Notice he talked about voice. Could be they are bringing back the "Space...the final frontier" bit for shatner to say.

SUPERMAN Flying Circles in Development Hell - Aug 19, 2008 - 01:21pm
Singer is a hack when it comes to comic book movies. X-Men 1 & 2. While some of it was good, he sacrified a lot of the comic book book feel for making a more "realistic" movie. Hmmm...I think he copped out, especially after seeing Spider-Man, Iron Man, and The Dark Knight. Realistic doesn't mean ignore the source material. And then theirs his lazy arse filmmaking with Superman Returns: The almost scene-by-scene remake of a good film because he couldn't come up anything original. Get rid of Singer and get someone who will respect the source material more and will give us a new story.

Book Review of Comic Art Now - Aug 18, 2008 - 07:15am
Maybe I'm just gettin' too old, but I don't like most of the art I see in comic books these days. It's too plastic and too manga-influenced. I prefer the hand drawn look of the 80s and 90s.

Game Review: Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures Game and Booster Pack - Aug 09, 2008 - 04:08am
If you are going to compare a miniatures game to a collectible card game, than it isn't role-playing and has no comparison to D&D in any version. And sure, WOTC craps out a ton of books, but you don't need them. I'm running a D&D 3.5 game now with only the three core books (PHB, DMG, MM).

The Manic Maniac: R.I.P. Watchmen? - Aug 07, 2008 - 04:06am
I agree with Karas1. I like to see how the "magic" is accomplished. It does not at all take away from my enjoyment of the movie. I don't want to know plot details, but I love interviews with the actors that describe their take on the characters, etc. I just like the whole process that goes into making a movie. I get more out of the movie. Take Fellowship of the Rings. There's a scene in the beginning where Gandalf appears to seamlessly hand his staff and hat to Bilbo while kepping the sizes of the characters intact. It was awe inspiring when I first saw it and I wondered how they pulled it off. Later when I found out how it was done, I still marvel at the wonder of that scene. I don't know, maybe there's a skill to watching movies. I'm able to forget everything and invest myself into the world of the movie and enjoy the movie for what it is (unless it's really really bad).

Box Office Update: KNIGHT Scores Victory Over Brothers and FBI - Jul 27, 2008 - 09:46pm
I'm a closet Costner fan myself. Granted, he acts the same way, same personality, same wooden delivery in every part, I can't help but enjoy his movies.

SDCC: McG Praises Bale in TERMINATOR - Jul 27, 2008 - 01:02pm
"It provides the elegant opposition you want. You don't want people saying, 'yeah whatever, tell me what to do and we'll do it.' [The entire cast] challenges you all the time…" Which in my mind translates to, "It's so obvious that I don't know what I'm doing that the actors have to step in and save the movie, cos I did direct Fantastic Four after all."

Comicscape: Character Contrast in the Dark Knight - Jul 23, 2008 - 12:55pm
"but this may actually get studios finally sit back and say...."LET'S QUIT MAKING SUPERHERO FILMS FOR THE SAKE OF MERCHANDISING AND START RESPECTING THE SOURCE MATERIAL. " Its a nice dream. But there are a few caveats in fil making, 1) spend a minimum of money to make a movie that will get a maximum return. 2) You can never predict what fickle movie go-ers will like since clearly the market research said Battlefield Earth would be a good movie...it has John Travolta and look how people ate him up in that Pulp Fiction movie. 3) Because of Caveat number 2, a studeo exec is warry of investing 100+ million on a movie that may not perform. 4) Bad investments in movies like Gigli (Come on...it has Ben and J-lo!) mean the studeo loses money and studio execs may lose jobs. So spending a small amount of money on a half-assed movie that makes just enough to pay the bills and give the studio a small increase in operating capital is less risky than spending 150 million and taking out a morgage while you wait for box office returns that may not happen.

