@millean, In Empire, Yoda never states how old he is. He just said "For 800 years have I trained Jedi. My own counsel will I keep on who is to be trained", so he's probably close to 100 years old when he starts to train Jedi. Hence when he states that he's close to 900 in Jedi, that is in fact the same age or close to, that he was in Empire.
I can't wait for the lightsaber duel between Spock and Kirk!
Ok I think I'm starting to have an issue with these one shots. They seem dumb and unnecessary. I thought they'd give us something more then just a comedic blurb. I was hoping they'd explain something a little more in depth. Oh well.
Ok, I will agree that the prequel SITH villains were very good, but untapped. Dooku being the best. Even his lines were done well. Ian McKellen should have been what SLJ's character was...then we'd start having a more decent movie. Too many fanboy actors in this movie I think. But still...BETTER WRITING! The story's were crap. That's what would have saved these movies. George needs to stick to CGI and leave everything else to everyone else.
@ InnerSanctum...it was Obiwan who said "he was our last hope", and Yoda who said "no....there is another".
Funny stuff Rob. I love the original series the most, but I still laughed cause it's all true. Except that with TOS, they actually had somewhat decent actors like Harrison Ford and Alec Guinness saying those cheesy lines. Even Mark Hamill did a good job acting. They felt more natural to watch. In the prequels everything felt forced. The only actor I liked in the prequels was Liam Neisen. But even as good an actor as he is, some of his lines were crap. Ewan sucked...not as much as Hayden, but he sucked. So did Portman. I think it would have been better if there was less CGI and more real actors that they could play their emotions off of, but even then...I don't know. It's like none of the actors were taking doing these movies seriously.
George Lucas can't write...seriously. One phrase from EP 3 "She died because she lost the will to live." Seriously? That's how you killed off Luke and Leia's mom? A woman who was such a strong willed individual, who was a queen as a teenager and a senator after that. She lost the will to live? How many people die from losing the will to live without killing themselves? That is just crap writing right there. I agree with many here about there being WAY too many plot holes, not getting us to love the characters or feel anything for them.
In the original, Obiwan said "when I met your father he was an accomplished pilot". So apparently being a pod racer is an accomplished pilot? Or "accidentally" flying one of the naboo spaceship by saying things like..."let's see what this button does" is being an accomplished pilot?
FYI...the pod race sucked...
Actually VinJoy and InnerSanctum, there are some continuity issues in the movies. Like Charles saying that Magneto helped him build Cerebro, then in XFC, Cerebro was built by Hank McCoy. Charles is walking in the scene where they meet Jean Grey which has to be set in the 80's because Jean is 30ish in X-Men yet in XFC he can't walk at the end which is set in the 60's. Magneto states that he built the helmet to defend against Cerebro and Charles, yet in XFC it's Sebastian Shaw that he gets it from. Why does Moira McTaggart look the same age in Last Stand as in XFC...etc... I could also go into Wolverine, but they did say they wanted to forget that movie so I'll pass.
:)
I'm so gonna see this movie now. I liked the first one...not fantastic but still really good.
Umm...Thor's costume is the same as it was in Thor...has nothing to do with the director.

@millean...ok I'll give you that one. Degobah probably doesn't have the same rotation around it's sun as our Earth... LOL.
