Pete Postlethwaite Passes Away (Article) - 1/3/2011 4:52:49 PM

A huge loss in the acting world!

First Look at 3D MUSKETEERS (Article) - 12/27/2010 4:35:38 PM

I was not even aware of this movie.  Being a little bit older may I suggest that those above check out the early 1970's The Three Musketeers/The Four Musketeers starring Michael York, Oliver Reed, Richard Chamberlain & Frank Finlay as the Musketeers along with Raquel Welch, Charlton Heston, Faye Dunaway & Christopher Lee.  Talk about a star studded cast eh!!!

5 Things To Do Until The Walking Dead Is Back on the Air (Article) - 12/14/2010 3:47:22 PM

Hey Joe >>>>>> great list gives me something else to think about while TWD is on hiatus.  I am tempted more and more to pick up the TPB of TWD but not yet.......but it is getting harder to resist.  Oh and for two quotes from Return of the Living Dead "Send more Cops!!!!!!" and "This way you stupid Honkey!"  I can still remember seeing this one at my local movie theater and laughing my A$$ of through the whole thing.....everyone else was all serious.....why I am not sure but the comedy was not lost on yours trully!!!

The Walking Dead: Mania TV Review (Article) - 12/7/2010 6:28:48 PM

First off this was a great run of episodes and like all the rest of us I wish there had been more.  The opening with Rick and Shane was good to so we can see how Shane thought Rick was dead so he did not technically lie to Lori.  Its going to be a long wait until we get new episodes.  Now those military personnel who got their asses handed to them they were probably following orders and most junior troops do what they are told but you have to be able to make decisions when a situation breaks down.

Lastly I have no idea what Dr. Jenner told Rick, since I have not read the books, but I would guess it might be all of the things I have read here so was a rather long "let me tell you these things before I die here" conversation.  Hopefully it was some good and some bad info for our band of geek survivors.

The Walking Dead: TV Review (Article) - 12/1/2010 10:36:03 AM

Wiseguy>>>>>> I was also stationed at Camp Geiger back in 1990-1991 as a Comm Center Operator (2542).  OOORAH to u as well!!  Do you agree with me on how fast our society would collapse in this situation??  I also love how everyone wants to grab a tank or a .50 cal when they are left in the street.  We both know they are not easy to drive/handle even for trained personell!!  And the fact that they will slow you down as well!!  Now I am all  for running down some geeks with an M1A1 or ripping them apart with a .50 cal but I am pretty sure none of our survivors knows how to use them.

Thorn>>>>>> I was proud to serve this great nation as my forefathers have done before me.  I love this show and the fact that it treats is viewers as more than just bags of water with no brains.  When you have a well thought out show the viewership will draw in people who would not usually watch said show.  See BSG!!

The Walking Dead: TV Review (Article) - 11/30/2010 9:58:44 AM

First off I loved what I saw of this episode (even though I watched it twice I was on the phone the whole time.....ahhh the single life has its up and downs) and I still like where the show is going.  And I am still adamant about not reading the comics, however its getting harder and harder not to give in.

I also notice that a lot of people on here keep asking "how could our society crumble so fast in this zombie epidemic?"  As a former active duty USMC Corporal I can tell all of you that it is entirely possible.  Our society is so "user friendly" today and people today take soooooo much for granted (myself included to a point) that it could all collapse in just this kind of situation.  If enough of the "right people" get sick and become zombies and if we get conflicting reports from news and government one small outbreak can lead to diaster.  And if it happend all over the country/world at the same time.......well I think my point is coming across clearly.  I welcome anyone's thoughts on the above and of course the season being over this coming Sunday.......DAMN IT!!!

Walking Dead: Vatos Review (Article) - 11/24/2010 6:07:24 AM

JoeArtistWriter>>>>>> 1st thanks for taking the time to answer all of our questions.  2nd you are right about Rick just going inside the "Vatos" compound like that but I can surmise that his experiences as an officer of the law he can read people better than you or I could.  I am always amazed at the instincts that cops have although I myself would not have just gone in blindly like that.  However by showing "good faith" it may pay off for our survivors later on!  After all the living are going to have to "co-operate" at some point in order to survive in the zombie apocaplyse.  And I use the words "co-operate" very liberally!!  The "Vatos" already told us that there are more takers than givers in this upside down world of theirs!!

Walking Dead: Vatos Review (Article) - 11/23/2010 12:53:35 PM

Thanks LocoLobo73 >>>>>> I must have missed them but I will see the episode again before next Sunday's new episode.  And you are right they do seem to be able to anticipate our questions rather well....although for anyone who has had handcuffs on before (and not in the kinky sense) they are not easy to cut through!!  Still I am more that satisfied with the way the show is progressing as it has become my #1 show in such a short time!!  Long may the dead walk aimlessly on AMC!!!

Walking Dead: Vatos Review (Article) - 11/23/2010 6:53:58 AM

Ok this episode was great too.....had me on edge the whole time.  Man when that last episode airs and then we have to wait for more I know that I am going to experience serious withdrawl issues the likes I have not had for some time with a TV show!!

erkman12 >>> I am not so sure that Merle led the walkers to the camp on purpose they may have been following him regardless.

I also had an issue with the plan that Rick came up with when they ran into the "Vatos" but it was good to see that at least he put T-Dog in a sniper position.  However at the camp there was no sniper or anyone on guard while the fish fry was going on???  WTF this is the zombie apocalypse after all and there must be thousands of them in the city right!!  No kind of early warning system either right??  Now don't get me wrong I ma glad that anyone can get eaten at any time but some common sense needs to be employed here.  It must be my old USMC instincts kicking in here!!

WALKING DEAD - 1.2 - "Guts" Review (Article) - 11/9/2010 8:25:57 AM

Great review of this episode!!  Now I have not read the comics either but I have been a fan of zombies since I snuck in to see Dawn of the Dead when I was 7 ( ahh the good old days of getting to see movies you were not supposed to in the movie theatre) and I do not think I will read the comics as I want to see where this show goes!!!  Now I did have a problem with the startling intelligence and agility of some of the zombies but I buy the fresher = better, stronger, faster explanation given above.  Also the "zombie walk" and the guts all over me to confuse the zombies worked for me as well!!  Some of the zombies they passed did seem to say "Hey are you really one of us......ehhh I guess so let me shamble off to wherever in Atlanta!!!"  LOL  Overall I am enjoying this show and I have gotten a few of my co-workers to watch as well and they are not the zombie lovers that I am and they love the show too!!  Bring on more episodes AMC....all of us TV zombies are pounding on your corporate headquarters glass doors looking for you!!!