Box Office Update: KNIGHT Captures Box Office History for WB - Jul 20, 2008 - 10:03pm
SPOILER ALERT (if you haven't seen the movie, don't read) Harvey's fall was not that abrupt. 1) Harvey punches *his* witness on the stand in court. yah, he had a gun, but still... 2) Steals an ambulance and kidnaps a murder suspect and is about to do bad things if Batman hadn't popped up. 3) hears his girlfriend explode. 4) Wakes up in a hospital with a burned face and is utterly grief stricken at Rachel's death, and raging because "they" let her die. 5) before the joker shows up, Gordon visits Harvey and you can already see how pissed. before Gordon leaves, he says "I'm sorry." Harvey replied, "You will be." This was after he made Gordon tell him the name the cops used for harvey, Harvey Two Face. He was already turning into Two Face before the joker showed up. The Joker just refind Two face's anger direction and set him loose. An abrupt change would be Anakin's fall in SW ep3

Update: DARK KNIGHT Grabs Third Record - Jul 20, 2008 - 02:21am
For those of you wondering if the Joker would appear in the next Batman, we already have our answer. Nolan has been quoted saying that he won't recast the Joker. So until someone else takes the reigns, That's all of the joker we'll see. Wiseguy: If you want more fantasy in a Batman movie, I'm not sure you get Batman. Please elaborate on what you meant.

THE DARK KNIGHT: The Joker's Wild! - Jul 18, 2008 - 06:54pm
Well, I saw it at 12:02 am, and then again at 1:15pm. Seeing it a second time, I saw or noticed things I hadn't on the first viewing. What a movie. The conversations between Joker and Batman are pure gold. I wish Ledger was still alive so we could see him do it again in another movie. For those whining about the Joker being make up and not a chemical bath induced skin bleach. I think the greasepaint worked even better. There's a scene of him sitting in a half-lit room, light glinting on his eyes, hhis make up smudged and running. It made him look even more crazed and creepy.

Batmania! Rise and Shine with The Dark Night - Jul 18, 2008 - 06:48pm
Try "major plot point" and catalyst for Two Face.

THE DARK KNIGHT: The Joker's Wild! - Jul 18, 2008 - 03:19am
I just saw the new Batman movie at a midnight showing and I can't stop giggling like a child at christmas who's gotten everything he could ever want. I was so afraid it was getting overhyped...but it's not. The movie is 2 1/2 hrs long and it goes fast. Now I'm even more pissed by Ledgers death. We'll never get to see him play the Joker again. Ledger blows Nicholsen out of the water as far as Joker's go. Damn, but he was good. Well...time to sleep. I get to see it again in 10 hours. Best frickin' batman movie, ever! Go see it. It'll blow your mind.

BATMAN-GOTHAM KNIGHT (Two-Disc Collector's Edition) - Jul 12, 2008 - 03:18pm
Yah, the clips and previews I saw sucked. I don't like Anime, its an inferior art form in my opinion.

Marvel Studios Pressuring WB/DC To Change? - Jul 12, 2008 - 03:10pm
An animated movie yes, Anime? No. Anime is way overrated. What I've seen of Gotham Knights visually, it looks like some amatures did it. I don't care for Anime.

HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY - Jul 11, 2008 - 06:24pm
Just saw it, great enjoyable movie! Now, I wish people would stop whining about long movies. "Oh noes...I has to enjoy more effects and story." With the ammount of money you have to shell out to go see a movie these days (gas, parking, ticket, snacks) you start to feel like you're getting your money's worth with a long film. Stupid ADHD generation. Granted, I'm not advocating stretvhing movies for no reason. But if that's what's needed for the story, I'm all for it.

First Trailer for MAX PAYNE Leaked - Jul 10, 2008 - 01:23pm
I played the first Max Payne game and there was no true religious/supernatural thread to the game. I don't know about the sequal game. First one was about a nasty designer drug and fighting his way through the mob. Aside from that, the trailer is very reminiscent of my memories of the game. Moody, dark, noir-ish, with the narration soundling like a man who's lost everything.

Something Viral Planned for DARK KNIGHT - Jul 08, 2008 - 06:42am
Falling into acid and getting scarred makes him too sympathetic. You begin to emphasize and feel sorry for the poor disfigured clown. Now a psychotic anarchist who chooses to walk around looking like a homacidal clown...well, there's just no reference point to grab onto. It's something unknown..unpredictable...scary.

First Look Featurette Online for MUMMY 3 - Jul 02, 2008 - 01:12pm
I agree. Looks like a fun movie, but the recast of Evie was a the wrong move. For me, Weiz is what made the first two movies.

Sony Gives Fans a Taste of HORNET - Jun 23, 2008 - 05:08am
Bruce Lee played Kato, not the Green Hornet. Still not sure if Rogen is the best person for this movie.

