TRUE BLOOD: Mine - Sep 24, 2008 - 07:36am
The series is starting to grow on me. I thought the 2 & 3 episodes were head and shoulders above the pilot. One little piece of info i found very interesting was when the bald vamp (sorry forgot his name) mentions the synthetic blodd and says "as if we could live on that". He could just be saying it's not very good (taste wise?)or he could be actually saying that it's a lie that they can exsist on that. Meaning people are not as safe as they think, and the vamps have a hidden agenda and probably are all still feeding on people! What do you think?
Lucasfilm/Del Rey Confirm 35 New Books - Sep 17, 2008 - 08:38am
Paul S. Kemp is the man! One of the best Fantasy writers out there today. I'm psyched to read his take on the SW universe!
HBO Goes on MANHUNT - Sep 16, 2008 - 12:53pm
Wow True Blood, no Preacher, now this? (Yawn) Can a TV station jump the shark?
Giant Robot Confirmed for TRANSFORMERS 2 - Sep 11, 2008 - 07:37am
This is good news. I'm looking forward to seeing Devestator, hopefully the dinobots (if you remember in the viral video's for the first movie you see a quick glimpse of Grimlock)
9/11 a moment of silence and reflection on the brave men and women who lost their lives and on where you were when it all went down, ........................................................... thank you, and for those who lost someone, my deepest condolences.
Will Smith is the New CAPTAIN AMERICA? - Sep 09, 2008 - 07:10am
Hey I heard another rumor that Carlos Mancia is up for the Lead role in the remake of Shaft. That makes as much sense as this ridiculous rumor. I think Will Smith is great, but he is best when he has a comedic essence to his character, he falls short when he is completely serious. Skin color asside, he is not the right actor for the role.
Aaron Eckhart Confirms Two-Face's Fate - Sep 04, 2008 - 11:50am
well two face IS dead after all.. hate to say I told ya so but.... and Giamatti as the penguin hmmm where have i heard that before? :P
The Manic Maniac: Superman vs. Everybody - Aug 22, 2008 - 12:32pm
I've just read the superhero hype article and I think people are jumping the gun. It was stated "We're going to try to go dark to the extent that the characters allow it". That statement doesn't mean they are going to try to make Superman a Batman clone as it pertains to being a "dark" character. But on the other hand I'm not sure what it means, possibly that superman isn't all that dark so they won't go too far with it. I'm hoping it means they will put Supes in a moral delema. Such as, sacrifice one to save many or having to kill the villian in the end to save lives or such.
The Manic Maniac: Superman vs. Everybody - Aug 22, 2008 - 06:44am
Hmmm.... I believe the convincing argument would be aerodynamics. But then again people also believe that there is not a convincing argument for the world being round or evolution as well. People see what they want to see and believe what they want to believe.
So let's see:
An non-human from a planet light years away, who crash lands on earth as a baby. Developes strength enough to move planets, super sonic speed, almost total invulnerability, super freezing breath, and shoots heat beams out of his eyes. And you choose to have a problem with him flying horizontally???
The Manic Maniac: Superman vs. Everybody - Aug 21, 2008 - 01:27pm
The problem I have always had with the Superman Movies (including Donner's) is a lack of a serious Villian. Lex Luther is made out to be an Idiot, comic relief at best. Even General Zod and crew were overly silly at times. The problem is not with Superman, the problem is with what do you have Superman do? Introduce a serious villian, that is truly menacing and up to the task of defeating superman/ taking over the world and the movie will take care of itself. Did anyone ever get that impression from Gene Hackman or Kevin Spacey?

Tyrese Gibson Edging Past Cube for A-TEAM? - Aug 20, 2008 - 11:57am
BA- Michael Duncan
Hannibal- George Clooney
Face - Matthew McConaughey / Brad Pitt (really any pretty boy actor)
Murdock - Robert Downey Jr.
Writers Begin Scripting POLTERGEIST Remake - Aug 20, 2008 - 11:47am
I love Poltergeist, it scared the crap out of me when I was a kid (I had a Charlie Mcarthy puppet I had to get rid of because of that clown scene lol). One of the first DVD's I ever bought. If they are going to do this remake, then for eveyones sake do it well!!! Why would you pick the idiots who penned Bogeyman???????
