I would put in place a Judge Dredd form of Law Enforcement and make stupidity punishable by death.

10 Hottest Babes of Sci-Fi - Sep 17, 2008 - 07:09am
I disagree on most of these choices. Pretty much from 7-1 I'd have to say I disagree. If we're just going for "hotness" and not icon status, then there are plenty of other women who deserve the list. With the exception if you want to count Trinity from the Matrix, the superhero genre has been entirely overlooked. Anna Paquin as Rogue, Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde, Jennifer Garner as Elektra (Never cared much for the character, but she was pretty hot as Elektra). You have Linda Hamilton for her performance as Sarah Conner, but if you want sex appeal I think Lena Headly is a far better choice, and while we're talking Terminator, Summer Glau is damn sexy. Which then leads me to another series full of hot babes, Firefly. Morena Baccarin as Inara was very hot; and then there's Kaylee, the cutest mechanic in the verse played by Jewel Staite. You have Sil from species, which is a good choice; she's naked a lot and very attractive, but what about Space Girl from the 80's cult classic Lifeforce, played by Mathilda May. She's only wears clothes for about 1 second in the entire movie. Speaking of other "Space Girls" why not go more old school on us and pull Barbarella out, because Jane Fonda was pretty hot back in the day. Overall this list seems to be pretty "safe" in it's choices, there was no real raking over the genre, you took popular Hollywood faces, and a few classics and whipped together a list. But I think if you're gonna put together a sexy ladies list to appeal to our inner geek, a little more work is in order.

HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY - Jul 11, 2008 - 09:59am
I saw the film last night, and while beautiful, it left me kind of "meh" overall. The film lacked intensity and an engaging plot. Everything just felt like things were going through the motions. You never had any doubt about the outcome, and while there are some entertaining scenes, on the whole the movie just didn't do much for me. I felt the same way after the first movie too, but found myself enjoying it after seeing the directors cut because it added more character to everyone. With this movie, you know the characters for the most part, but there is something seriously lacking. I guess peril is what it lacks overall; what happens in the movie never really feels like it's affecting the planet, just the Hellboy and his clan. This fact makes the action in the movie seem less epic and more personal, and that they're not really saving the world just their little slice of it. I never read Hellboy so I don't know how either movie holds up to the comic, but this movie just lacks something overall that I'm guessing will be felt by most.