Carradine & Hannah Reunite for KUNG FU KILLER - Jun 20, 2008 - 01:50pm
Like wqe haven't seen this story before. *yawn* I liked Carradine's Kung Fu when he was younger and make his Tai Vhi moves almost look like Kung Fu. But now when he does a roundhouse kick and his leg never gets higher than his waist...ugh.

Cohen Premieres Full Trailer for MUMMY 3 - Jun 20, 2008 - 01:47pm
No Weisz means no money from me. I'm not going to pay to see this one. I'll wait til it hits HBO or something. I like Maria Bello and have nothing against her. But Wiesz is what made the first two Mummy movies enjoyable for me. Her and the scottish guy were the best parts of the first two.

Top Maniacal Rumors: Leo America, Knight Time & Punisher Hex! - Jun 20, 2008 - 01:44pm
I have an idea for Captain America, Tho he's an actor most of you probably don't like. I think he'd be good cause he has the right overall size. He's also got a look that makes me think of Cary Grant, Burt Lancaster, and other leading men of the 40's. Ben Affleck (or however you spell it) I think he'd fit right in in a period movie for the origin. Then look a little out of place in the Avengers.

Mania Manifesto: Top 7 Get Smart Gadgets - Jun 18, 2008 - 06:03am
"shuriken" not "shrunken" Otherwise, amusing article. I loved the cone of silence gag in the old TV show.

Mean and Green: Comicscape Reviews The Incredible Hulk - Jun 18, 2008 - 04:17am
Finally, a reasonable and balanced review. I liked both Hulk movies. The more recent one feels more like a comic book to me.

Villain Clip Revealed for DARK KNIGHT - Jun 17, 2008 - 01:06pm
Well, if they took ideas from the graphic novel "The Long Halloween" it should make for an interesting Harvey Dent. Cos Harvey embraces the idea of Batman and considers doing a little vigilante justice himself, starts killing Mob guys. Durring a court battle, a mobster-turned-witness who really wasn't, throws a vial of acid in Dent's face. I'm betting in this movie, it's the Joker on the other end of the gasoline. But it could still be the Mob since the Joker appears in the trailers to be working with the Mobs. Eric Roberts is playing a mobster named Maroni. In the Long Halloween, Maroni was the rival of mob boss Falcone. It sounds like Dawes gets killed. So Dent getting half his face burned off and losing his wife-to-be, snaps and becomes what Batman could have become.

Villain Clip Revealed for DARK KNIGHT - Jun 17, 2008 - 02:39am
Well, if you'd seen the photoshopped concept picture of Two-Face that was leaked a month ago, this clip is not much of a spoiler.

DVD Shopping Bag: Seventy Minutes - Jun 17, 2008 - 02:35am
What's with all the Hulk bashing articles? Between this article and the other one written by the idiot who hadn't even seen the new movie yet, it gives an overall impression that Mania.com is trying to tank the new Hulk movie.

Hulk Fight Breakdown: Norton vs. Universal - Jun 15, 2008 - 02:29am
Agreed. I walked out of Hulk thinking, "Wow...Marvel Studios is batting 2 for 2." I hope they don't let it get to their heads and start making stupid decisions. I'd hate to see them turn into another New Line.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK - Jun 14, 2008 - 04:07am
McGee was the name of the reporter that was always chasing Banner in the old TV show.

First Look at the New Jason VOORHEES - Jun 14, 2008 - 04:01am
If this is a sort of restart, then he shouldn't even have the hockey mask. The original didn't get the mask until the 4th movie. Heck, the first movie wasn't even Jason, but Jason's mom.

8-Minute Gotham News and Alt-Trailer for KNIGHT - Jun 14, 2008 - 03:57am
Lovoe the details on those viral sites. Check out the "Gotham City Rail" link. The homepage for the GCR has a Gotham City rail map that's pretty cool. It also shows the parts of the rail system underconstruction after it was destroyed in Batman Begins.

