Paramount Prepping New HEAVY METAL - Mar 14, 2008 - 05:23am
Interesting... because it was just announced yesterday that the previously unreleased score to the original film - written by Elmer Bernstein - is going to be (finally) released in a few weeks.

ANIMALS Set to Wipe Out Mankind - Mar 07, 2008 - 05:35am
Actually it's Tim Bedore, and his bit about the 'Great Animal Conspiracy." As soon as I read this, I thought of him, and sent him an email link to this page. And like Tim, I blame the squirrels.

WGA and AMPTP Aim Parting Shots Before Christmas - Dec 21, 2007 - 06:18am
Well, from what my friends in LA are telling me, the studios are getting letters by the *thousands* from pissed off television viewers, blaming the producers for this whole mess. And it is their mess. The producers - and their bosses at the corporate level - have seen what money can be made from the 'net and downloads and such - and being the greedy bastards they are - they don't want to share. The corporate suits have flat out told the negotiators NOT to negotiate with the WGA. Now, if the DGA and SAG continue to back the WGA, when it comes to *their* negotiations in the spring of 2008, the studios are going to be in a world of hurt. And the studios are already hurting. Corporate sponsors are demanding money back from companies due to lost advertising revenue streams. Coke, Pepsi, Nike, etc., are not going to pony up big bucks to advertise on reruns and reality television, and the studios have *already* paid back millions of dollars. I'm just glad I have a DVD player.

Whedon and Dushku Reunite For DOLLHOUSE - Nov 01, 2007 - 07:18am
I can see it now... Seven shows ordered... aired in the wrong order... millions of people love it... FOX screws the fans again and cancels it.

Guy Ritchie Confirms DIRTY DOZEN Remake - Oct 25, 2007 - 07:29am
Just proves hollyweird has no original ideas. Also, Tarentino is doing a "reimagining" of the same film, but at least he's not naming it 'Dirty Dozen." Even though it will basically be the same, it's called "Inglorious Bastards." And it's a safe bet it will be gazillions of times better than anything Madonna's husband can make.

Keanu Reeves Helps the EARTH STAND STILL - Aug 27, 2007 - 07:15am
Noo!!!!!! This was already a bad idea, remaking a classic sci-fi movie. but Keanu? "Like Whoa, klaatu barada nikto" "dude" We must stop this!!!!

Remake in Store for FANTASTIC VOYAGE - Aug 16, 2007 - 07:16am
God in Heaven No!!!!!! Fantastic Voyage is a classic sci-fi film? Why do these hack hollywood directors have to screw with great films? Emmerich is like Michael Bay - lots of eye candy, no story. No depth of plot or characters.

More TOS Characters in STAR TREK XI? - Aug 06, 2007 - 04:30pm
@ Redshirt1.. There was never an "interview" scene with Chekov, Kirk and Spock. Ensign Chekov appeared in Season Two, when Janice Rand left. His first appearance was in "Amok Time." In Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn, Kahn "recognizes" Chekov. But since "Space Seed" was a Season 1 episode, it was thought to be a mistake. Gene Roddenberry said "Chekov was on the Enterprise, just not on the bridge."

McGill Overseas BIONIC WOMAN - Aug 03, 2007 - 02:17am
I guess since McGill played "D-Day" in "Animal House", and "D-Day" happened "overseas" that he would "oversea" the project. I'm amazed this hasn't been caught by the editors and corrected.

Fox Pulls Out of COMIC CON - Jul 19, 2007 - 07:53am
Perhaps FOX is one the studios that are beginning to realize that their movies suck, and people want better fare. Or that people at CC wouldn't care about the differences between the different FOX entities and rip them a new one about all the great TV shows that are screwed with (Firefly, etc).

Aged INDY Picture Revealed - Jun 22, 2007 - 07:24am
It's amazing what you can do with makeup and digital retouching.

BSX presents SEPTEMBER DAWN by William Ross - May 21, 2007 - 07:23am
No word of prince? Well, it will be more than usual since it's from BSX. Ford Thaxton will see to that. So I will refuse to purchase it.

Academy to screen "Star Wars" - Mar 30, 2007 - 07:15am
Quick!! Everyone who can should attend and "demand" the OT on DVD in a new transfer. :) You can be sure what is screened is not going to be the original 1977 version of the film though.

"Star Wars" Stamps - Mar 29, 2007 - 07:41am
You just have to know that Lucas is making money off of this somehow. I bet he suckered the government into giving him a cut.

Michael Bay to make "2012: The War for Souls" - Mar 16, 2007 - 07:06am
Oh god, more idiotic reasons for people to actually believe this crap. It's bad enough that there are gullible, stupid people out there who believe the world is going to end in 2012, but now let's make a movie to perpetuate the untrue myth, to scare even more gullible people.

Cate Blanchett joins "Indiana Jones 4" - Mar 16, 2007 - 07:04am
Gee, I didn't think Cate's career was washed up. Either that or she's desperate.

Former Scribe Jendresen talks "Star Trek" - Mar 14, 2007 - 07:24am
Well, from what I had heard via my friends ou tin Hollywierdland, his "script" was never going to see the light of day. At the time, there was the whole shakeup with the bigshots at Paramount, Berman & Braga were on the way out (and they didn't even realize it yet). Studios have a habit of "hiring" someone to write a script, with no plans of actually making it into a film.

"Star Trek XI" Casting and Release Date - Feb 28, 2007 - 07:04am
I like the "Alex and Bob wrote an amazing script that embraces and respects Trek canon" line, when everyone knows that Kirk and Spock didn't meet at the Academy, according to Canon. And just what will Harve Bennett say about this, since an Academy movie was his idea back in the 1980's? I'm still of the mind that Trek should stay dormant for a while.

Shia LaBeouf joins "Indiana Jones 4"? - Feb 19, 2007 - 07:35am
I was thinking this could happen for a while. Indy's kid gets in trouble, and Indy and his Dad have to go rescue him.

Robert K. Shaye says "The Hobbit" in 2009 - Feb 19, 2007 - 07:32am
I hardly doubt that New Line will be making this film, unless they get right to it. It's been widely reported earlier that New Line loses the rights to it next year, and Saul Zaentz has publicly stated that when he gets the rights back, he will have Peter Jackson make the film. Robert Shaye is just talking out of his butt.

"Star Wars" 30th Anniversary DVD in the works - Feb 11, 2007 - 03:42pm
No flame. Not needed. We all know anyways.:) However, to the question of how many times will he release the films? As many times as there are gullible individuals who will pony up the money for them.

Alan Parsons Project Compilation Released – Plus Expanded Reissues Due - Feb 09, 2007 - 07:22am
Wow. With the Beatles news recently and now this, it's going to be a good year for great music.

Robert Zemeckis doing "John Carter of Mars"? - Feb 08, 2007 - 07:10am
I have been a fan of these book since I was a kid, and get my hopes up every time I hear of a possible film version. I've always thought it should be animated, because there's just no way the variety of characters in the book could be made realistic with CGI, even now. And it had better be good, if they do it. If this, and Clarke's "Childhood's End" were ever made into films, that would be the holy grail.

Spaceballs Extended Soundtrack Available Now - Feb 01, 2007 - 10:39am
I actually pre-ordered it when it was announced, and have one of the even more limited edition autographed copies.

A New Tribute Film Classics Record Label Announced - Jan 26, 2007 - 07:26am
Even though this had previously been announced on the various film music sites, it's great to see it announced on here. Those of us film score aficionados can't wait for these discs to come out.
