Depp Aboard Disney's PIRATES 4, ALICE and RANGER - Sep 26, 2008 - 06:17am
PonyBoy76: "Come on Pred, if they got some black dude with dreads and a mask to play you, you would be pissed and have to go hunt him down."
Actually, the predator was played by a black actor. Kevin Peter Hall also played Harry in Harry and the Hendersons. Sadly, he died in 1991.
Regardless who plays Tonto, I hope they realize Tonto is spanish for stupid/dumb.
Holy Shitaki, Batgirl - Sep 18, 2008 - 09:56am
DarkXid, I don't see how DC would make any money off this. It's not DC that's putting the issues up in eBay.
When I first heard of the recall, I thought, "Oh, I want one." I want one for the novelty of it. Something to show to my friends. I wouldn't sell it. It would be part of my "blunder" collection (ex. Little Mermaid VHS Penis cover, The Rescuers naked lady VHS, etc.).
Speculators are the scourge of comic book collecting. I don't even like to use the word collect. I buy what I like, read it, and when my stacks get too big I'll go out and buy a long box to put them in. I have about 14 long boxes and about 95% of my comics are NOT bagged and boarded. One of the thing's I hate people asking me is, "How much is your collection worth?" or "What's your most expensive comic book?" aaarrrghhhhh
IF YOU BUY ALL-STAR BATMAN #10 ON EBAY, YOU'RE AN F'ING MORON!!!
Weekly Book Buzz: STAR WARS REPUBLIC COMMANDO - Sep 15, 2008 - 09:40am
Also coming out in Sci-Fi is another Dune novel this one titled Paul of Dune. It takes place between Dune and Dune Messiah.
Rogue Moving Forward with STRANGERS Sequel - Aug 28, 2008 - 06:44am
OMG! I can't believe I'm reading this....
The movie was so predictable. It wasn't scary nor suspenseful. When a "horror" movie makes you laugh at the situations and dialogue, it means it failed.
HARRY POTTER 6 Trailer Online - Jul 29, 2008 - 07:25pm
Regardless of Rowling's intentions or reasoning, my point was that words like homo and buttpirate are degrading. They are words used by kids or dimwitted bigots who have no idea how demeaning they are. It's really a moot point considering that this little fact was revealed after the epic was finished.
First Images Appear for PAINTBALL - Jun 05, 2008 - 11:27pm
Sounds like the 80's movies Gotcha and T.A.G.: The Assassination Game. Same story, killing game turns real when psycho plays with real guns. Blah blah blah. Hollywood, the great American recyclers. Take a popular fad and make a movie.

Comics vs. Manga: Let's Be Friends - Apr 17, 2008 - 06:07am
Comics is comics. If it catches my eye, I'll read it. And when I talk about manga, I call it Japanese comics. What I do find annoying as hell is all the little brats that mess up the Japanese comic section in the bookstore I work in. They sit there all day and freeload. The least these cheap bastards could do is put the books back where..oh...sorry, got carried away. Like I said, comics is comics.
Merchandising: The Search for More Money! - Apr 16, 2008 - 09:35am
I agree with daforce.
Also, I get a chuckle from a comic book geek making fun of WoW geeks. Geeks, nerds, dorks...aren't we all brothers?!?! Can't we all get along?
No Zod, No Constantine and No FF 3 - Mar 28, 2008 - 10:33am
If Superman II has the kid in it, I'm not watching it. I still hate Singer for than bonehead move.
BORDERLAND - Mar 24, 2008 - 06:04am
I believe the movie is based on the 1989 Spring Break kidnapping of Mark Kilroy. Kilroy was taken after leaving a bar in Matamoros, Mexico. Kilroy's remains were found along with other human remains by authorities after an extensive search. The murders were committed by drug dealers who practiced Satanic rituals that they believed would help them become powerful. I live about 16 miles from the Mexican border and I remember the terror that struck the area during that time.
One Comicscape, Many Subjects - Jan 16, 2008 - 09:41am
Colosus snapped somebody's neck during the Mutant Massacre storyline if memory serves me correctly.
The Next Big Bust - Jan 13, 2008 - 08:58pm
Agentkooper:
Don't blame Brubaker if it happens. He has no say-so when it comes to that idiot Quesada and the decisions he makes.
The Next Big Bust - Jan 11, 2008 - 09:25am
I think we should all calm down.....the Marvel Universe will right itself after the whole Secret Invasion storyline. How? Cap's not dead. That was a Skrull that bit the dust. Peter didn't make a deal with Mephisto, it was a Skrull thus making the whole deal void. In fact, any character that has died, gone rogue, changed color, etc. was a Skrull.