Was This Hulk Really Necessary? - Jun 14, 2008 - 03:35am
Exactly mckracken. I don't get the idiots bitching about the CGI. He's big and green, he'll never be 100% believable. I liked the Ang Lee version, except for the ending. I liked the cerebralness of it, how they set up Banner as a repressed type. It was interesting. I like the new Hulk too. I liked that they spent time showing Banner finding ways to control his anger. It would be hard to live on a daily basis knowing that one slip of control means a few city blocks gets destroyed. I think the real problem with the Hulk movies is the kids of today are all ADD, ritalin-junkies who find movies that have real stories without being edited like some hyperkinetic music video to be boring. If someone isn't shooting a gun or throwing a punch every 30 seconds, it's boring. To those people I say, "Stay the hell out of movie theatres and play with your Xboxes."

DVD Review of Transformers Animated - Jun 11, 2008 - 12:14pm
I've only seen one episode. I liked the charactarizations of the transformers, but I couldn't get past the craptacular animation style. Man I miss the 80's when we had more realistic cartoons. Now all we get is this impressionist revival that completely blows. Yah, ok. So I'm old and grumpy. But darn it, is it too much to ask for good artwork?

Christopher Lee Agrees to Return to MIDDLE EARTH - Jun 05, 2008 - 03:44pm
Here's that quote I was looking for: “Obviously, at this stage, the second film is still being figured out- so the actors that have been approached may or not have appeared in the HOBBIT as a literary work but still may appear in the second film as it ‘blends’ into the Trilogy and expands. Therefore what can be said is: Unequivocally, every single actor that originated a role in the Trilogy will be asked to participate and reprise it. If Health, availability or willingness become obstacles – and only in that case recasting would be considered." http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2008/05/24/28882-hobbit-chat-peppered-with-big-news-and-little-details/

Christopher Lee Agrees to Return to MIDDLE EARTH - Jun 05, 2008 - 03:40pm
Jackson and Del Toro akready confirmed (during their webchat 20 questions thing) that they would not recast any characters that appeared in LOTR unless the originating actor declined to reprise their role. Which means if Saruman gets put in the script and Mr. Lee is clearly willing, then he will be playing Saurman again.

Christopher Lee Agrees to Return to MIDDLE EARTH - Jun 05, 2008 - 04:46am
I think Perlman would be best used as Beorn as snallygaster suggested. I just had an interesting thought...what about Aaron Eckhart as Bard?

Christopher Lee Agrees to Return to MIDDLE EARTH - Jun 05, 2008 - 12:24am
That would be so cool to see Saruman the White before he was corrupted appear in one or both movies. It would make his revelation as a tool of Sauron in FOTR have even more impact.

Orci Says 20 Robots Battling in TRANSFORMERS 2 - Jun 02, 2008 - 03:26am
Wow...that's a lot of Transformers. I guess we can kiss character development of the robots goodbye.

THE STRANGERS - May 31, 2008 - 03:03pm
I'd lobve to see Liv in some sort of 40's film noir type movie.

Mania on this Day: Spike Sacrifices, Lohan Madness & Indy Fact-Checking - May 25, 2008 - 12:28am
One of the problems of written media, its easy for people to see rudeness where none was intended. I will endevour to be more careful in the future.

Mania on this Day: Spike Sacrifices, Lohan Madness & Indy Fact-Checking - May 24, 2008 - 07:40pm
Didn't think I was being rude, just posting an opinion about the article. I didn't insult Jarrod.

Mania on this Day: Spike Sacrifices, Lohan Madness & Indy Fact-Checking - May 24, 2008 - 04:24am
"And that should do it for this first edition of Mania Time Warp! " Did you go back in time and delete last weeks time warp? Cos this is the second in my timeline. :P Just a thought, maybe focus on posting more new news rather than rehashing old news.

HOBBIT Enters Pre-Production with Returning Cast - May 22, 2008 - 11:16pm
Scythe: wikipedia is my friend. Re: Lee comming back. Of course he'd come back. Mr. Lee was always mentioning in interviews about how he had met Tolkien and makes a point of reading LOTR once a year and how it'd was his greatest dream to play in the movie version of LOTR. He'll be insulted not to be asked to come back.

DVD Review of Indiana Jones the Adventure Collection - May 20, 2008 - 01:33am
"Sexist roles for women..." Well, duh. Look at the time period those movies are set in and the type of movies (serials) that the Indy movies are based on. The role for woman is damsel in distress or the temptress.

