stuff that is. But the filmmaker is trying to add a 'real' feel to it. Like you were there yourself...Depending on how it turns out, it could either be really stupid and the shaky cam fucks the whole movie up, or adds more to the movie and is only shaky at some parts...Either way though, I will be there.
Five Minutes of CLOVERFIELD Online - Dec 14, 2007 - 06:12pm
It is funny how you have people bitching about how hollywood does not come up with an original idea, or something new...Then this comes along, and it STILL gets blasted for it being not original..
I am going to see this. For sure ,and the first 5 minutes are awesome..Now as for the dialogue the guys says...Umm, what the hell would you be doing in a situation like that. I do not think you would be pulling Mark Twain quotes out of your ass!
AND for the acting...I would rather see people I have not seen before then Tom Cruise running around saying the same thing...
Give the movie a break, guys...
Ghostbusters 3 - Dec 03, 2007 - 11:33pm
I am really looking forward to this game...Hell, some games have more of a storyline in it then movies nowadays...
HELLRAISER 20th Anniversary Edition - Dec 02, 2007 - 11:10pm
Waste of time and money...Well, we can not all have enough money to cough up for those ridiculous prices...
I do not see DVD going anywhere anytime soon. I still buy DVD's and will continue to do so. I do not care if I see the booger in Bruce Willis' nose or not... The Blue Ray and HD movies or all just as much waste a money as any others buddy.
It is inevitable. One DVD player for ONE DVD type....So, until then... I think I am fine with my cheap DVD's! :)
EA Announces New Horror Game DEAD SPACE - Nov 30, 2007 - 06:50pm
I will give almost any game a shot. Especially if it involves me with a gun.
This sounds like a mix of Aliens and Doom3...But I am down. I have not been very pleased with some of the recent FPS besides HL2 and CoD4
Planet of the Apes (Prequel) - Nov 18, 2007 - 08:27pm
You know what...I actually think it would be a good idea to do another Apes movie...I always liked them and the premise they brought to the screen...
I say bring in a new crew and actors. Do something different with the series...
Stranded on Gens' CANNIBAL Island? - Nov 12, 2007 - 02:48pm
Sounds good...But there are a lot of movies that sound like a good idea at the time, but then fall flat...I will wait for the trailer, I guess.
Rob Zombie Not Remaking C.H.U.D? - Nov 11, 2007 - 03:19pm
Your points are noted. You have your opinion, that is great. I got mine, and I still think labeling people is wrong. So, whatever you got to tell yourself to make yourself feel better, buddy!
Love, Peace and Chicken Grease!
Rob Zombie Not Remaking C.H.U.D? - Nov 10, 2007 - 08:48pm
What does it matter how much money he brings in for his movies? He aviously makes it back himself and just because he does not use $150mil dollar budget for a movie that you could make with $15mil, does not mean he is less talented.
I stick up for the guy because like I have posted, I am a fan of horror movies and I think he is a fresh face on the genre that seems to die every year!
Carpenter is one of my favorite directors of all time, I own every one of his movies as long with Tarantino's and Rodriguez. I like these guys because THEY are the ones who use THEIR own money half the time for movies they believe in. These guys are renegades of the film industry and have always made FUN movies!
And what is SOOOO wrong with liking these guys as directors? Just because I dont worship other directors like a lot of people on this site do, does not mean I have less taste. I would rather watch a Tarantino, Rodriguez, Zombie and Carpenter film over ANYONE else's ANYDAY!
Rob Zombie Not Remaking C.H.U.D? - Nov 10, 2007 - 06:47pm
Nice comeback! I have no clue what to say to you, now...Wow... I am amazed by your language skils...
I think you are the one doing a fine job at making youself look like the jackass by labeling people white trash and rednecks.....
Rob Zombie Not Remaking C.H.U.D? - Nov 10, 2007 - 02:37pm
You are a bigot, superfrank78 and a fucking tard!
Let me count. He has made THREE films...ONE OF THEM A REMAKE....Hmmm, you might need to go back to H.S buddy!
Rob Zombie Remaking C.H.U.D? - Nov 09, 2007 - 02:42pm
Have not seen any of his films? Hell it seems like I am one of the only ones who LIKE Zombie's style and movies on this whole website!
But seriously, show me the references of white trash and redneck in ALL THREE OF HIS MOVIES!?! So, lets say I had a stripper mom and my sister is a slut, that makes me white trash and redneck? Sounds like you are a bigot, dude! People got to survive and hear you are all smug talking on your website about people who have low income are white trash, you aviously have not had a hard life and not getting any girls is not one of them, buddy!
Rob Zombie Remaking C.H.U.D? - Nov 08, 2007 - 10:07pm
I could somewhat understand not liking Zombie's style if you are not a fan of Horror films because well...HIS FILMS are just that. I do not like Action films that much so I am not expecting anything good from Micheal Bay..
I AM a horror genre fan of all kinds and I think that Zombie is one of the most recent directors that stand out and bring a unique style to film that many have not seen in the genre since the early 80's and 70's....THAT is why I like his movies.
What kind of irratates me is the use of white trash and redneck themes in his films which you can see that is not the case. Are you saying that middle to low income families/people are rednecks and white trash? That is fucked up...Not once does he reference white trash in his films. Maybe low income families/people who avioulsy can not hold a good job and are trying to make it in life...Does that make them white trash?...Its sad for those who make those kind of comments...
Rob Zombie Remaking C.H.U.D? - Nov 08, 2007 - 07:15pm
Why is there all these haters for Zombie? He has achieved in three movies what most director/writers still have not after 5 movies...
Zombie is probably the best thing to hit horror in a long time and any horror fan could not deny that.
As for people screaming and dying...Umm, it IS a fucking horror movie, duh!!
Wiseguy, what can I say about you that your post has not alreayd portrayed about you? Everyone can call Zombie a hack and has no talent, but yet he makes more money then you and always brings in fat cash from his movies, so there is aviously a market.
It is simple, you do not like him. Dont watch his movies...Use your brains!!
Oh and Brenden, I would really like to hear what kind of movies you like, seriously? Just because this guy does not do comic book shit everyone here flilps out like nerds...lol
I actually went and watched Quarantine. Although an ok movie, don't go in thinking this movie is going to be original. I just got one word for you peeps...Rabbies!....
