Sarah Gadon for Amazing Spider-Man 3

Character Unrevieled

By Robert T. Trate     June 23, 2013

The news on Amazing Spider-Man 2 just keeps coming and coming. Late last week we learned that Shailene Woodley’s part of Mary Jane was cut from the film. Then we learned Woodley would not return as Mary Jane for the subsequent sequels (in 2016 and 2018). Now it appears that Sarah Gadon (Universal’s Upcoming Dracula series) has been cast for the Amazing Spider-Man saga.

IndieWire via Jeff Snider (@TheInSneider) that “100% CONFIRMED: Sarah Gadon IS in Amazing Spider-Man 2 briefly. She is NOT playing Mary Jane Watson, who will NOT appear until Part THREE”.

So no announcement on who she will play, only that she is not Mary Jane?

This is all just too strange. With the Felicia Hardy being in Amazing Spider-Man 2 who else is left from Peter PArker’s love life? Could it be that they will feature Carlie Cooper in the third Amazing Spider-Man?

Now I think They are rushing things.. . . Just 5 minutes of screen for each characters sounds like a lot of unresolved plots.

Everyone acts as if we need to concentrate on every little character they add.

She could be Carlie but I was thinking BettyBrant, maybe we finally work our way to the Bugle. Either way it's a minor role

Elektro and Rhino are the main baddies. Adrian Toomes (Vulture) may be teased at best and I'm sure GG will be left mostly for a sequel. Black Cat if true is is what I'm curious to see get worked in.

I'm excited for this. I love that they're bringing a lot of Spidey's support characters

I think making the confirmation that this would be a 4 film series was a bold move driven by confidence, and judging from the first film I'd say they've earned it.

I'm excited that they have the means to flesh out a multi-pic story arc starting so early, this has the potential to end up as one of the best superhero film series' out there!!

and that girl in the pic above is gorgeous.  Seriously.

If they are going to build the entire universethey will need the support of all the minor characters so that when it is time they do not have to tell the back story and waste half a movie telling us who this person is.

It's late so i hope that made sense.

<Sigh> I really miss Raimi.

goldeneyez 6/24/2013 6:19:39 AM

I don't (miss Raimi).  I enjoyed the Raimi films for what they were, but I'm also enjoying Webb's take... heck, his last name is Webb. How could he possibly go wrong?

Wiseguy 6/24/2013 9:06:25 AM

I still consider Raimi's first Spidey film one of the crown jewels of comic book movies. But damn did he go downhill fast.

I still like all 3 for entertainment but should've been so much more

Sarah Gadon would make a great Gwen Stacy lol ... oh well ... as much as I like Emma stone... she doesn't make a good Gwen plus she has no chemistry with Andrew...

Here's to hoping number 2 is better than the first.
