Would Miller Do BUCK ROGERS? - May 09, 2008 - 07:46am
In Millers version, Twiki will be a top secret assassin droid with a mashocistic personality, Wilma will be a adventurous vixen who danced her way through college and Buck will be an angry, slightly demented mysoginist who takes out his aggression on Twiki "Are you retarded ? I'm the god damned Buck Rogers!!!"

THQ Captures SUPER HERO - May 08, 2008 - 07:12am
They're trying to hit the kids while their young. Get em hooked on the icons so they'll grow up and pay 20 bucks for a comic in the year 2025.
Doomsday Entering SMALLVILLE, Luthor Departs - May 02, 2008 - 07:05am
Doomsday was already a derivative villian in the comics ...how much more derivative and watered down can he be on Smallville ? Will he just be a meteor freak, WWF reject who is making his first attempt at acting, who wears a grey body stocking with brass knuckles fashioned out of bone ? I just don't get it ..they have enough episodes for syndication ..let it die already.
VALKYRIE Taking on Jason Voorhees - Apr 08, 2008 - 01:44pm
Word on the street is that this movie stinks. Like Halle Berry "Catwoman" stinky. Its one of those slow moving train wrecks that everyone is helpless to stop.
Although it might be nice to see a movie where Tom Cruise doesn't save the world/japanese culture/american democrazy/the legal system/
New IRON MAN Clip & TV Spot - Apr 08, 2008 - 08:51am
In reference to the upcoming Indy film, I hadn't read the comments about lite cgi usage. I based my irresponsible speculation solely on the trailer and what I saw left me cold. Lucas and Spielberg, while having produced magic in the past, I dont know.. I imagine their every meeting going like this
Spielberg: We'll have Indy jump his motor bike over a huge crevass filed with tooth gnashing alligators
Lucas : cgi Alligators ?
Spielberg: uh, sure..then we'll have Indy swing across a pit filled with firey bamboo pikes
Lucas: Cgi Firey bamboo pikes ?
Spielberg: uh ..yeah .Then in the finale Indy slides down the giant statues arm, grabbing the jewel on the way, when he reaches the hand he'll dive launch into a dive. We'll pan back and see him disappear into the misty waterfall...and YES, the statue, and the waterfall will be GG-FREAKING-I!!!!
Lucas: what about the jewel.. I can create some nice glow effects these days ...
New IRON MAN Clip & TV Spot - Apr 08, 2008 - 06:19am
Rumpledforeskins summer blockbuster predicitons (on a personal level)
a.Iron Man- This will be the darkhorse winner. Fan-wise and financially (vs budget)
b. Indiana Jones -Too much CGI, too much George Lucas, and a very tired Steven Speilberg= Modest business, but low for a Indy movie.
c. Hulk- Will do Fantastic Four level box office take.
d. The Dark Knight-Will do great business due to the Heath factor, will still have shaky cam fighting, will be the big winner financially.
Just my opinions.
Really Big Robot in TRANSFORMERS 2? - Apr 07, 2008 - 06:33am
I liken the first Transformers movie to the first Xmen movie- Not a homerun but close enough to be forgiven for its many, many faults (Storms fight with Toad -including dialogue was as bad as the Transformers hiding on Sams lawn)
Cartoon Network Upfronts Look Promising - Apr 07, 2008 - 06:17am
I realize the whole intent of recreating these DC icon's respective series is first and foremost about "Action Figures" I wish they would find a way to continue the slightly adult themed series like Justice League Unlimited.
It was a fine series that stands up well. I think the key was that it wasn't helmed by "create new heroes/monsters so we can get a new toy line out" executives. It was almost like the cartoon was made by people I grew up with in that they realized "its just a cartoon" but knew "This can be fun and taken seriously at the same time" The moment I realized that was when Wonder Woman spun in circle to change from civilian clothes into her uniform. They didnt have to do that but it was something we all wanted to see and they did it. I had to laugh because it was a very sweet moment, akin to a tipping of the hat or a knowing wink between strangers who shared the same upbringing.