Here's the major plot twist: In an attempt to imitate a donkey, one dim-witted Skrull transformed himself into a editor at a comic company that sounds like Smarvel. Once he laid waste to many fan's characters, he was exposed and TERMINATED!
I can dream.....
The Next Big Bust - Jan 09, 2008 - 09:45am
I started reading Spider-man way back in the early 80's (way before Venom was even around) and stopped after the Clone Saga. It was until J. Michael Straczynski took ever many years later that I started reading Spider-Man again. Joe Quesada (that selfish bastard) ruined the Peter Parker that grew up and matured along with me. I have already dropped Amazing Spider-Man from my pull list and will not pick it up again until Peter and Mary Jane get back together. You hear that Mr. Quesada?
Blu-Ray or HD-DVD? - Dec 11, 2007 - 08:16am
DemonDoyle & BSGPROPHET:
I had the same opinion as you two, but as someone pointed out, it's a different era. Back in the day, porn wasn't readily available. When VCR's came around it made it possible for people to get their porn and view it at home. This is why VHS won the format war. Nowadays, porn can be dowloaded for free and will still be available in regular DVD format even if Blu-Ray wins. Porn will not be the deciding factor.
I also agree that the format war will be decided by Lucas and Spielberg (what can I say, I'm a Star Wars fanatic).
Digital Destruction - Dec 05, 2007 - 02:14pm
Oh, BTW, Ben you owe me lunch after spitting out half my sandwich after reading your Marvel Two-In-One comment. I think I still have some lettuce stuck in my sinuses.
Digital Destruction - Dec 05, 2007 - 11:48am
I spend about 100-150 dollars a month on comics and even then I can't afford to read all the stuff flooding the racks. Downloading has allowed me to keep up with multiple cross-overs from both DC & Marvel. It also saves me from buying crap (most of Countdown for example). If the big two trim down their monthly offerings, maybe I wouldn't have to look elsewhere to get the whole story. Even if bittorrents went away, I would just stand there at the comic store and read the titles I don't buy FOR FREE. Either way, they aren't getting my money for needless crossover events.
If they think they can get me to spend more by stretching out a story among several titles, they are dead wrong. Nice try. Don't let me get started on mutliple covers....
More Set Photos for The WATCHMEN - Nov 27, 2007 - 11:14am
OK, seems like many of the set photos are close to the comic panels, but since I don't have my copy next to me, can someone tell me if "Collectibles" is spelled incorrectly in the comic book as well like it is on the Treasure Island sign we see here. If it is, then they are paying close attention to detail.
Tommy Lee Jones Talks New TWO FACE - Nov 12, 2007 - 08:40am
The first time I heard that Tommy was playing Two-Face, I thought, how will the audience be able to tell the difference between the scared make-up from his actual scared face? Answer: They made him purple. Ouch.
EUREKA: Maneater - Sep 21, 2007 - 02:10pm
Ok, I get the fried chicken part, but these people are conducting mating experiments involving breaded animals. Sounds kinda kinky.
EUREKA: Maneater - Sep 21, 2007 - 11:38am
Breading animals? How exactly do you bread an animal? ;)
Rick Baker is Back for WOLFMAN - Sep 07, 2007 - 11:20am
I could be wrong but didn't Rob Bottin create the effects for The Howling?
Bay Rejects TRANSFORMERS 2 After Blu-Ray Snub? - Aug 22, 2007 - 12:14am
Who cares what Disney went with...the formart war was decided last year when the porn industry decided to go with HD-DVD. Don't believe me? Remember VHS vs. Beta? Guess who snubbed the porn industry? VHS won because Americans wanted their porn!!
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS RPG 4th Edition Announced - Aug 17, 2007 - 08:38am
I'd like to apologize....it's my fault they are coming out with a 4th edition. When 3rd edition came out, I waited & debated on buying it. I finally forked over the cash and BAM! 3.5 was announced. Well, I recently bought 3.5......
It's no wonder my friends still play 2nd edition. Think I'll join them......
DOCTOR STRANGE on Dvd & Blu-Ray Tuesday - Aug 13, 2007 - 08:11pm
Oh don't get me wrong, I love animation. What I meant by kid v. adult was would it be boring or entertaining. I saw the 1st Ultimates cartoon and was bored by it.
DOCTOR STRANGE on Dvd & Blu-Ray Tuesday - Aug 12, 2007 - 12:04am
Who is the target audience for the animated movies? Kids? Adults? A little of both? I was debating buying them due to the fact that I didn't want to watch a full length cartoon written for kids. What's the word fellas?