Top Maniacal Rumors: Pitt Wielding a Mighty Hammer? - May 18, 2008 - 09:34pm
Clooney didn't ruin Batman. He had a crappy script, nipples on his batsuit, and Joel Shumacher as a director. Clooney didn't even get a chance to ruin it. It was ruined before he stepped on set. As to the whle Who'll play Thor and who'll play Blake bit? Since they went with the Ultimates Nick Fury, they could go with the Ultimates Thor and just do away with Blake.

PTA to Direct GEAR? - May 14, 2008 - 05:43pm
I hope they dump all the preachy anti-nuke cut-scenes. I hope they keep the absurdity of a stealth game that has a decidedly non-stealthy boss fight at the end of the level. I mean come on...you sneak around in the snow to get into a base only to have to go hand-to-hand with a freakin' tank. While MGS was cool, I'd rather see Syphon Filter done as a movie.

VAMPIRES vs. KNIGHTS RPG in the Works - May 12, 2008 - 04:29am
boring. Overdone. They need to finsd another monster to focus on. There are plenty of other perfectly good monsters in the Monster Manual that are constantly overlooked. Like Owlbears. Come on..they're bearish...and they molt! Good fun! Or how about hobgoblins? Sure, goblins get all the press, but what about their bigger meaner cousins? Lets not forget Xvarts. These aren't your saturday morning smurfs! They're blue, they're short, and they're evil. Watch out!

DEATH RACE Arrives Early - May 12, 2008 - 04:25am
David Carradine starred in one of these. Carmaggeddon was a great video game based on this concept. The twisted part of the race is how they got points for running down pedestrians. one of the originals has some people pushing a bunch of old people in wheelchairs out onto the road just in time to get run over.

Comicscape: I Am Iron Man - May 07, 2008 - 11:13pm

IRON Launches To Top With 104.2 Mil Debut - May 05, 2008 - 10:08pm
Saw this somewhere... "Marvel plans to launch its 2010 film slate with the release of the sequel, Iron Man 2, on April 30, 2010, followed by the launch of Thor on June 4, 2010. Additionally, Marvel is planting its feature film stakes for summer 2011 with an Avengers-themed summer – a two-picture project which will debut on May 6, 2011 with The First Avenger: Captain America (working title), followed by The Avengers in July 2011."

Eckhart Talks About TWO-FACE - May 05, 2008 - 06:07pm
Holy crap...here's two-face revealed. Don't go here if you don't want to be spoiled. http://www.aintitcool.com/node/36628

Eckhart Talks About TWO-FACE - May 05, 2008 - 01:34pm
I can't take credit for finding the Scarecrow...I got that off another site. But if you view the high res trailer at normal size, you can see some sort of covered head with at lest one large eyehole before the roof of the van crunches.

New DARK KNIGHT Trailer Online - May 05, 2008 - 05:32am
Why does one have to be better than the other. Just enjoy the movies for what they are. It isn't a competition.

Eckhart Talks About TWO-FACE - May 05, 2008 - 05:31am
If you watch the trailer, I believe thats Scarecrow driving the white van that Batman lands on. It's hard to make out. If you pause the trailer on the scene of Dent holding a gun, you can see burned skin on his face...just barely..since that side of the face is away from us.

IRON MAN - May 02, 2008 - 05:56pm
I have to agree, this movie shoud have gotten an A. I think movie critics are prohibited by law to give "A"s for movies that aren't subtitled foreign films. I only have a passing knowledge of Iron Man. I have read the very first Iron Man, so I knew about the Mark 1. This was a good movie. I think where some comic book movies fail is when they focus on the effects and action (ie Spiderman 3). Focus on the characters, make them believable and we'll believe the rest. (like Batman Begins).

The Mania Manifesto: Top Six Reasons Grand Theft Auto IV Will Suck - Apr 28, 2008 - 04:51am
Azul: No problem. It's one thing to know via common sence. I think most of us had figured that out. But its nice to be able to point to a scientific study and say "see? proof." Otherwise, it just foundationals bull pucky like what the News Media has been doing. "Ooh..he played a video game three years ago. That must be why he killed 15 people!"