Oh and not to play devils advocate ( I'm a fan of man!!!!!!!) but wasn't there a rumor awhile back that they were indeed remaking frickin Jaws???? anyone remember that, anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
WB and DC Executives Talk Comic Properties - Aug 18, 2008 - 12:51pm
Holy Cr@p Monkeyfoot thanks for the link, that was awesome! Star wars meets V/ID4 meets Cloverfield! Def check out that link guys if you haven't already!!!!

STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS - Aug 15, 2008 - 06:21am
I agree mlaforcer. Merin was a very welcomed addition to this site. I am not a consistant writer, but I am a consistant reader (way back to Cinescape, even had the Mag delivered) on Mania. I do miss some of the "old crew" as well.
Top Maniacal Rumors: Miller's Lantern, Mignola Hell and Super Paris - Aug 15, 2008 - 06:13am
Mike Mignola ruined the first Hellboy? Tha's funny I personally thought the first Hellboy was a lot better then HB2. The first one was waaay more darker and serious. Although I liked the second HB it was a little corney. Could just be me though.
The 5 Best and 5 Worst Movie Breaches of Comic Book Canon - Aug 14, 2008 - 06:36am
I couldn't care less about bat nipples. The script and joel's wacky set design ruined that movie. It's a shame too I think Clooney could have been the best Batman to date if he had a good script.
The same goes for catwoman, Halle looked awesome, if they just had a movie to go along with that look it would have been great. I always thought the catwoman charater wasn't strong enough to hold a movie on her own though.
Galactus being a cloud , to me, is the absolute worst breach ever! One of the coldest and cruelest things about Galactus is that he appears to whoever is looking at him as themselves ...ie (humans see him as a large humanoid). The fact that you are seeing him usually meant your planet was about to be destroyed. So here's this giant human who's come to destroy our planet....cold.
CONAN Getting a Rewrite for Lionsgate - Aug 13, 2008 - 09:26am
Jake Gyllenhal is a perfect example that alot of actors can "bulk up" enough to pull off conan. I would rather have a good actor thats not as big as Arnold, than an Arny clone that can't act. Oh yeah Beastmaster is one of my favorite Sword/Sorcery movies. Rip Torn Rocked! Interesting Easter Egg in the dvd ;)
Universal Acquires Robert Jordan's WHEEL OF TIME - Aug 13, 2008 - 09:18am
I tried reading this series once. But when I realized I was reading an entire chapter revolving around how the main characters should cross a river, I gave up. Life is too short for such long windedness.
Belyaev's AMPHIBIAN Coming to the Big Screen - Aug 12, 2008 - 06:29am
Don't forget Superman 2, and Empire Strikes Back. As for TDK being The Sequel I think ESB has something to say about that ;)
Crowley Unlocks Mystery With The DOGS OF BABEL - Aug 06, 2008 - 09:40am
Honestly??? How in the blue hell does this stuff get made? Anyone on here could come up with a better concept for a movie in 30 seconds then this piece of crap! WTF!!!!! Is hollywood really that void of ideas!?! I know we joke about that all the time but this!!!!!REALYY!!!! Please tell me this is a joke please. please, please!!!!! My head hurts.
Sony Moving Forward With VENOM - Aug 01, 2008 - 07:38am
I don't know the details Joey, but I read that Sony just paid Marvel to extend Sony's licensing of Spiderman.
New X-MEN Spin-off in the Works? - Jul 31, 2008 - 01:43pm
I thought it was ok. Not great, not bad, just ok. Legder was fantastic, but I don't like Bale as Batman. I can't get past his bad Clint Eastwood impression.
Sony Moving Forward With VENOM - Jul 31, 2008 - 12:21pm
eh...the whole spiderman series of movies bored the piss out of me. The spiderman movies are goofy. I read the comic for a long time, granted it's not a dark comic by any means but c'mon! Tobie Mcwhiner as spiderman sucks, Kirstin Dunce can't act and was a HORRIBLE choice as MJ. Reboot the whole series, go with Mysterio, Morbius, The Lizard, or Kraven.
WB's MARVIN THE MARTIAN Flies to the Big Screen - Jul 31, 2008 - 12:04pm
Hmmm flies in a space ship and can blow up the earth but gets trapped in a gift box? OOOHH Thats funny right, I get it now hahahaha ......ugh :\
SDCC Update: TRON 2 Footage Online - Jul 29, 2008 - 01:23pm
eh... i need to see a real trailer before i get excited. This looked like a fan put it together for the "tube" sans Jeff Bridges of course. The bikes def need to turn at 90 degree angles, otherwise what's the point.
