Comic Book Games: The Progression of a Subgenre
Posted July 11, 2008 @ 01:31pm

To state that comic books are a fertile ground for the gaming medium is a painful understatement. The muscle bound, spandex clad pantheon of heroic archetypes that fill the pages of DC, Marvel and the lesser know publishing houses like Top Cow and Dark Ho... Read More

Dunst Says Yes to SPIDER-MAN 4 - Sep 30, 2008 - 01:27pm
Actually, Lohan isn't all that attractive and I also think she's a mediocre actress.

Dunst Says Yes to SPIDER-MAN 4 - Sep 30, 2008 - 11:50am
Spiderman 3 is one of the worst films I've sat through in the last two years. Not only was it incredibly lame, but the way they handled Venom was ridiculous and that whole Butler scene, where he gives Harry all of this information he couldn't possibly know, was some of the laziest writing/storytelling I've ever been privy to. And Tobey and Dunst were miscast from day one. Tobey is a doe-eyed, angst-ridden idiot who never understood the fun of the character and Dunst is neither sexy nor particularly likeable. Ryan Reynolds would have been a brilliant Spiderman because he's both funny and possess the physical attributes that Tobey sorely lacks. Personally, I think the only reason (other than money) that Dunst and Tobey are returning is because they feel marginalized by the success of the TDK. That film is not only a critical success but the second highest grossing movie of all time and at least one of the actors is getting an Oscar nod. TDK has completely eclipsed the success of the Spiderman film and I predict the 4th movie will probably hurt more than help.

DARK KNIGHT Hitting Theaters Again in January - Sep 12, 2008 - 09:41am
Poor little Loco; he feels marginalized by his dislike for TDK. Get used to it. Burton’s Batman films are shit by the way. They pretty much bastardize everything found in the mythology. Also, Ledger didn’t steal anything from Nicholson’s ham-fisted, ridiculous take on The Joker. Ledger actually did the character correctly, so much so that his performance will probably shape the way the character is portrayed in the comics from this point onwards. It was that good and that definitive and anybody who claims otherwise doesn’t know shit about the character. The rest of your post is drivel. Nolan has the kind of visionary talent seen perhaps once a generation; he took a genre and elevated it to a place that makes everything else look like kids’ stuff, including the overrated, overly praised Raimi Spidy flicks. Unfortunately, intelligent filmmaking irks unintelligent people, which is why you came out of that theater so upset. Your watching of the Dark Knight is the equivalent of giving a retard a Rubik’s Cube; they’ll be transfixed by the colors for a spell but the complexity will eventually anger and frustrate them. So go watch The Fantastic Four or the Dir. Cut of Daredevil and let the grown-ups keep talking about real cinema.