Second PRINCE CASPIAN Trailer Hits Net - Apr 24, 2008 - 03:40pm
Aww shut it, ya doofus. ;) Couldn't resist, Gauley. yes, it has been a ice level-headed discussion.----------------------------------------- Sometimes, there comes a time when people have to take a stand for what they believe in. Look at the Secular movement currently going on in America. They are tired of "religion" and with the help of the ACLU are striving to eliminate any traces of Christianity from the public and government. (Tho oddly enough, the ACLU, while trashing Christianity, seems to bend over backwards for other religions.) Of course, the non-secular side is standing up to hold on to a sense of social morality that they see lacking in Society today.

Second PRINCE CASPIAN Trailer Hits Net - Apr 23, 2008 - 03:58pm
people whine about christian allegory. Suck it up. It not like anyone twisted your arm and forced you to watch the movie. The allegory is sufficiently cloaked in the story that you could just ignore it. No one is forcing you to agree with the allegory if you understand it. No one is forcing you to convert and go to church. Complaining about protests against the Golden Compass: So people can bitch and whine about christian allegory, but Christians can't complain about direct attacks? Rather hypocritical. Anyhow, these are good stories and movies even aside from the Christian allegory.

McGowan is Still Set for Rodriguez's BARBARELLA? - Apr 12, 2008 - 06:13pm
Let me clarify. While I don't think Rose McGowen is ugly, I don't find her particularly interesting to look at. As others have said, she has the bored face of a gal that's been standing on street corners for 20 years. We all have our preferences. I for the life of me don't understand how people can bag on Kirsten Dunst and Jessica Alba. But to each their own. For me, Rose is going to be a bad Barbarella.

McGowan is Still Set for Rodriguez's BARBARELLA? - Apr 11, 2008 - 08:08pm
I agree, Rose is no the right person for this part. She's no Jane Fonda. I don't find Rose attractive at all.

McConaughey Is the New MAGNUM P.I? - Apr 03, 2008 - 10:36pm
This movie would best be done as a serious attempt at a movie version of the show. the show as it was had the comedy along ith story. Vince Vaughn is totally wrong for the part. Magnum's humor tended to be more sly and subtle. Vince is too much of a car salesman type in his delivery.

New Pics for HELLBOY II, Trailer Online - Apr 03, 2008 - 10:23pm
Prince Nuada looks like Igor from Van Helsing tho I know they are different actors.

Stan Lee and Disney Team for Three - Apr 02, 2008 - 05:45pm
maybe they are fixing the silly log-in bug between Maia.com and answerbag.com. When I read this article, I thought, 3 picture deal? They are feeling optimistic considering Stan Lee is getting pretty old.

Lundgren Returns to Perform for COMMAND - Mar 28, 2008 - 03:46am
His voice was all wrong for He-Man. He made a great Punnisher, tho he coulda had a better script.

No Zod, No Constantine and No FF 3 - Mar 28, 2008 - 03:44am
Superman just needs to not be a freakin' retread of a movie we already saw. Give us some action, give us a good story, and give us a believable Lois Lane.

Two Face Update for DARK KNIGHT - Mar 25, 2008 - 10:57pm
mckraken: Maybe i didn't articulate myself clearly enough. the masks by themselves don't seem gruesome to me. the way they were displayed, looking like eyeless corpses made it gruesome.

Two Face Update for DARK KNIGHT - Mar 25, 2008 - 05:40pm
I found the joker masks in the picture to be a bit gruesome given that they are based o9n the image of a now dead actor.

First Trailer for LOST BOYS 2 - Mar 13, 2008 - 06:30am
Boy, I miss the old days, the pre-buffy days, back when you could tell if someone was a vampire because they drank your blood. kids today have it so easy...they just look for the mutan brow ridges that pop up when the vamp is about to do something vamp-ish. While interesting and cool the first time we saw it, it's time to find a new gimmick. How about a movie about a british vampire suffering from Mad Cow disease cos he sucked one too many people that had Crutzfeld-Jacobs disease? Oh, and his best friend is suffering from syphillis from one too many visits to the brothel districts.

New Struzan Poster for INDY IV - Mar 10, 2008 - 12:27am
In that second poster, Shia does resemble a young Indy around the eyes and chin.

Kunis Helps Wahlberg in MAX PAYNE - Mar 10, 2008 - 12:25am
While I only played the first game, loved it. I hope the movie stays true to the ambiance of the game, which was a nice mix of film noir and horror (the nightmare sequences).

