Muenster... thanks for the response!  I was actually referencing your jab at LeBouf and Fox.  Of course, that was before I had seen virtually any interviews with Fox.  I tell you... for a hot woman, she's pretty cold towards a lot of celebrity journalists (and that kinda' runs counter to the common image of a marijuana advocate).  So, in effect, I withdraw my protest.

Oh yeah, you're right--- my avatar is a Shogun Warrior.  It's Brave Radeen, but he probably looks just like Mazinger at the size the graphic is displayed.  Unfortunately, I don't think a Shogun Warriors movie will ever get a greenlight unless they could keep the budget under $50 million (and what's the likelihood of that?).  That may be a good thing... if they did release such a movie, the following Monday would reveal reports of detachable fists flying around in almost every North American workplace!

Dude, you've GOT to check out this redubbed version of the Avatar trailer...I didn't mind the movie, but I agree that it is a big budget Ferngully meets Dances with Wolves meets The Last Samurai.

Anyone that sees ‘Avatar” for what it really is: an OK Sci-Fi flick at best is OK in my book.

Muenster... just wanted to say thanks for the follow-up, a while back. I can definitely see where that Wal-Mart thing would be a "red button."

In response to your question about associate producers and % of profits. You probably know that there are 3 types of producers. Producer, Associate Producer, and Executive Producer. The Producer is the boss and as far as I know, an Associate Producer works directyl underneath the Producer. Pretty much takes his cues from the Producer and does whatever the Producer may need him to do. If a Producer is swamped, he may ask the Associate Producer to do some of his jobs. Associate Producers in Film are usually individuals within production companies who have played a particularly significant role in the development of the script or screenplay, or in the packaging process, or who have contributed important creative ideas to the production. I don't know much about the actual % of profits these guys can get. I think it has something to do with how much they contributed or how powerful of a player they are. Tom Cruise as an Associate Producer probably makes bank because he is a major player in Hollywood. Remember, I'm an indie director so I'm usually my own Producer as well since I usually fund my projects myself or I do the fundraising myself. I haven't had a chance to work on anything huge. I have been a camera operator for a few Blink 182 music videos. I have been to Sundance and Cannes. I have gotten to meet a few directors and shoot the breeze with them. Robert Rodriguez, Guillermo Del Toro, Bryan Singer, Paul Verhoeven, Sam Raimi, and Ang Lee.
