The Walking Dead: Alone Review (Article) - 3/12/2014 4:55:03 PM

Also...Here's what's driving me nuts lately with this slow pace...

Eugene (Or Mr. Mullett) is a Science teacher right? He's Mr. I'm Smart Dude... the first baby born in the post-Zombie Apocalypse....

What happens when Eugene sees Judith for the first time. Without reading the comics, we know they're on their way to Washington...So they think a cure or something can be made...

What happens when Mr. Mullett meets Miss. Baby Born of Post-Zombie Apocalypse?

Please writers...get over this Terminus crap...

The Walking Dead: Alone Review (Article) - 3/12/2014 4:42:51 PM

Here's where things get murky, Red...

1. I'm playing the Telltale Games....In that version of canon, bitten means to be turned into a zombie.

2. I've never read the comics yet. Comic readers can confirm/deny whether being bitten means to turn..

3. From a TV standpoint, I've seen the series since episode 1...and yet...I honestly can't remember the writers letting a bite go to fruition....Most bites occurred because the survivors were overrun and eaten to death...or somewhere vital (artery vein, neck, chest, etc)....Or somebody got bitten and wouldn't wait to see if they turn.

T-Dog sacrificed himself to save Carol after he was bitten. Dale got a bullet in the head after his guts were taken out...Rick chopped Hershel's leg off....Andrea took a bullet.

On the TV series, have we actually witnessed a survivor turn into a zombie through a harmless bite?

Murky waters.....But the video game canon *Day 1* says that a bite turns a survivor into a zombie. Not sure about the comic canon or the show canon...Somebody correct me if they remember better...

DC Comics Gay Character Revealed (Article) - 3/10/2014 5:10:12 PM

Yeah, I saw that on James Gunn's facebook. I know some aren't digging a comedy based in the Marvel Universe but isn't the Thor movies basically that? A dash of romance plus comedy....whereas this will take the romance out of the equation.

Actually looking forward to GOTG. Dug the first trailer and I like Gunn's style.

Well, she did say "That was nasty.." or something...and said the second sip went down better.

DDiaz, I'll agree that the trunk opening scene was cool and intense. The next 35 minutes fell flat though. It wasn't until the 40 minute mark before we saw Darryl break down...As someone said, it had to be explained on TTD that the Golf Country Club story arc was Rich Class vs. Working Class. And it's a point that probably didn't need to be made at this point in the series.

Much like last week where Rick was hiding under a bed to prove that there were "evil" people still out there that could take your life if you're in a weakend state. We already knew that too..

Totally understand that there's countless comics out there and sometimes not much happens in them. I love TWD but my only beef  these last two weeks is that this show isn't a 24-episode kind of series. As I mentioned in last week's comments, there's only a few episodes in this last half...until we have to wait for next fall. So why the writers are stringing this out is crazy. Make every minute count...Hopefully next week more of our favorite characters come together.

Totally agree on the music part, Stoned. That might be why some of the scenes felt like a miss this week and last week. Beyond the song at the end when they're "burning Darryl's past", they lacked that creepy tone score that was there anytime the Governor was doing his thing. Music is a big part of any great drama..

And yep momitchell, TTD behind-the-scenes clip showed that it was a class warfare thing. Guess both staff and wealthy members were there when the zombie incident took place and decided to stay there instead of going home?

Going GOT is totally fine too as long as they do it right. At the moment, IMO, they're giving too much screentime to filler vs. character development.

The Walking Dead: Still Review (Article) - 3/4/2014 6:54:01 AM

Pretty much what Hanso and your responses say above. Yet again, the writers chose to waste 45 minutes of an episode and have maybe 10 minutes of key character development between Darryl and Beth.

This comes a week after they spent 40 minutes with Rick hiding under a bed.

As Hanso says above in the recap, if the writers' goals are to bore us to tears before everyone gets to Terminus, they're succeeding.

I'm all for character development too. But it seems every episode is a quarter character character-driven vs. three quarters wasted air time that could be better spent towards the other characters...

The Walking Dead: Claimed Review (Article) - 2/24/2014 6:41:04 PM

Enter the Cesar Romero laugh somewhere here.... I love thee, Cesar Romero...

The Walking Dead: Claimed Review (Article) - 2/24/2014 5:20:53 PM

Stoned, I understand your mistake there. But here's the issue...Hanso has to place a grade. There needs to be a grade...And that's not his fault. As a former managing editor of this website, I made this clear in the comment section of Hanso's first recap. In order for it to show up under the Review section, there needs to be a grade. That's not Hanso's fault...that's something that the CMS requires.

Again...Hanso is providing these recaps so we (the fans) have a place to discuss TWD every weekend. He's doing it for free too. He's not doing it for professional accolades. That's basically why I asserted myself for him in this discussion. He's writing this weekly piece because he's a fan like us. Not for a check.

And now, back to the show itself..Not the last 5-7 comments siderailing it...

Alien, maybe Talking Dead is on Hulu or Xfinity's OnDemand? I know TWD is On Demand...I would imagine we could watch TTD sometime during the week if we miss the Sunday broadcast. Comic Book Men is definitely on OnDemand...and it was rather humorous this weekend. The Clerks staff went up against The Stash staff in a bowling match...

The Walking Dead: Claimed Review (Article) - 2/24/2014 4:16:57 PM

Yep, Alien...That was a question on Talking Dead too. If these bikers do return on the series, that one guy may remember Rick hiding under the bed. Due to the fact he was under a choke hold at the time he may not remember anything when he wakes up. But one never knows..

They could all meet each other at Terminus...These signs are everywhere apparently. It's to be expected that evil humans also see those signs, not just our TWD heroes...

Stonedtodeath: "You're going to criticize the writing in a T.V. show with bad writing of you're own?"

Hanso is just recapping a show so the readers have a place to write down their thoughts at our website. He's not looking for professional critic awards.. If you want to call people out on grammar, you shouldn't make mistakes on the post calling them out.
