Disney has released a new clip from Planes. The clip is a compilation of music and scenes from the upcoming film. The music was composed by Mark Mancina.

Official Boiler Plate: From above the world of “Cars” comes “Disney’s Planes,” an action-packed 3D animated comedy adventure featuring Dusty (voice of Dane Cook), a plane with dreams of competing as a high-flying air racer. But Dusty’s not exactly built for racing—and he happens to be afraid of heights. So he turns to a seasoned naval aviator who helps Dusty qualify to take on the defending champ of the race circuit. Dusty’s courage is put to the ultimate test as he aims to reach heights he never dreamed possible, giving a spellbound world the inspiration to soar”.

Planes features the voice talents of Dane Cook, Stacy Keach, Brad Garrett, Teri Hatcher, Cedric the Entertainer, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, John Cleese, Carlos Alazraqui, Priyanka Chopra, Gabriel Iglesias, Roger Craig Smith, Colin Cowherd, Sinbad, Oliver Kalkofe, Brent Musburger, Anthony Edwards and Val Kilmer.

Planes is directed by Klay Hall (Father of the Pride).

Disney’s Planes takes off in theaters on Aug. 9, 2013.

I know some people hate this but I think it's funny. ..

Recycle the plot from Cars, cash the check, rinse, repeat.

Um... of course, why not make a cheesy rehash of Cars (easily Pixar's worst movie and sequel)! But, now they have wings! Yeehaw.

Dazzler 5/16/2013 4:38:45 PM

I loved Cars so I am looking forward to it.

Muenster 5/16/2013 6:39:37 PM

Gosh, this movie looks familiar.

Well, most of the human larvae that liked Cars have pupated by now. The new batch will have a different version to gape at.

I can't wait for Boats! And then maybe Motorbikes! Maybe even Gadgets!

EW dot com had a funny article with fake movie posters about two weeks ago. It was funny because it ridiculed how unoriginal Hollywood is (and will continue to be).

One of the fake posters was Pixar's Ties (as in neckties). Tagline "welcome to their neck of the woods"  Too funny.

Home Alone Legacy with Jeremy Renner (and a cache of weapos). ha ha ha!

Nah... next it'll be Trains.  They are going in reverse from that old Steve Martin/John Candy movie.

irockdiesel 5/17/2013 2:16:30 PM

Hmmm... I noticed PIXAR's logo was no where to be found on that one.  I guess they are handling this one wholeheartedly....

Irockdiesel you stole my thunder.

I was just about to make the John Hughes reference myself. :-)

This is one reason Disney should [not] have acquired Pixar or Lucasfilm.

If they are not careful, the house of mouse will run these properties into the ground.
