It's so hard to pick favorites. There's no shame in loving the classics but what about our favorite B movies? Would my Mania membership be revoked if I admitted to multiple viewings of "Big Man on Campus" or "If Looks Could Kill"? My personal tastes are indefensible. These movies are endearing to me because of personal experiences and I wouldn't expect anyone else to love them the way that I do.
That being said, I love sci-fi and fantasy in general. I also love "true" tales of the paranormal. I love when the fiction and "non-fiction" cross over and influence each other as authors strive to find source material and witnesses grasp to explain their sightings.
Hey nell,
best war movies have to be, Braveheart ( first of it's kind really in my opinion), LOTR, Gladiator, are good ones to start with. =)
Hey Nell. So glad you like Lies of Locke Lamora. It's such a great book. It just gets better and better as you read on. I too love how the magic is there but is kind of in the background. And yes the characters seem unlikeable at first, (they aren't called the Gentleman Bastards for nothing) but you do get to love them. Let me know what you think when you are done. Man, talking about it makes me want to read that again now. Once I'm done with the Percy Jackson series I'll give it a re-read.