WOLVERINE Gets a Director - Jul 20, 2007 - 12:56am
OK, comic book geek comment/correction: Logan was born with the claws.
Bill Nighy in HALF BLOOD PRINCE? - Jul 13, 2007 - 05:43pm
I don't know why all these character are being named because after watching HP:OTP, most will be cut.
HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX - Jul 11, 2007 - 03:26am
Just came back from the midnight premiere and let me say that I should not have read the book before watching the movie. Although good, SOOOOO much was left out and changed. I kept hoping to see certain memorable parts from the book that never made it into the movie. It's funny how it seems the books are getting longer and the movies shorter.
I would love a good 3+ hour movie done correctly, but when studios want more showing per screen, greed spoils a good solid book.
Hawke Calls DAYBREAKERS "Silly" - Jul 03, 2007 - 02:53pm
CappyMorgan "Which one do you think will come out on top....I am Legend, 30 Days of Night or this Daybreakers?"
I myself am waiting for 30 days of night being a comic book reader. Once you factor in the mindless sheep that flock to theaters on star power alone, I'd say I am Legend will make the most money.
People complain about movie quality, but next time you're at your favorite movieplex, just sit and watch the people that go. Like little robots going through the motions. Another thing that makes me nod my head is how some people butcher the movie titles when asking for tickets.
okay, enough ranting....go see Transformers!
LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD - Jun 28, 2007 - 04:08am
This movie KICKED ASS! C+ for cables? Talk about reaching......
Only part I didn't like was the jet fighter near miss. A little too much luck for me.
Other than that....Best movie this summer so far. Transformers on Monday then HP:OTP 2 weeks laters. Getting in line already!!!!
BATMAN/SUPERMAN Action Figure - Jun 20, 2007 - 01:04pm
Ahhh, gotta love the younger generation. If something isn't from their "time" it's "stupid" or it "sucks". It's truly the "Me Generation".
Remember, when that story was written, it was a different time. The majority of comic book readers were kids. Campy, yes. Stupid, no. I'm sure some of the older generation of comic book readers will find this figure interesting.
FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER - Jun 16, 2007 - 12:30am
Galactus was in the movie! Sorta...I believe the cloud was his world eating machine and he was somewhere inside. If you look closely at the shadow that passes over Saturn, you can makeout his helmet. Ok, ok, I'm hoping here....but I did want to see him purple helmet and all.
INVASION Trailer - Jun 11, 2007 - 09:48pm
Let's see....we had Invasion of the Body Snatchers remade several times. Hmmm, let's call this one Invasion. People won't notice. Then in a few years, we'll make it again and call it Body Snatchers. Oh wait, then of course another one will be Body Snatcher Invasion. Yeah. Suckers. Gotta love Hollywood producers.
"The Cage" Enterprise - May 18, 2007 - 08:44am
Sorry to burst you elite bubble originaldave77, but if you visit and post on sites like mania.com, you're a geek. Call me geek or nerd, I don't care....I likes what I likes.
ILM to forge IRON MAN's FX - May 14, 2007 - 10:42am
I'm biased towards ILM, but WETA is just as good. ILM was the grandaddy of all modern FX houses and laid the groundwork for everyone else. Both effect houses do awesome work. Let's not turn this into one of those immature "my dad is better than your dad" arguments.
SPIDER-MAN 3 Breaks North America Record - May 07, 2007 - 07:44am
"I think even the Simpsons can"
bwahahahahahahahaha, the simpsons beat spider-man..... ****snicker***bwahahahahahaha****snort***bwahahahahaha....hahahaha....hehe...ahem....
Franco on SPIDER-MAN 3 & 4 - May 02, 2007 - 09:34am
@ SpideyBD
******SPOILER ALERT********
You are correct. And so am I.....nuff said
Franco on SPIDER-MAN 3 & 4 - May 02, 2007 - 08:19am
******SPOILER ALERT*******
Why would Franco have anything to say about SM 4? Unless he comes back as a ghost haunting Peter.
Favreau and Downey talk "Iron Man" - Apr 27, 2007 - 10:32am
Good point Merin, but none of these were based on comic books.
Road to Perdition was based on a comic and got several nominations and actually won one.
nax37 is correct though because the people who vote for oscars are all stuffy pretentious snobs.
Jon Favereau talks "Iron Man" - Mar 22, 2007 - 08:40am
When it comes to comic movies, I'm easy to please....it's all about the armor for me.
