True Blood Season 6 Plot Trailer

Are we back from the Jump the Shark point?

By Robert T. Trate     May 24, 2013
Source: HBO

A new spot have surfaced for the sixth season of True Blood. Check it out with the Season 6 trailer below. It looks as if the state of Louisiana has declared war on the Vampires. If the show has jumped the shark it might have just set it right again. Mania’s True Blood critic, Joel Rickenbach will return with reviews this June.

True Blood Season 6 features our usual staple of Vampires and Humans plus the addition of Rutger Hauer, Arliss Howard, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Amelia Rose Blaire, Karolina Wydra, and Luke Grimes.

True Blood premieres on Sunday, June 16 at 9PM, only on HBO.

This show jumped the shark halfway through Season 2.

Never in the history of television (or at least my 42 years of it) have I seen a great show dive so spectacularly into the crapper as "True Blood".

So wouldn't the fact that it's entering it's 6th season tell you that your opinion is on the minority side?

I love this show and will always be excited to see new episodes.  I thought season 2 was one of the best.

I missed last season when I dropped my cable, and haven't gotten around to finding it yet.  After season one, the differences between the novels and the series began to diverge significantly, but there was always a trace of it running throughout.  That looks to have changed with season six.  They don't appear to even be pretending to be based on the books anymore.

I love how the bad guys are painted to show how the Republicans would be if they got their way and went extremely right like they want to.  Brainwashing people with the mantra "God and Guns".  If they had it their way we'd be under a Theocratical plutocracy. Which would be the biggest oxymoron of them all.

Sadly you are correct, Wish. I am in the minority.
And for the record:

Jersey Shore (6 Seasons)
Keeping Up With the Kardashians (7 Seasons)
American Idol (12 Seasons and counting)
Everybody Loves Raymond (9 Seasons)
Survivor (26 Seasons and counting)
The Apprentice/Celebrity Apprentice (13 Seasons)

But please... Have a nice day! :)

there is a big difference between all those shows you mentioned from basic cable networks and True Blood being from HBO.  True Blood is an expensive show with a hard R rating, to make it 6 seasons means it is infinitely better than most of the shows you mentioned where the talent pool is mostly free and the viewership is as general as it gets.  Not much of a comparison I don't think.......

but same to you bro have a nice day!

Nice to see some divergent views on Mania.  Usually there are 20 comments saying ...this looks great, can't wait to see it.

There's no right or wrong.  Just different opinions.  TV shows and movies don't have to be good in order for us to love them.

Showtime had a series about a woman who was suffering with cancer (the name escapes me).  After watching several family members die from cancer (including my mother) there's no way I would watch that show, even if it were the best TV series on earth.  More often than not I watch TV shows and go to the movies to escape reality (sometimes shows like Shameless and Newroom are a little too real for my taste).

I often love silly things (like comic book superheroes battling monsters and super villains) or dumb things like Jersey Shore because I can check my brain at the door and give it a rest (it's better than meditation).

True Blood may be totally whacked out...but it could be just what the doctor ordered on a hot Sunday evening before returning to work the next day.
