Disney's 10 Animated Films To 2012 - Apr 09, 2008 - 10:18am
Two questions:
1) Wasn't there a promo poster released for "Up?" Thought it was an old man standing w/an open door looking out onto...something, can't remember what.
2) Is Brittany Murphy still attached as the voice of tink? just wondering.
A Movie for Kids? - Mar 04, 2008 - 06:06am
disney is cool and all-- but dark is kinda what they do.
how about tackling the topic of tragic families?
bambi's mom is dead.
nemo's mom is dead.
lilo's parents are dead.
sleeping beauty's mom is gone.
chicken little's mom is dead.
belle's mother is either gone or dead.
simba's dad dies in front of him (ok, shakespear, i get it).
and those're just the ones i can think of right now. the disney universe is not a good place to grow up.
Latest Trailer for GET SMART - Feb 28, 2008 - 06:56am
EXFAN-- i try REALLY hard to respect other people's opinions...but if you can compare johnny english to GET SMART, your out of your mind. get smart came decades prior, had BRILLIANT comedy, and was created by MEL BROOKS.
I'm really excited for this movie-- the international trailer was posted a few weeks ago and also looked great.
Extra Scene Added to HALF BLOOD? - Feb 22, 2008 - 06:50am
cutting out "the other minister" (the first chapter) is a terrible idea. it's one of the best parts of the book.
CLONE WARS Hitting Theaters First - Feb 12, 2008 - 05:51am
does the style bug anyone else? the droids/stormtroopers/vehicles look awesome...but yoda and the humans look terrible to me.
i guess it's trying to look like the old series...but how can you have so many crisp/intricate details and then have hair that looks like a plastic hat?!
Paramount Confirms CLOVERFIELD 2 - Jan 31, 2008 - 08:08am
A) Shadow's the man- and 100% right.
B) Being a NYer and watching this movie makes it 10x better (or at least cooler). they got the subways down perfect. people who experiences 9/11 thought are gonna have a REALLY hard time getting through the beginning.
C) I think the sequel should follow the army's response and be big budget. If they were smart, though, they would have filmed scenes already from when the army meets up w/the original cloverfield crew.
Freddy's Back with a New NIGHTMARE? - Jan 07, 2008 - 08:03am
T-Kay-- i think i read there's a comic coming out which is the screenplay for freddy v jason v ash. the scenes/dialogue is still mostly the same, just in print instead of film. check it out. i really wanted that movie to get made...nobody can get his ass kicked like ash and still wreck people. and freddy and ash would've been really funny together.
Update: Oil Platform destroyed by CLOVERFIELD Monster - Jan 07, 2008 - 07:58am
nothing says "I'm popular and feminine" like callling ones-self popular and spouting obscenities on a freakin movie website.
this chicks a real winner....making her parents proud.
I AM LEGEND 2 On the Horizon - Jan 04, 2008 - 10:06am
so i'm really late on this story...but...this is dumb.
i bet $100 that there's a MUCH better ending that'll be released on the dvd edition, or at least an ending that stays true to the book (*SPOILER
the people he meets at the end are a different strain of the virus/vampire)
USA Network Cancels 4400 and DEAD ZONE - Dec 21, 2007 - 09:39am
i don't wanna be a conspiracy theorist...but USA used to LOVE having the 4400. i think NBC/Universal is simply putting all their eggs in one sci-fi drama basket now. the storylines are too similar to pair together in syndication (a virus that's killing everyone that's averted by the blood of a healer? oh yeah, 4400 did that 2 seasons ago, good job heroes. i understand that superhero fiction borrows from other superhero fiction, its just frustrating).
and thus concludes my rant. for now...
USA Network Cancels 4400 and DEAD ZONE - Dec 21, 2007 - 06:25am
i was a pretty big fan of 4400...and was looking forward to ssn 4 on dvd since i haven't gotten cable for the past year.
i really hope this is a series that can thrive in the sci-fi afterlife w/either comics or books. even though the acting was sometimes pretty lame, the stories were almost always a lot of fun.
HELLBOY 2 Trailer Hits Online Thursday - Dec 19, 2007 - 08:16am
i really enjoyed the first flick...and i've been reading news about this one for a while, but funny to note how different the marketing is for this than most movies now. they give a still shot a week or so ago, and now a trailer all of a sudden. just seems like the floodgates opened (Which i'm definitely happy about)
Wall-E - Dec 18, 2007 - 06:56am
music...sound effects...on screen narration...all freakin brilliant. what an amazing crew they've put together @ pixar...
