Reality shows are not my thing. I have waded into the muck of what I call “Junk Food TV“ to see what all the fuss is about. It is easy to get hooked on certain shows. However, in hindsight, many are not worth admitting that you ever wasted your time one. There is a new reality series coming to the SyFy Channel that may just be worth watching.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Jim Henson's 'Creature Shop Challenge' will joining their other reality programs. “Each episode will see 10 contestants competing to build mechanical characters and whimsical beasts and bringing high-end inanimate creature designs to life. Brian Henson, chairman of The Jim Henson Co. and Creature Shop, will serve as the lead judge on the series. Brian Henson is also an award-winning writer, director and producer as well as a creature designer who learned from his father, Jim. His credits include Labryinth, The Storyteller, Farscape, Muppets Tonight and Dinosaurs, among countless others”. The contestants will compete for $100,000 in cash and a job at the world-renowned studio.

Brian Henson will share producing duties alongside his sister/Henson Co. CEO Lisa Henson. The reality show will premiere in the first quarter of 2014.

I'll give this a chance.  If it's as good as SyFy's FaceOff, it should be good.

I don't watch Face Off and I probably wouldn't watch this either. It's just not my thing. But it does sound like a good show idea.

I watch Face-Off every week. However, I DVR it and skip to the last 15 minutes. It is not only all I care about, but it is all I have time for.

I would love to give this a shot. I will even attempt to watch it from beginning to end.

Now this is a reality tv show I could go for. I sometimes watch Project Runway (I'm a 3d artist so I'm interested in how they design clothes and what they come up with) but this sounds perfect for me!
