Spielberg Still in Charge of First TINTIN - Aug 27, 2008 - 05:53am
I know we haven’t seen the first one yet but with Spielberg and Jackson, two kings in the movie business, you have to wonder who will direct the third one. Just because these films are animated I’d say Zemeckis is up to the role. Who would you choose maniacs?
Writers Begin Scripting POLTERGEIST Remake - Aug 20, 2008 - 05:35am
I'm just wondering how close we are to a Hollywood remake-of-a-remake trend. You know this will happen eventually.
Mania Sits Down With Mirrors' Aja, Sutherland and Smart - Aug 15, 2008 - 06:42am
Been a while since Kiefer made one of these type of horror/thriller movies. I heard next season of 24 will be the last, followed by a theatrical movie. Anybody have some input about it?
Tom Cruise Gets Used in THE TOURIST - Aug 14, 2008 - 06:11am
Did they gave too much of the plot in the synopsis? (i.e. the agent's affair with the criminal)
Belyaev's AMPHIBIAN Coming to the Big Screen - Aug 12, 2008 - 05:16am
TDK is a sequel, Bourne Supremacy is a sequel, X-men 2 is a sequel, Terminator 2 is a sequel, Aliens is a sequel. I think Hollywood has good and bad sequels. I'd say bring it on and then we judge.
Box Office: DARK KNIGHT Takes Down The Pineapple - Aug 11, 2008 - 05:32am
You are right ponyboy, in those episodes (were a two-part story) Mulder witness some kind of spiritual force that retrieve the kids soul/spirit out of their bodies to stop their suffering (by the serial killer). At the end Mulder sees the spirit of his sister, they hug and then she disappears along with other spirit kids. Nevertheless, the body of the sister was never clearly identified.
Lucas Updates on INDIANA JONES 5 - Jul 29, 2008 - 06:00pm
Lucas is a great business man but a mediocre filmmaker. All the stupid bits of Indy IV can be traced back to Lucas; the gophers remind the annoying little robots and little animals of the SW prequels that kept appearing between scenes, the Tarzan bit (Chewbacca anyone??) I admit it was kind of funny in ROTJ but in AOTC felt flat just like in Indy!, and the freaking CGI ants… if you are familiar with Spielberg work you know there’s no way he’ll wanted it that way. That was a plain rip-off of The Mummy critters which were created by Lucas own ILM.
And The New T-800 TERMINATOR Is...? - Jul 17, 2008 - 04:48pm
Maniacs: In the second terminator Arnold says to John that he is a cyberdyne system model 101; however he is a T-800. Now we have Roland and he is also a T-800 but from 20 years earlier. So what we have is T-800's and each individual have it's serial number i.e. Arnold is the T-800 number 101 and before Arnold there are 100 different terminators? (I'm not trying to be wise or funny, I'm really asking you guys).
Murphy's Confirmed Return as Beverly Hills COP - May 29, 2008 - 07:52am
... A Never Ending Story Remake, or perhaps a Goonies sequel were the offsprings of the original cast embarks on an adventure to find the missing pirate boat (which misteriously disappeared after sailing off the cave at the end of the first movie) and the parents are have their adventure as well by following the trail and finding their kids.
INDIANA JONES: THE ULTIMATE GUIDE (Hardcover) - May 14, 2008 - 06:36am
I have some hesitation about it. Knowing Lucas there is a big chance that with the release of the DVD/Blu ray another Indy book will come out with a title like "The Definitive Ultimate Guide", blah, blah. I'll wait...
CITY OF EMBER Official Site - May 14, 2008 - 06:24am
A 200 years old underground city powered by a big generator about to fail... that's the Matrix's Zion if the machines had never found it.
CW Gives REAPER Renewal - May 14, 2008 - 06:18am
This is my favorite of new shows out there. Pleased to hear this!
I WANT TO BELIEVE Trailer - May 13, 2008 - 11:47am
Forget the trailer, forget how many time has passed. This is an all new, fresh off the oven X-Files story, with Mulder and Scully! Chris and Frank at the helm! I’m very optimistic with this one; How many years between Terminator and Terminator 2? How many years between Alien and Aliens? (Ok, maybe too optimistic). Anyway, I’m there first weekend.
Third Indy Trailer Online - May 12, 2008 - 02:21pm
Last Saturday I was in the stores with my 5-year-old kid and got an Indy action figure (actually two of them) with the whip and all. Can't wait for this film.