SDCC: McG Praises Bale in TERMINATOR - Jul 28, 2008 - 09:48am
As long as he doesn't use that god awful "batman voice" he should be great in this role.
Slew of Actors Join Action GALLERY - Jul 28, 2008 - 09:46am
Haha I agree Unbiased. Ooo so it's an action movie with comedy you say? What an original idea, I wonder what it will be like. Haha
SDCC: 4 Minutes of CLONE WARS - Jul 28, 2008 - 09:37am
wow jetpackjesus, nice post, maybe i just didn't look into the motivations of anakin that much, but you hit on some really good points.
As for this "movie", It looks childish and poorly done to me. The animation is not that impressive. As for the whole clone wars... I'm bored with it. I have trouble caring for a cloned ancestor to a stormtrooper,or the monotinous droid after droid armies (Yawn), sorry George. I just don't understand why he keeps going in this direction. Why not tell us some stories about Han, Luke and Leia that we don't know. Or how about Dark Force Risng, in CGI? I'm sure Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamil would do the voice overs. Hell thats how Mark pays the bills now a days. I just found those characters much more interesting. I think George is sick of hearing that and since he seems to have an ego the size of the deathstar, he continues with these lame characters telling the same story (clone wars) over and over out of spite.
Update: First WATCHMEN Trailer Online - Jul 21, 2008 - 07:40am
I loved the comic(s)when i read them, way back when. After seeing the trailer, all i can say is thank the maker this was in development hell for so long. Watching the trailer i was thinking over and over, "yes!", "yes!", "yes!". This is the time for the watchmen, a perfect antithisis (sry spelling is not my strong suit) for all the superhero movies out now, not to mention the effects have caught up to the comics. It looked awesome, and if the trailer is any indication, they nailed the feel of the books down cold. Unfortunately , i still feel the main stream movie-goers won't get this movie. But I myself cannot wait for this! I just might have to reread the comics again :)
Box Office Update: KNIGHT Captures Box Office History for WB - Jul 21, 2008 - 06:59am
Ok saw it last night. Just a few Observations:
1) C. Bale is a great Bruce Wayne. A horrible Batman. He just brought down every scene he was in with that Horrible Clint Eastwood impersination of a voice he uses for Batman. Heath is magical in every scene and Bale destroys it.
2) I give major Kudos to them for trying to make a "Mature" superhero movie. It was more of a crime drama than a fantasy. In that i think they succeeded. With that said, I think the movie tried to include too much. The whole ferry boat plot line was too long and took away from the movie itself. I know it was supposed to show the fickle morality of people, but it (for me) dragged on and slowed down the end of the movie.
3) Killing off two-face was a bad idea. I know some think he is not dead. But c'mon he was lying on the ground with both eye's open and not moving. If they bring him back, that would be even worse than killing him off after that scene.
4) Catwoman as a main villian (if they chose to do that)is a really bad idea. Catwoman is not that "evil" to be a main. If they bring her in as a love interest and a middle of the road villian that would be better IMO. The played all their cards in this movie. Using the Joker and two-face. Where do they go now? For me every other villain i can think of will be a let down, dare I say a "jump the shark" waitng to happen.
It's all just my opinion, take it for what it is.
First Official Trailer for EARTH STOOD STILL Online - Jul 07, 2008 - 07:00am
I just saw the trailer. I too love the original, but unlike most posters, I liked what I saw in the trailer. The role is perfect for Keanu (Keanu"whats my motivation?" Director" uh... Just be yourself Kea" lol). I for one like the idea or it being the aliens saving the earth from us. I think thats a great twist on the original plot. Def more modern than us threatening other planets,(why would a race so beyond us in technology be afraid of a bunch of hairless apes hurling exploding rocks at each other?)we haven't even gotten out of our own solar system yet. I'm looking forward to this film, I like what I saw and the glipse of Gort was awesome! BTW I agree with other posts, J. Connelly needs to eat a sandwhich. I don't understand why these actresses want to look like twigs, when most men like a girl with curves?
Hulk's Louis Leterrier Leading TITANS Remake - Jun 27, 2008 - 06:49am
Why is everyone drooling over a god of war movie? It's a video game, and as we know movies based on video games are always top notch. Uwe will probably direct it, and make it oh so craptastic.
