Goodbye Maniacs (Article) - 2/16/2015 3:03:47 PM

Well damn. I was here every day, although I rarely commented. Just wanted to chime in with the rest here to say that this was my go to site for all genre related news, reviews and stories. My list of bookmarks has shrunk down over the years, but Mania (and before it Cinescape) was always at the top of it and the first clicked in my morning and evening internet rituals. You helped me start my day before getting ready for work in the mornings, and gave me comfort in winding down each night before bed.

It does sound like there may a glimmer of hope in the site returning somehow. What amazes me is that the company that was providing backing all this time would suddenly pull up stakes at a time when the genre is literally bursting at the seams with incredible content in all media formats. Just doesn't make any sense to me...

Thanks for all your hard work that we've all enjoyed for so long. Hope it continues!

Rumor: Bradley Cooper for Indiana Jones? (Article) - 3/26/2014 12:50:16 PM

I clearly recall back in the mid 90's Frank Darabont was tapped to write a story treatment & script for the first Star Wars prequel. He handed in a draft which was almost immediately rejected by Lucas. Darabont was none too happy and pulled no punches in later interviews. Would he be willing to go down that road again?

Paul Rudd IS Ant-Man (Article) - 12/20/2013 5:51:29 PM

@axia777 - Keanu has not been cast, so let's stop talking about him. Rudd has been cast, and the studio toted him as being able to deliver "several dimensions" to the hero. I simply don't see it, and I'm still asking for anyone to provide an example of Paul Rudd's past acting gigs that would qualify their statement. It's a valid complaint.

Paul Rudd IS Ant-Man (Article) - 12/20/2013 1:58:25 PM

"continuing the studio’s desire to cast actors that bring several dimensions to its onscreen heroes"

Really now. Rudd has "acted" in the same, deadpanned approach for every film in which he's been cast. In fact you could say he's been playing the same character for his entire career. In all honesty, I just don't see his appeal. Someone please guide me towards a single film that showcases his dynamic range. I have yet to see anything where he isn't playing a carbon copy of each previous role.

New Terminator TV Series (Article) - 12/8/2013 5:21:46 PM

Completely agree, Wiseguy. Especially when the entire premise of Terminator is built around time travel. Why not use that premise to explore the possibilities?

Deadpool Movie Update (Article) - 10/25/2013 10:58:10 PM

I'm drunk too. Was this Dane Cook on the Planes junket?

Machete Kills Red Band Trailer #2 (Article) - 9/19/2013 7:28:45 PM

So basically, Rodriguez is just delivering Spy Kids on an "adult" level here once again. Shlock is shock.

OLDBOY: PREPARE YOUR STAY (Article) - 9/19/2013 7:20:25 PM

A concept that held promise...

Unfortunately helmed.

That is all.

Walking Dead Season 4 Key Art (Article) - 9/5/2013 1:47:28 PM

Meh. Season 3 was so full of filler. Honestly, look at where the show is now compared to episode 1 of S3. Did anything happen?

Under the Dome: Let The Games Begin Review (Article) - 8/29/2013 8:23:28 PM

@SloPoke23 That is the most intelligent review yet. Nevermind that blowhard Henley.
