Human Torch Casting (Article) - 5/6/2013 11:32:31 AM

Fox please quit trying to hang on to a movie franchise which you can't seem to get right.  Let it go back into the fold.

Mania Review: Iron Man 3 (Article) - 5/6/2013 11:27:53 AM

Darth:   Hank Pym created Ultron, not Tony Stark.  It drove him to a nervous breakdown and he became physically abusive towards Jan Pym.  He eventually made good and I believe, last I checked, he was back fighting the bad guys...which sometimes include the resurrected Ultron.

Tony didn't go crazy.  He was having trouble accepting that he was just a small fish in a much larger pound.  That made him paranoid and anxiety ridden.  If he felt he needed the suits to fight an army, I doubt he would have blown them up in a fireworks show at the end.

I don't think that we can expect to see anything come back from this storyarch since RDJ has been adament that he will be too "old' to play the part after he wraps up A2 (he will be 50.)  Which is a shame, because the Mandarian was a missed opportunity.

Since they are going to go with the movie continuity (which means if they mess up, no reboots) they will most likely just recast the role down the line.  Unless Ant Man can fill the shoes of a lack of an Iron Man (which I somehow doubt.)  They recast the Hulk and I assume they will again and again with the other actors.

Luke Evans for The Crow (Article) - 5/6/2013 11:19:10 AM

Where did they leave off in the Crow franchise?  Did they make something like six straight to DVD movies?  I'd rather they pick another story and character from the thousands created in the world.  We saw a great Crow movie.

Doctor Strange in 2016 (Article) - 5/5/2013 4:03:13 PM

I don't want a "fast talking funny" Doctor Strange.  I want something weird, scarey and unique added to the MU.  DS deals in some heavy shit.  As much as I liked Tennant as a Doctor, he is totally inappropriate for this Doctor.  I'm in the camp of a Viggo style of actor.   A heavy hitter.  Just because DS has greying temples, btw, doesn't mean he is old.  Where did that crap come from?  I use to like that look on Hal Jordon, but I guess it made him look old and not appeal to a younger demographic.  Anyway, it is a signature of the character...as is werid acid like story telling.

My biggest WTF moment is the GOTG movie.  I'm still scratching my head over that choice over core hero franchises.  I hated the Raccoon since he was introduced in the Hulk years ago and that talking tree...well, really?  How did this get the green light over so many other possible projects?  After seeing IM3, I don't have complete faith in the all mighty Disney/Marvel.

Mania Review: Iron Man 3 (Article) - 5/5/2013 3:54:41 PM

I felt that this movie was a huge let down.  It has been awhile since a movie actually put me in a "bad mood", but IM3 achieved this level of disapointment.  I don't have anything against Shane Black, but scenes from KKBB and LW were literally reused in this mess.  Grounded?  Come on.  I laughed all through the exploding human plot device.  I would like to know what patriotic soldiers, that literally gave life and limb, would be so damn loyal to a manic who really doesn't have any real motivation.  What was it?  Hated Stark?  Just a terrorist at heart?  What the hell was it?  The comedy...good lord it made me roll my eyes until my head hurt.  Yeah, I accepted Whedon's in Avengers, but that is Whedon.  You know what you are getting.  Tony Stark/Iron Man was reduced to be second banana throughout the whole movie.  As he talked, failed and looked like an idiot...everyone else saved the day.  I believe someone compared this to a Bob Hope movie in a review...I agree.  The Mandarian twist was a major, major let down.  Funny.  Yes, great...if that is what I wanted.  I laughed.  But, like everyone said...this is IM's Lex Luthor/Joker.   Magic rings take me out of the pic?  How about a lame villian shooting fire out of his mouth.  IM films have all be consistant in that the third act is the weakest.  I really expected more from this after IM2.  I give it a C minus.

 "Chow".

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Photos Emerge (Article) - 4/17/2013 5:57:48 PM

BTW, I don't think they can get Black Widow right.  They hired the wrong actor for the part.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Photos Emerge (Article) - 4/17/2013 5:55:11 PM

You know, looking closely at the picture that doesn't look like Chris Evans.  It looks like the actor who played Bucky.  Or,  perhaps it is just the storyline from the comics affecting my vision.

So, he is brooding and wears a black uniform.  I assume, after his internal struggle of adjustment, his red, white and blues will return in the third act.  Just a guess.  To be honest, Thor and Captain America were not "great" films.  They were entertaining at the moment.  Which is a good thing.  But, I've noticed, over time, the films don't maintain that level of excitement.  Iron Man remains the exception (except for the third act).

Electro IMAGES Surface (Article) - 4/16/2013 4:28:28 PM

Two of Spidey's lamest villians together on screen.  I thought the remake was pretty bad.  This isn't inspiring me to flop down cash to get a second helping.