Stan Winston Passes Away at 62 - Jun 17, 2008 - 08:47am
RIP Mr. Winston:
The movie world will be a far less colorful place without you. Thanks for all the chills and thrills.
DVD Review of The Cottage - May 05, 2008 - 06:15am

X-Files 2 Title Revealed by Carter - Apr 18, 2008 - 09:31am
I am looking forward to this movie. Maybe if it does well fox will bring back the TV show. One can only hope :)
McConaughey Is the New MAGNUM P.I? - Apr 07, 2008 - 10:05am
Dirty Harry! The Bandit! God don't give the follywood idiots any ideas! Move along all you no talent or imagination follywood suits, nothing to see here :)
Charlton Heston Passes Away at 84 - Apr 07, 2008 - 07:49am
He was one of the finest actors of any generation. I own and watch POTA and 10 Commandments at least once a year. I know it's small but I always loved the scene in Waynes World (2?) where he replaces the bad actor at the gas station. Just to show what a real actor can do with any script. You'll truly live on in your great works! RIP Mr. Heston.....
REAPER: Acid Queen - Mar 31, 2008 - 12:19pm
are these new episodes? I thought the show was done for the year? DAMN if these r new, i took reaper off my tivo list!!!!!!!!
Official HULK Site Launched & More. - Mar 15, 2008 - 06:46am
just to play devils advocate. :) there was no one by the name of bruce banner in the 70's incredible hulk tv series, i know picky picky lol
CBS Picks Up MYTHO X and U.K's NY-LON - Feb 28, 2008 - 06:12am
actually i was wondering why these shows are even mentioned on this site. IMO they are not "mania type" shows. sry haven't had coffee yet, so actually having something to say as to what is a "mania type" show and why these show's aren't it, is not a possibility just yet.
Truth Against the World - Feb 16, 2008 - 05:49am
Not bad, if that was your first attempt at writing that is.
CLONE WARS Hitting Theaters First - Feb 12, 2008 - 06:39am
i don't think it's greed that motivates Lucas. He is doing something he loves. Please how many here can say they do something they love for a living. Also, it's not just Lucas people, he has a large group of employees that need to work and get paid to support their families. I for one am looking forward to this, there was no mention of voice actors though. Im not sure if they had mentioned that in an earlier arcticle, but i am curious to see who they have.
Jaws Star Roy Scheider Passes Away - Feb 11, 2008 - 07:58am
A great actor, from Jaws and Blue Thunder, to Seaquest. Thanks Roy, you'll be missed!
Glimpse of Krauss for HELLBOY II - Jan 29, 2008 - 07:09am
I'd be surprised if anyone here hasn't already, but the animated features (blood and Iron IMO was the better of the 2) are excellent! Def worth checking out!
Glimpse of Krauss for HELLBOY II - Jan 29, 2008 - 06:50am
I'd be surprised if anyone here hasn't already, but the animated features (blood and Iron IMO was the better of the 2) are excellent! Def worth checking out!
WGA and Marvel, Lionsgate Sign Interim Deals - Jan 25, 2008 - 11:05am
Kudos to Marvel! Well on the X-men thread. One thing that hasn't been brought up. How about a new Villain? I love magneto but three films is enough! How about Mr. Sinister, or the Hellfire club, or Omega Red, ANYBODY! It's almost as bad as superman with Lex Luthor (not quite but it's getting there). At least the batman franchise used a variety of Bat's villians.
A HELL RIDE Trilogy on the Horizon? - Jan 25, 2008 - 09:56am
Hey Mlauzon I'm getting married in Peggy's Cove in june! Not sure why you would care but saw the Halifax NS and thought I'd tell ya lol. Oh yeah the movie sounds great to me :)
Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight - Jan 25, 2008 - 08:19am
I too got bored with Jordan's work and Tolkein IMO doesn't hold up well at all. That being said Autumn IMO is just as boring. I love some of the characters Raistlin, Burfoot, and Fizban (sorry for the spelling it's been a while since i read the books), but the other characthers are just D&D carboard cut outs. Does anyone really care about Tanis? What a forgetable character! I would love to see Wizards of the coast do something with Forgotten Realms, but considering the lousy job done with dragonlance, maybe some things are better left untouched.
