I am sad to admit that it took this past week to remind me of what it was like watching the old Godzila movies and what thie movie represents!  It is weird the childhood feelings I started having and I am now very excited to check this out this weekend!  Thanks for the countdowns, those triggered it all for me!

No Carrey to Promote Kick-Ass 2 (Article) - 6/25/2013 9:35:26 AM

I too am confused with his choice to now distance himself from this movie.  As stated above violent crimes have been happening for years?  The movie title is Kick A$$ 2?  Really Jim?  My teenagers, like 99% of the other fans of this series know...this is a violent film?  Is Hollywood that sheltered or disconnected like our politicians that they really don't know what is going on in the REAL world?  Very dissapointing.

Saw it for the 3rd time tonight, decent audience.  I can say it is a good see for the 3rd time.  I can't say enough how much I enjoy this movie!  Rock and Roll!

Mania Review: Man of Steel (Article) - 6/15/2013 2:34:42 PM

Went back and saw it the 2nd time yesterday.  I was there at midnight Thursday, took my teenage boys after working all day, dropped them off, went BACK into work at 3 a.m., left work at 1 p.m., picked the wife up and went and saw it again at 2:15 p.m..  Then came home and went to bed.

I enjoyed it the 2nd time, which was nice.  I still haven't went back to see IM3 for a 2nd viewing.  Going back next weekend with a buddy of mine when he gets back from a trip and I look forward to watching it again.

As I posted back on page 1, the editing remains the real nit pick for me.  It is a good movie.  I dare say next to Cavill, the Mr. Crowe almost steals the show.  His stuff was awesome and seeing him save Lois during her escape was funny stuff.  And I loved this boxing moves on Zod.  Great stuff.

As for Supes breaking Zods neck- after the epic throw down that he and Zod just had, where there was really no time for a break or breath or a moment to analyze the damage and what he has in front of him that very moment - a real opportunity to SAVE someone from death, he did what he had to; but definately what he DIDN'T want to do.  I didn't leave thinking negative of him.  My wife and I were like, well that is different, but we both felt it was necessary.

The big question we had (and my boys), is can they have a human bad guy?  One punch and any human is toast and the big guy has just shown he will kill if the moment requires it.  It will be very interesting to see what they choose as his next adversary.

And let me echo the boos on no DCU!!!  My first show, the whole place stuck around to see something.. and when it went black, the boos came out.  Along with some other choice words.  While my oldest was saying as the credits rolled, that what we just saw wouldn't jive with Batman and his universe, I was holding out hope for SOMETHING!!  Or something more, like mentioned before about the sateliite feed going to the batcave.  This was the real let down for me.

It could have been better, but it was a good movie.  And a good start for whatever is coming next.

GO SEE IT if you haven't, it is worth the ticket price!