First HULK Teaser Trailer Online - Mar 07, 2008 - 09:29pm
Gauley, I'm surprised to hear you dislike something. Because you seem to like just about every crappy movie that gets made. :D I like the first Hulk for what it was. I'm sure this new one will be better.

First HULK Teaser Trailer Online - Mar 07, 2008 - 03:25pm
Yes, there were pictures a while back of the toys based on this movie. We saw both the Hulk and Abomination. I wish someone would tell studios that exclusively showing trailers on MTV sucks. Watching a trailer on MTV is like being forced to watch 10 hours straight of the teletubbies.

New INDY IV Chase Scene Revealed - Mar 07, 2008 - 03:10am
If that was any other man about to jump two russian soldiers with AK-47's, I'd say he'd be a dead doctor. But since it's Dr. Jones, I'd say those russkies are about to get one hell of a geriactric beating.

Snyder Reveals WATCHMEN Characters - Mar 06, 2008 - 03:58am
Wow... Not bad considering the comic book version looked like this... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Watchmencharacters.jpg

Sorvino Looking For LAST TEMPLAR - Mar 04, 2008 - 04:51pm
Its ok. I just didn't want everyone jumping on the he's an "offended christian" bandwagon, when that was the opposite of what I'd been saying all along. When in fact, I am a Christian who not not offended by these books that come out.

Sorvino Looking For LAST TEMPLAR - Mar 04, 2008 - 04:40pm
Can we stop making this about me? Please read my posts. I never said I was offended by the books or movies posted here. I was acknowledging that SOME may be offended. My comment, "No, I don't like my narrow boxed in world beliefs questioned." was not meant to be taken at face value. I was attempting, and apparently failing, to show that I can laugh at things. Since most anti-christian posts tend to stereotype Christians as close-minded. I've had my doubts about Christianity and religions. I may not have searched as indepth as most, but I found my answers, or at least the answers that work for me. People are free to consider the Bible as just another good book. Isn't it nice that we all have the freedom to choose what to believe in? Some believe in Xenu, others in an overwieght man who fell asleep under a tree, and some in nothing. At least people have choices. Lets try to respect each other's choice. that was one of the main ideas of Jesus, whether you view him as a man or a God. "Love your neighbor as yourself." You don't have to agree with others, but wouldn't the world be a nicer place if we tried to treat everyone with respect and dignity? yes, I know that is asking a lot in a comment section where the first instinct tis to flame and trash people. I've been guilty of that too. We'd get more out of these exchanges if we were more respectful. Anyhow, I recooment the Jack Whyte books. Very good stuff.

Stealth Mode Predator - Mar 04, 2008 - 04:23pm
umm... ...err... yes.... ...that's it. ...that's the ticket.

Stealth Mode Predator - Mar 04, 2008 - 12:08pm
Holy crap...Sonyman agreed with me? I gotta get my head examined. ;)

Sorvino Looking For LAST TEMPLAR - Mar 04, 2008 - 12:06pm
Yes, I am a Christian. But I did enjoy the Da Vinci Code for what it was. I didn't find it offensive. Incorrect according to my beliefs, but still an entertaining read. Again, I did not find Da Vinci Code offensive. Some may, however. Which is why the ending of The Last Templar would be less offensive. I didn't want to elaborate on why it would be less offensive as it would be a spoiler. I recommend Whyte's Templar series too. I read the first oneand it is a nice look at the Crusades and that era. Gave me a new look into that time period. Necroskippy: No, I don't like my narrow boxed in world beliefs questioned. But I've gotten used to it since the world is often populated by insensitive people who seem to look for opportunities to spit in someone's face. Of course, it never helps when people on all sides of any issue do the same thing.

Hasbro's New Transformers for 2008 - Mar 04, 2008 - 11:54am
I still have some G1 stuff in a box somewhere, most of it is unbroken. While I haven't bought anything recent, as the toys advanced, they got dumbed down. The early toys were fun to transform...like a puzzle. The newer ones were too simplistic, more like go-bots.

Sorvino Looking For LAST TEMPLAR - Mar 04, 2008 - 03:59am
This was a good book, rather interesting. Less cryptic than the Da Vinci Code, but full of the same adventure. The ending is less offensive.

Sneak Peek at SG1: Ark of Truth - Mar 03, 2008 - 11:45pm
Agreed. What made the show for me was the chemistry between the original 4 characters.