300 and Captain America: Your Mail - Mar 21, 2007 - 11:40am
"For all those people complaining that 300 wasn't authentic enough... shut the f up."
No sh*t....The movie rocks! No matter how good a movie is, you'll always have naysayers whining about something. **Yeah 300 was good, but Spartan spears were actually 1/2 inch longer in real life.**
"Pirates of the Caribbean" Trailer on March 19 - Mar 09, 2007 - 03:18pm
"Why are there so many pirate haters out there..geez!!"
Don't think they hate pirates so much. Some just get tired of all the hoopla over certain movies. Others like to pretend they're artsie-fartsie movie critics (more like snobs) who'll look smart by bashing a good popcorn movie.
I myself love movies. Good or bad. Bring on part three!
"Star Trek" Plot Details - Mar 09, 2007 - 03:11pm
WHAT?!?!?! No moron typing Khan all the way across the screen? You boys are slacking.
"Transformers" Rated R? - Mar 09, 2007 - 12:30pm
"I don't recall Temple of Doom having a PG-13 rating."
You're right. As mentioned before, Temple of Doom was the REASON they created PG-13.
Fox green lights Shyamalan's "The Happening" - Mar 08, 2007 - 07:57am
"lady in the water (which i walked out of)"
Why would anyone walk out of a movie? Sounds snobbish to me. Besides, they got your money already.
Captain America, dead. - Mar 08, 2007 - 07:52am
Hey, only Bucky stays dea.....no wait, nevermind.
Fox green lights Shyamalan's "The Happening" - Mar 07, 2007 - 07:24am
Sure you did collector....
Anyway, the movie I didn't like and did figure out just by watching the previews was The Village. Have yet to see Lady in the Water.
"Heroes: Unexpected" - Feb 23, 2007 - 07:29am
Simone getting shot wasn't that big of a deal...come on, think about it. Having her get shot while next to someone that can heal her? boooooo
Matt Marsden joins "Rambo IV: Pearl of the Cobra" - Feb 15, 2007 - 03:40pm
Excuse me if I'm mistaken, but isn't there something wrong about a VietNam draft dodger making a movie about a VietNam vet?
"Star Wars" 30th Anniversary DVD in the works - Feb 12, 2007 - 09:35am
I keep looking back at the news story and still can't find any mention of the DVD release being the movies. Am I reading it wrong? To me, it sounds like a special DVD and not the movies.
Those of you waiting for Blu-Ray, good luck. The format war was won by HD when the porn industry picked it over blu-ray. Don't laugh, they also killed Beta by going with VHS.
"Star Trek" Comic to be released in Klingon - Feb 02, 2007 - 07:55am
Nerds? Geeks? Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you visit and post on websites that cover comics, movies and toys, you're pretty much a nerd/geek as well. :P
"Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Space Between" #1 - Jan 30, 2007 - 12:36pm

Nice. I'm sure the Great Bird himself would appreciate you saying that when it comes to his show which is about peace and tolerance in the future.
James McAvoy joins "Star Trek XI"? - Jan 26, 2007 - 12:49pm
I don't mind the bad grammer....what does get me is the goofball wannabe comedians who think they are being original by just spelling out "KKKKKAAAAAAHHHNNNN!!!!!". Geez, it's been done. Let it go. It's not funny anymore.
As for continuity, the powers that be have never followed it. The problem of course falls on the fan boys who read all those Trek books/manuals/etc. and believe that it's all cannon.
Look at what happened with Star Wars. All those EU back stories written over the years and then George changes most of it.
To make things easier, I follow this simple rule: If it's not in the movies, it's not cannon.
Carey malloy to adapt comic "Tag" - Jan 17, 2007 - 10:24am
What's the catch? Simply tag someone else? If so it doesn't seem like that much of a curse. Just keep passing it along. The Ring + Fallen = TAG.
BATMAN 1:4 SCALE MUSEUM QUALITY Statue - Dec 13, 2006 - 12:37pm
Sounds expensive. Looks good, but why do most figures/statues that have a grimace look like the character is constipated?
Halfway Through 52 - Nov 15, 2006 - 11:32am
Saturdays?!?! What am I going to read during my lunch break on Wednesdays? Change my Wednesday ritual? NOOOO!!!!!
Salvatore, Weis, & Star Trek Ship Guide! - Nov 07, 2006 - 03:51pm
I was really excited when I saw the Trek book, but was disappointed by the contents. It does have nice artwork, but I was hoping for more of a technical encyclopedia of ships. When will somebody create a book with ALL the ships of the line from beginning to end? Until then, I'll save my money and use all those fan sites to get my ship information for free.