(and hanso, if that's true...this trailer proved to me that they could pull it off)
New International Posters for DARK KNIGHT - Dec 14, 2007 - 03:38pm
hanso & gauley-- thanks for the heads up that it's w. enterprises!
i can't bring myself to watch the trailer...i kind of want to be 100% suprised...but i'm not sure.
and to completely contradict myself, i also found two-face pictures @ theluis.com (HAHA, they may be from the trailer though...i dunno since i haven't watched it)
scroll down if you want, good times!
New International Posters for DARK KNIGHT - Dec 14, 2007 - 10:18am
dont get me wrong...the posters very cool....
but is there anything else going on in there that i can't see?! reference to two face or joker or anything? and bats now rents out a penthouse instead of wayne mansion?
i'm pretty intrigued i guess...whats going on here?! why isn't he on a roof?
Alexander Opens Up on PUNISHER:WAR ZONE - Dec 08, 2007 - 01:01pm
i completely agree w/necro...if people judge this movie by this pic they've already got their minds made up.
it should be noted that i, adn i think the majority of people, simply thought this pic made him look like segal. it in no way influences the film or what i think about stevensons acting (which was awesome in rome...and he didn't run like a nancy, as segal does, so that's a plus).
First PUNISHER:WAR ZONE Pic - Dec 06, 2007 - 07:27pm
.....this is messed up. i really only see segal here. hahahhaha, nice.
HEROES: Powerless - Dec 05, 2007 - 09:53am
CRAP-- i forgot.
what i kinda like: since Sylar didn't die i think he's gonna be a CONSTANT in the series from now on. just like magneto or doc ock or dr. doom...he's a villian of that universe and is here to stay. i DID like that (hence season three "villians." we're gonna finally see a lot of bad guys w/powers (like 4400's been doing forever).
HEROES: Powerless - Dec 05, 2007 - 09:51am
HANSO-- i agree 95% with your first comment and really enjoyed it!
i have a couple issues w/the finale:
1) adam = michigan j frog. if you don't understand, wikipedia it. that's frustrating it itself (only thing i didn't agree w/hanso on is that they didn't need to show hiro/adam...hiro freezes time and throws adam in a coffin. nothin crazy)
2) poor micah will fear finale's forever. i think nikki's alive...not so much nathan (nathan's death turns peter from the naive hero to a stronger/hardened one)
3) did kring kill the twins story b/c they were unpopular?! if so that sucks. there was no need for them this season (if they are influential in 3 they shouldn't have been introduced until later this season...or at least been in FAR LESS episodes). i know i'm the only one that liked them...but i feel like they could have been cool in this episode if kring didn't pull the plug on 'em.
4)it's time for elle to even be on bobs side or not. i can't watch another whole season of internal struggle.
Cage Wants 'Global' Feel for NATIONAL TREASURE 3 - Dec 03, 2007 - 09:11am
i felt that the first 'treasure' was WAY better than the first 'pirates.' the action was cooler, story was more interesting, and it was funny when it wanted to be. lets hope the 2nd installment is more comprehensible than that of pirates.....
HEROES & CLOVERFIELD Cross Over - Nov 21, 2007 - 10:32am
umm-- i'm really liking this second half of season two, but am i the only one that thinks veronica mars is one of the worst actors on the show? almost every line she delivers is awkward.
but about the monster-- i definitely thought gamera...and it's weird that in the trailer you see the shadow of something attacking people. so does this thing change sizes?! it also looks a LOT like tokka (TMNT II), from shadows anyway.
Raimi Too Exhausted for SPIDER-MAN 4 - Nov 13, 2007 - 02:36pm
if proyas proved anything w/i, robot it's that if he understands source material he can do really good things with it.
i've loved raimi since the evil deads...but i agree that it may be time for him to gracefully bow out. a 4th is really pushing a franchise...this flick is gonna have a lot of hurdles to overcome (casting/creativity/attaching a new director).
i'm not very into the film industry, but i can't believe no one's begging for this since raimi's been questionable for so long. the lack of directors asking for it is slightly disheartening (as raimi says, the person needs to love spidey).
Kring Apologizes to HEROES Fans - Nov 08, 2007 - 11:26pm
METAL & GAULEY--
Are you serious?! If anyone of any importance at all EVER looks at this site (as jarrod said he's forwarding it), they'll be embarrassed that the fans of their show bicker incessantly like HS kids.
let it go. go make our w/your girlfriends. or boyfriends. or friend's girlfriends. whatever. just chill out and quit w/the message board pissing contest. thanks.
Kring Apologizes to HEROES Fans - Nov 08, 2007 - 09:17am
haha, can't believe i'm the only one rooting for the twins. like the fact that their powers are linked.
boooo.
i think they're way cooler than either elle (ass kicking cutie who lacks a conscience...we've already got nikki...umm, jessica) or the see it/do it chick.
Jack Nicholson Talks About Nolan's JOKER - Nov 08, 2007 - 08:00am
since everyone else is commenting:
Nicholson's version was awesome.