Stealth Mode Predator - Mar 03, 2008 - 11:40pm
Too bad its not a bit more see-through-able.

Hasbro's New Transformers for 2008 - Mar 03, 2008 - 11:39pm
They look like crap. I miss the good ol' days of the 80's when transformers were made out of die cast metal and plastic. When they didn't look like some over-bright hunk of plastic suitable for a preschooler.

Special Edition INDY DVDS May 13 - Mar 03, 2008 - 04:55pm
I've been burned enough by Star Wars. i have the first box set. I'm not rebuying them until the latest movie comes out.

LOST: The Constant - Mar 03, 2008 - 02:36am
I have a request for Mania.com. For those of us who don't watch Lost and don't care about it, it'd be nice if we didn't have to see an article about the show every freakin' day. And yes, I know I can ignore the articles, which I do.

Joker's Girlfriend, Superman Returns & Beyond! - Feb 29, 2008 - 04:27pm
Bring Singer back...as long as the writer come up with an original story. Don't just rehash the Donner movie. This is why Superman Returns won't be a classic. because it is practically a remake of the first Superman movie. I want a NEW superman movie with a new story. I'm not looking for wall-to-wall action. I wasnt a good story. We deserve a good story, not the crap we got. Only reason SR made so much money is the effects, watching Superman fly, save a plane, and lift an island. That's the only reason UI find myself rewatching it, certainly not for the lame story. I swear, if they use Lex Luthor again and all he's doing is some land-grab plot, I'm gonna scream.

Agent Zero & Barnell Revealed for WOLVERINE - Feb 22, 2008 - 08:29am
Cameos would be fine. But when the Gambit actor has a 3 picture deal and you don't cast an unknonw, but a name star like Monaghan for Beak, it makes me thing they won't just be cameos.

First Bloody Pic from LOST BOYS 2 - Feb 22, 2008 - 02:09am
You called it.

Agent Zero & Barnell Revealed for WOLVERINE - Feb 22, 2008 - 02:08am
I have no robem with the members of Weapon X showing up in the movie. Makes logical sense. I still object to Gambit being shoehorned into the movie. And while I like Dominic "Merry" Monaghan, I had to look up Beak on wikipedia. Dang, what a completely useless pointless character that has no business being in the movie. Only connection to Wolvie I saw in the wikipedia article is he ends up living in Wolverine's "shack" for a time.

WSJ Reveals TOY STORY 3 Plot? - Feb 21, 2008 - 02:22pm
TK: I have my VHS copies f the first two. I enjoyed them. I think they just waited too long to make a sequel. Best scene in either of the first two or me is the little green alien toys. "the claw is our maaaa-ster."

WSJ Reveals TOY STORY 3 Plot? - Feb 20, 2008 - 10:11pm
yah, 11 years is a long time. Will the original audience still care?

Three More Confirmed for WOLVERINE - Feb 20, 2008 - 04:56am
Tkay42one: True, but I hardly call objecting to Gambit's presence in a Wolverine origin movie nitpicking. X-men may not have had the original line up for the first movie, but at least they had X-men characters in it. Gambit just doesn't play a role in Wolverine's past. But I'll be seeing the movie and I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy it. I like Jackman as Wolverine, I think he gets the character. Tho I believe he was a bit too weepy in X3. I can see him crying over Jean, but not Professor X. Storm was less emotional at Xavier's death and her character has a stronger relationship with Xavier.

Snyder's Wrap Blog on WATCHMEN - Feb 20, 2008 - 03:31am
I read it for the first time back in college, 'round '89 or so. It had a different way of looking at Superheros...making them more human and having faults. I enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to seeing how it translates to film. So far the screenshots I've seen have the right ambiance.

Three More Confirmed for WOLVERINE - Feb 20, 2008 - 03:26am
I respect you old geezers...until ya piss me off. Fair enough? hehehe. Tho I've been a long time reader, only recently decided to inflict my fevered opinions on your unfortunate souls. As to the cameos, every character listed so far makes sense, except for Gambit. he doesn't need to be in this movie. Give him his own movie already so the Gambit-lovers can quit whining. But he has no business appearing in a Wolverine origin story since Wolvie doesn't meet him until AFTER Wolverine joined the X-men.