Eric Stoltz Hitches on to CAPRICA - May 12, 2008 - 06:20am
Dazzler, they've said the show will be different in tone, at the top of the human civilization just before the cylons. So I guess it will not be that depressive. About what they did to Kira, my guess is that they're building up to something very, very big.
Root Draws BLOOD - May 08, 2008 - 06:30am
Sounds very interesting!
DVD Shopping Bag: Indiana Jones, Box Set and Blu-Ray - May 07, 2008 - 02:22pm
Robert T. Trate; You recommend picking up these new editions and give our old ones to someone who has never seen an Indiana Jones movie. I recommend not to buy these new DVD editions and wait a couple of months when Lucas release the blu-ray package wich will probably include even more special features and the new film. Then, we give our old ones to somebody else.
Mania's Top Maniacal Rumors: Let's Talk War Machines and Wonder Woman - May 02, 2008 - 12:41pm
Ditto, Velgron and JBBUC: Ripley and Sarah Connor came to mind. And let's not forget Buffy.
About 24? My wife and I love that show. Can't wait for next season and the movie. And now that I think about it, it also have very strong female characters. Velgron, you should see it.
HULK Gets Angry in New Online Photos - May 01, 2008 - 07:11am
The first time I saw CGI-Spidey (first trailer), he looked pretty fake to me. Then, in the movie, looked great. Final touches to the effects?
New Poster and Update for MUMMY 3 - May 01, 2008 - 06:53am
Got to see the first trailer... If that single one basically tells you the whole movie, not a good sign.
New IRON MAN Clip Online - Apr 29, 2008 - 06:07am
I’ve been checking some early reviews of the movie by different magazines and TV programs. Basically everyone says that the movie rocks.
Slater, Bentley Lead Stephen King's CADILLAC - Apr 25, 2008 - 06:57am
I saw this movie when it was called The Punisher (twice) and probably will see it again in the new… Punisher!
DEATHLY Hallows Has a Release Date - Apr 25, 2008 - 06:50am
Wiseguy, they will not split the others because ten years after the complete saga is done, there will be a “re-release” of the movies, with additional scenes taken directly from the books that were not included in the originals. Of course, all of those scenes will be in CGI; and 90-year-old George Lucas will be the executive producer.
Ewan McGregor Helping Hank's DEMONS - Apr 25, 2008 - 06:41am
I’ve read somewhere that there was a time when the producers of 24 wanted to buy the rights of “Angel and Demons” or “Da Vinci” to use it as a season story line. Any of you guys know if that was true?
Update: New KNIGHT Poster, Trailer Online Monday - Apr 25, 2008 - 06:35am
I loved Batman Begins and this one looks ten times better. I just couldn’t help to notice that in some scenes of the first one (i.e. when Batman lifted up that corrupted police) Batman sounded like the cookie monster (Swear to MEEE!).
Del Toro Confirmed for HOBBIT Films - Apr 25, 2008 - 06:28am
I foresee box office records and Oscars; and I agree with Redhaven, Del Toro was the guy to go to.
NYCC: The X-Files Panel Wrap Up - Apr 25, 2008 - 06:13am
I guess future X-files movies will depend on the success of this one (what a shock). I hope it does well; I’d like to see the “alien colonization” movie that Chris and Frank set-up at the end of the TV series.
Ayelet Zurer Lands Lead in Da VINCI Prequel - Apr 24, 2008 - 02:29pm
By the way, that was my first comment in MANIA. I’ve been reading comments from almostunbiased, gauley, metal, ponyboy, fft, exfan, mlaforcer, wiseguy, movielord and the whole family for quite a while. You guys are fun to read.
Ayelet Zurer Lands Lead in Da VINCI Prequel - Apr 24, 2008 - 02:16pm
One of the things I found fascinating about the book is how cleverly Dan Brown mixed the facts with the fiction. I think that in the translation from book to movie some of that cleverness was lost. And I agree with most of you, Tom Hanks wasn't who I pictured in this part and, while being one of the best in the business, I don't think he pulled it off... and what about that hairdo?
I know we haven’t seen the first one yet but with Spielberg and Jackson, two kings in the movie business, you have to wonder who will direct the third one. Just because these films are animated I’d say Zemeckis is up to the role. Who would you choose maniacs?
