Here is the first official trailer for Stuart Beattie’s I, Frankenstein. I have to admit, I am little underwhelmed. Perhaps it was “from the makers of Underworld” that immediately turned me off. It looks like a ton of CGI and no heart. That is only my opinion. Sound off below Maniacs!

Plot Synopsis: I, Frankenstein is a modern-day epic: Frankenstein’s creature, ADAM (Aaron Eckhart), has survived to present day due to a genetic quirk in his creation. Making his way to a dark, gothic metropolis, he finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans. I, Frankenstein is based on a graphic novel from Kevin Grevioux (Underworld) and stars Aaron Eckhart Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, and Socratis Otto. Stuart Beattie (Tomorrow, When the War Began) is directing.

I, Frankenstein arrives January 24th, 2014.

Who writes the checks for these things?

If you had another trailer that was identical to this with one small exception...you replaced Aaron Eckhart as the Frankenstein Monster with Chris Hemsworth in his Thor get up, you'd have twenty guys posting comments in this thread about how great it looked...and how they were counting the minutes until it's release.

...not saying that this looks good...just saying that it looks like 90 other trailers I've seen over the past 5 years.

Think it looks pretty sick. Kind of Van Helsing meets Legion....I am in ...

I hate how some of you fanboy idiots complain about original plotlines like this, but would squeal like a pig if "My Little Pony" got a $20 million budget for a film. Disgusting.

lol.  Original or not (and like blankczech said...this looks like 90 other trailers we've seen in the past 5 years)...this just looks terrible.  I mean really bad.

hanso 10/5/2013 9:24:26 AM

Is the My Little Pony sequel in 3D?  Cause then it would be really squeal worthy.

Original or not, it still looks stupid.  And I'm an Aaron Eckhart fan.  It looks cheesy.  I'm not going to apologize for my opinion.  And I don't know how "original" it really is, SeriousYelder.  How many of these stories of an outcast finding special powers or courage or their life's meaning and then using it all to battle demons/vampires/monsters and save mankind have we seen in recent years?  So I wouldn't exactly call this "original."  It's a different take on the same tired plot.  I hadn't even seen the trailer yet and I knew exactly what was going to be said in that last line of the trailer, "He already has."  Now how many times have we heard that exact same exchange in a movie like this?  "God will damn you/will forsake you."  "He already has."  Yeah, real original.

And is it just me or does Bill Nighy pop up in almost every one of these supernatural monster movies?

Straight to the Walmart $5 bin.
