Movie Franchise Comparisons
(Sat 04/21/2007 05:10pm)You know, this is going to be too much work to reformat it to fit here. What I'm going to do is provide a link to the spreadsheet -
here
or
here
and then open the blog up for discussions.
Bond was more successful than I had thought, but that success is largely due to the monetary jackpots of the first couple films plus the acclaims of the most recent.
Star Trek, overall, was more successful than I thought too.
Superman far less than I had anticipated.
I guess I could have included X-Men, but seeing that X3 made the most money would be too much to bear again. :(
In any case, you'd think investors would want to make many, many more micro movies for the potential in profits. Titantic doesn't compare, profitably, to Blair Witch or Clerks. You could finance over a hundred of the latter for the price of one of the former.
In any case, I don't think Spider-Man can ride the LotR / Harry Potter wave. I'm open to disagreements here though!