BLUE HARVEST Wins in DVD Sales - Jan 25, 2008 - 06:38am
Am I the only one that thought this was the worst thing Family Guy has put out? By worst i mean amusing with a chuckle here and there but nothing to write home about. I love most of their stuff, but this was so-so.
Casting Begins for Carpenter's GOTHIC - Jan 18, 2008 - 12:46pm
i disagree swansong. i think the thing and escape could easily be redone or pt2/pt3. The thing was essentially about a killer alien who could look like anyone, trying to assimilate (sry spelling?) all those around it and the paranoia that, that would generate. Not sure why that would not work today? Escape once again IMo about a country where the all powerful goverment has suspended a lot of rights and crime has gotten so out of control they just cut off a piece of land and sent every extremely bad element there. The world is on the brink of war and terrorists/freedom fighters take over airforce one and crash it. The president is then held hostage by the criminals. Once again, not sure why that wouldn't work today? Can you expand on your opinion on why these films wouldn't work today?
Norrington Leading CLASH OF THE TITANS - Dec 14, 2007 - 08:54am
"By the way, Ray Harryhausen rocks!"
I whole heartely concure doublerdiner, He was a true master of FX. I loved this movie, but my fav of his was always Jason and the Argonauts, the fighting skeleton scene is truly a masterful work!
Five Minutes of CLOVERFIELD Online - Dec 14, 2007 - 08:49am
I for one am looking forward to seeing this. It looks like a refreshing take on the "giant monster" movie. This looks engaging and entertaining, that is as long as I don't get motion sickness ;)
First Trailer for 10,000 BC - Dec 13, 2007 - 02:38pm
hmmmm.... not sure about this one. Visually it looked great. But i am having a little trouble with something... did people speak perfect english (with an english accent) around 10,000 BC? :). I'll rent it and put my brain on the coffee table and prob enjoy it for what it is. Good effects, some action, swiss cheese plot, and total disregard for historic time lines.
Updated: AvP Intro & look at the PREDATOR Planet - Dec 12, 2007 - 09:24am
i just saw the clip. The Sleeper has awoken ;), yeah that was a craptastrophy. Did anyone else wonder (and correct me if I'm wrong), if the predators have been hunting the aliens for what appears to be centuries, then why wouldn't they suspect that a pred that just came from an area invested with aliens might have ONE IN HIS CHEST! Hmmm let's just leave Harry (good name for a pred :)) here in the middle of the ship, no guards or monitoring equip necessary. We don't need to take an xray or mri or anything (hmm is that a tumor or is harry pregnant?). What ? Harry had an alien in his chest oh no! ........Frickin Ridiculous!
Updated: AvP Intro & look at the PREDATOR Planet - Dec 11, 2007 - 09:07am
"First off, that planet doesn't show any of the same design elements we saw in the Predator ships from the original movie"
That has always been a pet peeve of mine in SF movies. Why do alien tech and species from the same planet always look exactly the same. Here on little old earth there is extreme diversity in our appearance and arch/tech design. Why do we always assume other planets would be consistent in there appearance? Maybe it is to give that "alien" look..."they're so different from us because they are all the same" i don't know..... any thoughts?
Wanted!: Writers for Live Action STAR WARS - Oct 15, 2007 - 09:13am
I'm not completely familiar with all the SW canon so let me know if this could work..... How about an arms dealer who sells weapons to the rebels, but is an agent for the empire. In reality though, is a double agent for the rebellion. And he is doing this all (the agent stuff) not because he wants to but because he is cornered into doing so (he is a coward, but inside there's a brave soul). That might work.
LAND OF THE LOST Returns For Universal - Oct 10, 2007 - 08:49am
i used to watch this as a kid. It WAS cheesy but good at the same time. I didn't realize until reading metalwaters plot summary, how good and complexed the plot for a Sat morning kid show, land of the lost really was. (is that even a sentence? Sorry hopefully you get my point lol)
Tyrese Gibson For GREEN LANTERN in JLA? - Sep 28, 2007 - 02:38pm
How about Samuel L. Jackson? "I'll take this 90 ft Green-Glowin MotherF*&%ing boot, and shove it up your MotherF*&%ing A$$!" That might work :)
Zack Snyder Updates WATCHMEN - Sep 26, 2007 - 10:31am
Whiskey:
I would recomend not reading the source mat before you see the movie. I know I have nothing to base this on except my own past history. I have found that if a book/graphic novel is fantastic the movie never lives up to it and I'm disappointed in the movie. But if I see the movie first, then go back and read the book, I tend to enjoy both. I think Watchmen will fall into this catagory. The graphic novel is too complexed to transpose well onto the big screen. I think a mini series on HBO would have been a better way to truly capture it's essence. I know I haven't seen one frame of the movie, yet I'm passing judgement already. Well I hope I'm wrong but.....
