After Earth Trailer (Article) - 12/11/2012 6:19:19 AM

I'm pretty sure Will Smith dies early on, and that he's really a holographic projection with AI and intuitive responses pre-recorded to help his son overcome fear and become a man in the event of his death. At least, that's what this teaser is showing me. I could be wrong. Certain scenes, like the one of Will Smith walking out in the open with the spear-type weapon in his hand might prove me wrong. Then again, they might not.

Dexter: Helter Skelter Review (Article) - 11/28/2012 4:55:40 AM

It's blood spatter, not splatter. Weren't you listening to Isaak in Episode 4 a few weeks back?

Fall of 82: The Last Unicorn (Article) - 11/19/2012 6:12:09 AM

This was my very first time going to the movies. I was six years old, and I remember my parents and us kids standing in line outdoors at Times Square waiting to get in to the theater for this. At the time, the movie made almost no sense to me. All I remember are the unicorns in the waves and a scary, giant red bull (without wings). I can vaguely recall the title song, which I believe also played in the end credits. Or maybe just the end credits. Oddly enough, I own this on DVD but never got around to actually rewatching it again. This article makes me want to correct that oversight now.

Revolution: Ties That Bind Review (Article) - 11/15/2012 5:48:16 AM

Silent Killer, I don't think you or your wife were paying particularly close attention on this one thing. The reason they were able to set off that explosion and have all the guards conveniently walk away was because . . . it was a setup all along. Nora's sister was intended to be rescued so that she could steal the necklace and bring it back. Myles should have seen right through that obvious setup, sure, but I wouldn't necessarily call that lazy writing.

Star Wars Episode 7 in 2015 (Article) - 10/30/2012 3:39:26 PM

Gore Verbinski directs:  Episode VII: Curse of the Dead Emperor's World Ending Black Pearl. Johnny Depp will play a walking lamp shade that talks and smokes bad cigars, fashioned after the late George Burns.

Fassbender for Assassins Creed (Article) - 10/23/2012 6:29:27 AM

I don't know, I think this could be good. The fact that they got Fassbender attached bodes well for how much support they might be willing to put behind this project. Although, I sense a major bastardization of the games' story coming . . .

Doctor Who: The Power of Three Review (Article) - 9/26/2012 6:53:31 AM

The tone of this article almost seems to suggest that we're dreading the departure of Amy and Rory. But I for one can't wait! I think these current companions have more than worn out their welcome. Especially Amy Pond, who I went from absolutely adoring at the beginning to now outright despising. Personally, I think last season's finale should have been the last of the "Ponds" we saw, and that these 5 episodes has been 5 episodes too many to be subjected to that pair.

Also, I'm practically salivating at the thought of the gorgeous Jenna-Louise Coleman (who we just saw as Oswin in "Asylum of the Daleks") taking over as the new companion. When I learned this news at the start of the season, it made me wish Amy and Rory would leave that much sooner. Jenna-Louise has so much personality and wonderful chemistry with Matt Smith, that I predict nothing but great things to come.

So count me in as looking very much forward to a changing of the guard soon. Good riddance!

Revolution: Pilot Review (Article) - 9/20/2012 6:26:50 AM

I don't think this was an EMP. Dark Angel had such a premise, after all, and they were still able to use cars and motorcycles and generate new electricity.

No, this is something more powerful that was able to not just stop electricity, but complex mechanical functions as well. I have no idea what the hell could do that, and in such quick time. But that's what the rest of the show is for I guess.

Personally, I thought this was a very good start. Can't wait to see more.

Manimal the Movie? (Article) - 9/18/2012 6:03:47 AM

Oh man, I know it looks cheesy now . . . but this was my favorite show at the time! I was only six, though, so that might explain it. I used to curl my hand into a "paw" and hope I would change into a black leopard. I'm surprised it only lasted 8 episodes. I seem to recall watching more than that.

Have you never heard of the Appendices and/or the Silmarillion? Because . . . yeah, that's how! :)
