Raised in a family that loved genre movies, it was my Mom who helped cultivate my love of horror flicks by introducing me first to the old black and white thrillers, then on to the golden age of 70's drive-in horror via Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Last House on the Left, Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things, and Don't Look in the Basement. She also took me to see Jaws & The Exorcist back in the day. I've been hooked ever since.
Growing up in the 70's also lent itself to great action and sci-fi. I was weaned on reruns of I SPY, The Man From Uncle, Wild Wild West, Star Trek, The Avengers, Sean Connery's Bond, Space 1999, and, of course, Star Wars.
I'm a product of movie theaters, drive-ins, and both prime time and late night t.v. I dig Mad Max, The Crow, and Old Boy as much as I do Dog Soldiers, Slither, Seven, and From Beyond. I idolize old John Carpenter flicks, and really dig foreign horror. My DVD collection includes movies such as High Plains Drifter, Run Lola Run, Irreversible, Birth, Black Snake Moan...but my three favorite movies of all-time might just be the original Nutty Professor, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, and Tombstone.
Horror, Thrillers, Action/Adventure, Sci-fi... I wallow in it all and NEVER want to get clean.