New Line Likes BIONIC MAN Spoof - Sep 14, 2007 - 08:17am
The six million dollar man was my favorite show as a kid (yes i''m that old lol).I still catch it in reruns when they're on. I would also like to see a serious updated version of this. I think Robot Chicken already did the spoof thing on this. They called it the six million peso man, actually pretty funny.
BSG, Star Trek, Scantly Clad Women, and More... - Sep 14, 2007 - 08:10am
you said you were filming. Will we be able to see your film someday? I've never gone to Comic con or Dragon con and i am very interested in doing so. I would like to get a feel for it beforehand since I live in NJ and it would be a decent haul to either. If your documentary/newcast isn't available are there ones you could recomend? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Pitt & Norton Reunite For STATE OF PLAY - Sep 12, 2007 - 10:06am
One possibilty Raulendymion is to get people talking/writing that the original poster is crazy and such. Which in turn starts a thread of conversation. Hence an opinion that goes against the majority with nothing to back it up.
BTW IMO I thought fight club was one of the most original and thought provoking movies I have ever seen. It's one of my favorites that I can watch over and over and come away with a new angle of perception involving a scene and/or dialogue.
HD IRON MAN Trailer Online Now - Sep 10, 2007 - 08:45am
I didn't really care too much about this movie. Until I saw the trailer OMG, that was great! Robert Downey is pulling off Stark well (so far). I liked the use of Sabbath personally. I liked the fact that when he flew he was a little wobbly. I'm guessing that was early on and he was still getting used to it, or it could deal with the fact that the suit wasn't extremely aerodynamic, a nice little touch. Good job so far!
HALLOWEEN Slashes Labor Day Record - Sep 04, 2007 - 11:33am
i really liked RZ's Halloween. I liked the take on giving a new back ground on Michael Myers. The "white trash" living in the suburbs, comes from their father/husband passing away and leaving the family without a steady income. So the mom shacks up with a dead beat and has to turn to gogo dancing to pay the bills. (now that never happens right, how unbelievable)
I also went into this movie not comparing it to the first (which is one of my favorite movies).I thought it worked and i like that RZ took chances with it and didn't just do the movie exactly like the first. I liked it for what it was, a good slasher drive in (which is where i saw it BTW) movie.
HALLOWEEN - Aug 31, 2007 - 09:50am
Thanks mlauzon I WAS going to see this this weekend. Nothing like finding out things about a movie before you go see it. What a tool.
Gough Gives Season 7 Details of SMALLVILLE - Aug 30, 2007 - 08:22am
i used to watch this show religiously. Haven't seen it regularly since season 4 i believe. It sounds like a lot of interesting stuff has been going on, i'll have to rent it and catch up, the super girl eye candy doesn't hurt either :)
The New Face of Wizards: Paul S. Kemp - Aug 24, 2007 - 08:13am
A Great series so far. I am one of those Paul mentioned. I started with Shadowbred and am now purchasing the first series about Cale. If you like your fantasy spoon fed, light and fluffy this series is not for you. What I would describe it as is hardcore fantasy in the vien of the Elric saga. Four out of Five Stars. A very good read!
Gugino Ready for a RIGHTEOUS KILL - Aug 23, 2007 - 08:35am
she falls for DeNIro? Does she have Daddy issues in the movie????? BTW Bobby D and Al's scene in Heat was like eating carboard. It fills you up but has no flavor.
Fox Looking for DARKEST HOUR - Aug 23, 2007 - 08:32am
oooh, working on a series for Sci Fi Channel. Then everything he's doing must be good!