Ledger's will be.
this is MYTHOLOGY. a retelling. there's room for both.
Kring Apologizes to HEROES Fans - Nov 08, 2007 - 07:54am
seriously?! i REALLY enjoyed season one. i REALLY enjoy good story arcs. the problem w/the stories in season two so far (other than parkman/mohinder/molly) is that there's been no ARC. cheerleader has prohibited relationship w/creep, flatlined. hiro in the past, telling non-stories through scrolls, flatline. peter's story has been OK at best. my favorite addition has been the twins-- they only should have been traveling for an episode or two though, tops.
I don't need x-men. i don't need all action. i do need SUSPENSE though if that's what i'm told i'm getting. season one we were introduced to lots of new characters, we needed time to develop them. BUT, now we've got 'em, lets have 'em do something!
Mr. Kring (as if you're here)-- I, for one, appreciate the apology. you hit on EVERY reservation I had for season 2. thanks for being aware of your fans thoughts and constructive criticisms.
Mike Newell Offered PRINCE OF PERSIA - Nov 08, 2007 - 07:47am
i have faith this could be an awesome movie...but they need to keep the prince as he was in the first game (personality wise).
the actual 'sands of time' worked because they gave the player awesome control of a great character...is the movie gonna also have rewinding and fastforwarding?! that sounds terrible (ie, cage's NEXT).
maybe the sands are what the prince is trying to prevent the bad guy from getting? i dunno.
Vanderbilt Writing SPIDER-MAN 4 - Oct 31, 2007 - 10:59am
One and Two were almost the same movie.
i agree w/enough about the bad guys that aren't really BAD. doc ock being controlled by some stupid chip? terrible. lets have some dude who is just a bad guy, end of story.
'the rock,' as mentioned earlier, could be kraven since this vanderbilt dude did 'the rundown,' people like to stick together w/ a crew they know.
and i think revealing spidey as parker would be very cool-- you can only do the reveal so many times w/so many villians.
GOONIES 2 Getting Prepped Again? - Oct 24, 2007 - 10:22am
goonies is awesome.
has anyone watched it lately though? between the truffle shuffle (fat kids can't really be funny anymore because they're fat. they gotta be 'superbad' funny) and mouth's curses...they'd have a REALLY hard time making a new one that's just as much fun and still get a rating for young audiences.
i'm also all about this as long as they can come up with unique personalities for the kids. they can't just try to fill the old mold....
goonies never say die.
More Details on DARK KNIGHT Prologue - Oct 24, 2007 - 10:02am
SONY--- you're really calling batman begins a sequel? to what? it's like calling batman the animated series a sequel.
i'm pretty disappointed that this is the first five minutes of the flick. why do you want to see footage your gonna see anyway when the movie comes out?!? if it's only five minutes i think they could have spared a few dollars to give us some interesting prologue footage that'd be unique. after its showing on imax they could have waited a week, put it on youtube, and still advertised to millions.
the same number of people are gonna see Dark Knight regardless of this trailer clip.
SARAH CONNOR Begins Between 24 - Oct 17, 2007 - 01:51pm
the person called "skyn3t" likes something terminator related? might not be the most unbiased review.
i have no doubt though, that if made right, this could surpass heroes. while it'll bring on terminator fans...it might alienate a lot of people who don't like the series.
7 Minute DARK KNIGHT Look in December? - Oct 17, 2007 - 12:08pm
i agree, it probably means "prologue" to the dark night film. completely seperate. i don't wanna see film footage before the flick comes out...why ruin the suprise? this technique worked wonders for 28 days later 'cause it was a small film that needed to get the publics attention. dark knight would probably stand a decent chance though with no advertising at all.
and i think SONY's right. ledger looks and sounds awesome as the joker.
PS-- if anyone's read I, Robot, that movie was one of the only ways it could be made into a decent movie. the first 1/2 hour may be generic will smith laughs...but the ending keeps the spirit of the book 100%.
SARAH CONNOR Begins Between 24 - Oct 17, 2007 - 12:00pm
thank you, rgt, for actually reading the article.
the vieweship of heroes took a HUGE dive the 2nd half of the season last year...which is why they've created the origins show to keep people interested.
don't forget that fox managed to let Family Guy AND Arrested Development get cancelled....hugely popular shows on dvd. clearly they need someone to think their scheduling process through just a little more.
HALF LIFE 2 Rules Game Charts - Oct 16, 2007 - 01:12pm
regarding the system sales...i wonder if Wii would be outselling the others if the actual systems were available. demand doesn't seem to have lessened at all.
Two questions: 1) Wasn't there a promo poster released for "Up?" Thought it was an old man standing w/an open door looking out onto...something, can't remember what. 2) Is Brittany Murphy still attached as the voice of tink? just wondering.
