Cooper for Rocket Raccoon?

Latino Review Reports

By Robert T. Trate     August 22, 2012

Well Latino Review is at it again with their exclusive reports. The hunt for a Rocket Raccoon is now on for Marvel and Disney, as it is the only character not yet cast in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

In an interview with HEY YOU GUYS director James Gunn stated:

"JG: I think there’s – here’s the thing: there are a lot of people who have a lot of ideas of who is right for Rocket Raccoon. Rocket Raccoon has been slightly different over the years, in the comic books, and within my scripts he is a very, very specific guy, and I think people are going to have to wait for a few weeks before they see.

Q: Who would be your dream guy?

JG: We’ll have to wait for a few weeks to see. We’ll get our dream guy, because a lot of people want to do it, so we’ll get the person who’s perfect for the role."

Latino Review is reporting that Gunn’s Dream Guy is Bradley Cooper. Their source is out of England and stating that they have made an offer to Cooper.

What do you think Maniacs?

His voice could go well with the character, interesting choice.

I like Cooper.  If true, I guess this would mean he'll definitely the comic relief in the flick.  I would rather have seen Cooper as Green Lantern or even Flash though.

This works for me.  I like him as an actor. And as for the comedic aspect, I'm okay with it.  He's not really a "campy" comedic guy.  He could pull it off.  If they got someone like Jim Carrey, then I would be worried.

That'll work

"Paging Dr Faggot...Dr Faggot!"

I like Bradley Cooper. Good choice.

redhairs ... Rocket Raccoon is the comic relief of the comics as well so it would make sense.  I still read him with a more British accent in my head.

Since I know next to nothing about this incarnation of GotG or Rocky Racoon he seems fine with me.

I never understood the whole Cockney accent thing...

He is named in hmage to a Beatles song... But the Beatles were from Liverpool not London, so I though someone with a strong Scouse accent, like comedian John Bishop...

Saying that I think Cooper would be a great choice...

I think he is a decent choice, this dude can actually do several accents and great impersonations so I'm down with this.

You guys hear about Elizabeth Olsen signing on to play Wanda Maximoff? While I find her to be a decent actress, I just think she is wrong for this particular role. I still think SW should be Gemma Arterton, she just has the look and she has an accent. Who wouldn't want to see her in an outfit such as the one Wanda wears?

InnerSanctum 8/22/2013 4:45:42 PM

It's a talking raccoon who shoots guns.  Who gives a shit who voices the character?  Cooper is fine.

Now, if they pull of this movie...I'm going to have to be eating a very large hat.