Five Clips from Zombie's HALLOWEEN - Aug 22, 2007 - 02:39pm
Well I am looking forward to this. I loved the first one and I enjoy Rob Zombie's movies (ok I really only enjoyed Devils Rejects). But I think your being WAAAAY to picky if you are critcal about his size and hair. IT'S A FREAKIN SLASHER MOVIE!!!!!! If You remember in the orignal Micheal is pretty big and strong as well. This is Halloween, not Star Trek. This is in the vein of Friday the Thirteenth (another series with an unstoppable LARGE person) where you have to suspend some disbelief. I respect your opinion concerning realism in cinema but come on!
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS RPG 4th Edition Announced - Aug 17, 2007 - 01:57pm
I haven't played in what feels like a 100 years lol. I saw people talking/writng about the value of old D&D books. Does anyone know if the Demigods & Deities book with the Elric of Melnibone and Gray Mouser lore in it is worth anything?
UPDATE: DARK KNIGHT Photos Online... - Aug 17, 2007 - 01:44pm
I never had a problem with the IDEA of changing his voice. It's just that to me Bale sounds kind of Dirty Harrish (is that a word?). Which IMHO made it a little campy.
Some Details on 1-18-08 & Poster - Jul 30, 2007 - 02:47pm
Ok a few comments....
1) I think at one point everyone had said it was a giant monster in one way or another. But if people want credit for it, your cookies are in the oven ok?
2) I could be wrong but wouldn't King Kong be the first giant american Monster? Actually wasn't godzilla japan's version of King Kong? I 'm not sure so can someone let me know if I'm right, I want my cookie too lol!
New Ad Campaign for 1-18-08? - Jul 24, 2007 - 10:53am
guys come on , I really find it hard to believe it's a Rampage movie, or even a Lost movie. It's just a "monster" movie. All the hype this movie is getting, I wonder if it will ever live up to it. It's a shame because I am a huge fan of giant monster movies and if done right this could be great. But on a budget of 30 mill (i know, money does not make a film great by any means but it helps) I don't have my hopes up.
Spacey Returns as Luthor in SUPERMAN - Jul 11, 2007 - 11:37am
i guess i'm one of the few who Didn't like Spacey as Lex. Then again I didn't like Gene Hackman either. I'm surprised everyone seems comportable with Lex Luther being protrayed as a whiney, trantum taking joke that is more comic relief than villian. The Lex from the comics (and the modern cartoons) was/is ruthless, intelligent, and every bit the match for superman. Even Michael Rosenbaum on Smallville does a better job as Lex IMO.

Thanks Merin, I appreciate you taking the time to write that out. Enlightening and very interesting; some great ideas about what needs to be done!

#11 Merin
Merin I'm interested in what you would do to stop this trend (not believing in evolution/believing in creationism). I always thought the easy part was complaining about something, but what to do about it is another matter. From reading your comments i gathered the impression you are an educated individual, so any ideas? If you were President Merin what would you do about it?
New Line Drops MEG Movie - Jul 06, 2007 - 01:38pm
spiderhero i agree with you completely. Jaws happens to be one of my all time favorite movies. I finally read the book, and found it not worth the paper it was printed on. Speilberg turned a really bad book into a masterful movie. MEG is actually (IMO) a better book than Jaws. Meg the movie will prob never compare to Jaws but I would be interested to see a good director's vision of the story.
TRANSFORMERS - Jul 05, 2007 - 03:45pm
one question I have and i hope someone can answer it. Durng the previews before the Transformer movie, there was a teaser trailer with no movie title. It seemed to start at a party in some large city (possibly new york) and then suddenly a "giant monster" was creating havock in the city. The only evidence for the "monster" was an explosion and a roar of sorts. Does anyone know what i'm talking about?
TRANSFORMERS - Jul 05, 2007 - 03:17pm
Merin I didn't even write my opinion on this one. lol
KILL BILL 3, 4 Details Emerge? - Jun 27, 2007 - 09:31am
I may not be on the same level as some who post here. It's seems a lot of you are prob film students (and know what/who an auteur is lol). Me..., I just really like movies, I can tell bad acting from good, notice plot holes, and generally my opinions about movies are on even keel with most of you (most of the time haha). I don't know where i am going with that other than to say here's my opinion take it for what it is.....QT has had "his movies" such as Bill 1 & 2, Res Dogs, Pulp, Jackie Brown. But don't forget movies that he wrote, or helped write, such as Dusk till Dawn, True Romance, Natural Born Killers, and Uncredited rewrites for Crimson Tide and the Rock. Like him or not that is a pretty impressive list of movies to create or help create by anyone's standards.
