The Wall - Ghost Story
Posted October 06, 2008 @ 11:05am

The problem with second hand accounts of ghost stories is the fact they're second hand. A second problem, involving this story at least, involves the involuntary passage of time. That means the story is no longer valid these days, as the event about to be... Read More

Now THIS show you can cancel.

Del Toro Talks HOBBIT and FRANKENSTEIN - Oct 05, 2008 - 04:24am
His Frankenstein better not sing or dance, or go to jail for dumping nuclear waste. That's copyrighted material, del Toro! (Speaking of copyrights, did you know they now take up to ten months to go through? The Library of Congress is on permanent anthrax alert.)

TV Feature Interview: Ghost Hunters - Oct 04, 2008 - 05:41am
Sex symbols! Mario and Luigi! Like Ricardo Montalban! That's awesome they'll be purchasing their own motel and fixing it up. You know, I've read various accounts on possession, and seen a few on The History Channel, but I'm not afraid to admit it's the one thing I Do Not Want To See in real life. More Ghost Hunters! Keep 'em coming boys!

Hey Final Draft is the way to go. Find it some how. I did the microsoft word thing for years and Final Draft is so easy it really cuts down on "making the format indents".

Thanks for the link I'll look at it. Hopefully I can transform my screenplay into a comic as well.

Hey Starlight, found out we were able to reply in our profile's comment section, so I er did.

But then it occured to me that it might be prudent to post me reply over 'ere too.

but you know, modified a bit.

So I don't just copy & paste it verbatim.

I'm not sure if it's because I desire to try my hand at being civil, or because I enjoy confuzing the frak out of things.

(I know which I know it is - Ed)

I would like to set up an insane comedy troup you know, if I could keep my head on left side right for more than a fortnight.

(or a fortmillicenton even - Ed)

but realistically in my current state, I'd probably effectively disembowel the show, incinerate the producers, blow up the group's fellow writers, and slowly remove the outer cutaneous membrane of the audience members.

I recognize all the comedy (and otherwise) writer elements in *You* though mate, from my saner daze though, I think we'd 'ave 'ad a blast, you know between inevitably trying to find new ingenious ways of offing eachother

(I call dibbs on wiring your jolt cola to a thermal detonator)

So while you're relatively sane, I say go for it mate!

You can get started with YouTube productions for next to nothin, all you need is a digital cam, hell a pc cam with a looooong USB extension cable to run outside and into your shorts for "Penis-Cam with Starlight Guard" slash "Maniac-on-the-Street" ``interviews''

(or you could pen something you know, less disturbing - Ed)

Thanks for reading my blogs! You pretty much seem to be the only one! Also your comments always seem to be very thoughtful! Let me just say StarlightGuard you sir are a true gentleman! Even though Jarrod seems to think you're a chick!

StarlightGuard • Aug 21, 2008, 05:42pm •
I still can't figure out why Jarrod thought I was a girl.

It says MALE on my site. My first name is AL...well actually it's not but it's a shortened version of the name that I hate that begins with the first letters A and L.

(That was in honor of "Weird Al" Yankovic.)

Glad to read your blogs...and anyone else's actually. It's always fun to see what others are up to.

WISEGUY562 • Aug 23, 2008, 05:11pm •
To be honest I think that Jarrod thought you were a girl because of your avatar and most importantly because its color. That's just my opinion because before looking at your profile I thought the same thing.

Or it could be that you come off as more polite and smarter than most of us around here:)

WISEGUY562 • Aug 30, 2008, 09:48pm •
I always like to be associated with people that are smarter than me. It's the only true way to become a wiseguy :)

WISEGUY562 • Sep 01, 2008, 01:58pm •
lol, believe me I've had plenty of those arguments. Just with family members alone I'm ashame to say. My brother-in-law used to think that NJ was the capitol of NY and my cousin actually thought that NY CITY was a state.

But mine is not a quest to boost my ego by trampling over some dumbass' carcass, at least not primarily, but to actually gain knowledge. Although you are right it is fun to do it on occassion if just for the cheap laugh and ego boost.

JarrodSarafin • Sep 30, 2008, 01:36am •
Yep...I thought you were a girl at first because of the name associated with the avatar image.

That and as wiseguy says, you come off as articulate in a day and age where there's more fanboy testosterone getting thrown around.

My bad for not clicking on the profile first, Al. My bad indeed for enjoying your blogs for quite sometime even if we don't agree (Indy is one example) but for never actually knowing the gender until then. :)

Okay, once more explaining the name:

I chose StarlightGuard because, in my script Sweet Dreams: A Sandman's Story, I invented a group of "volunteered" people that were chosen by the Sandmen to help fight the mares on nights when there is no moon visible, which just happens to be the most violent night of the month.

The Starlight Guard consists of three types of individuals: Staff Wielders, Cup Bearers, and Archers. The Archers and Staff Wielders both are an extra line of defense against the mares. The Cup Bearers pour out a substance that helps to heal anyone that has been attacked by a mare, plus it helps to eliminate the dark blood the mares bleed which causes insanity.

Since it's my script, I should refer to myself as The Founding Member of the Starlight Guard.

My novelty lamp, well since it matched the color scheme of the profile page, suited the page well. Besides I wanted an ORIGINAL avatar.

As for being articulate...well I guess I'm guilty of that. For god's sake, I had like 12 credit hours of Rhetoric, 18 of Philosophy, either 8 or 12 of psychology, about the same concerning history, and so on.

I worked in the Humanities Dept. at college. I was friends and allies of the campus staff. I'm sure I absorbed some of that.

But I'm sure the real reason I likely come across as "competent" or whatever you want to call it is because I'm surrounded by idiots. I actively shy away from being an idiot. I also correct my niece and nephew when they say "we done bring it," or something similar.

(Nag! Nag! Nag!)
