This won't be a dead serious movie, per-say. Rogan and Chow's involvement sort of cement that idea. I speculate it'll be an action movie with a lot of comedic moments and alot closer to the TV show than the radio serial.

Will is a brilliant actor. Even with his patented "ahhh hell no!". I think he'll turn it downfor the same reason he turned down superman: http://screenrant.com/hollywood-will-smith-offered-superman-vic-2871/ I think he could pull it off. He's just too smart to try. It's not so much about racism as it is about authenticity. The above link has a point. Would you have a capable white actor... like.. I dunno.. Johnny Depp play Ali? Or Ray? You probably could. Would it lose something in it's authenticity? Definitely. Captain America is the same type of thing.
