GHOSTBUSTERS Getting a Call From Sony - Sep 05, 2008 - 01:50am
Yes Sir!!! I was already excited about the upcoming video game, now there's hope of a new movie??? One word - SWEET!! Sign me up quick. Looking forward to seeing a new Ghostbusters very soon, especially with the technology we have now it should be real....SWEET!!

Mark Millar Wants SUPERMAN Trilogy - Sep 03, 2008 - 12:13am
I'm sold! WB you need to let Millar helm the next Superman. He is clearly passionate about Superman, and that is exactly what we need. Someone this passionate, and very familar with the character, and knows exactly how to make the movie is own and deliver the greatest Superman film of our time. He has my vote. Almost everyone here seems to agree. PAY ATTENTION WB EXECS!!!!!

HANCOCK Hits DVD and Blu-Ray Thanksgiving - Sep 02, 2008 - 11:10am
"Hancock will arrive as a single standard DVD ($28.96), two-disc standard DVD and BD ($39.95)." WTF? $30 for a single DVD and $40 for 2d DVD and BD? Seriously?? Why the hell are they priced so high? Standard DVD's run no higher than $15, and BD I thought was around the $25. That's ridiculous! The movie was good but it wasn't no TDK. Hell, I wouldn't even dish out that kind of money for TDK, and that movie light years better than Hancock. Looks like I'll be waiting for Netflix to send this to me in the mail.

Lionsgate Unleashes New Poster for SAW V - Aug 28, 2008 - 07:43pm
I'm with you Hanso. No way will this be the last Saw. It will make just as much money as the previous installments, and we'll get another one next Halloween. Which I'm all for anyway because I enjoyed each film. Part 1 was still the best in the series, however I like the twists that each movie provides. I'm very interested in seeing how 5 will play out.

Comicscape: Warner Bros. Takes DC to the Movies - Aug 28, 2008 - 03:30pm
I agree with you MutantNinjaLoungeSinger. If WB were smart they would have used Smallville to re-launch Superman to the big screen. I like that idea. Smallville could have told the origin, his early days in Smallville for about 5 seasons, then they could have released a big screen version of Superman 2 years later with Welling as Clark/Superman. The big screen could have shown him putting on the tights for the first time, the first time he saved someone as Superman like the original Superman movie with Christopher Reeves. But WB messed up that potential plan when they allowed Miles Millar & Alfred Gough (great writers)to have Lex Luthor in Smallville as Clark's best friend. It started off wrong from the beginning. Granted, it is still one of my favorite shows and even though it created its own mythology over the years, I love the show and take it for what it is. Had awesome potential though setting up the grand stage for Welling to take over. I guess maybe no one over at Wb thought about that. It is way too late for them to create a Superman movie after Smallville ends. If they do a reboot, which I don't think they need to, but if they do, they should spend half the movie dealing with his origin and as Clark, coming up with his dual identity, and putting on the tights for the first time. Oh, and if we do get a reboot, Pa Kent should be in it as well.

Comicscape: Warner Bros. Takes DC to the Movies - Aug 27, 2008 - 07:29pm
What a great article! I agree, wholehartedly, with everything Kurt says. This Jeff Robinov guy seems to ahve a one track mind so hopefully he doesn't turn out to be the copy cat he's sounding like. No need in repeating what many are already saying, but he would be dead wrong to make each DC character "dark as the character allows" to make a good movie. Batman is a dark character. I seriously don't get why it's so hard for WB to get a clue. I would love to see each movie with the DC character as Kurt described it. As for Superman, I also agree there's no need for a reboot, but if that's the only way we'll get another Superman movie before I'm 50 (20 years from now) then i'm all for it. It just needs to be a kick ass movie. With the technology we have, and as much as I love Batman, a Superman movie should blow all other comic movies out the water! Sorry Hanso, I know "TDK Owns Son!", but there's no reason we shouldn't get a Superman movie that moves TDK down to the 3rd spot on the all time gross list. Superman is my all time favorite and in this day in age it is very, very sad that we can't get a kick ass Superman movie. We shouldn't need a reboot, we shouldn't need to change his origin in any shape or form. All it takes is research. Write something true to the character. Way more action. No General Zod, no land takeover Lex Luthor, I need a serious contender for Superman. What's so hard about that?

DVD Shopping Bag: What If the WGA Strike Never Happened? - Aug 26, 2008 - 09:56am
I AM THE TRUE WATCHER DAMMIT!!! Here's my "what if" - If the damn writers strike never happened, I'd most likely be getting goosebumps anticpating the 2nd season of Journeyman. That show was one of the best new shows last fall but the dumb asses over at NBC cancelled it. F'n Losers!!

Bernie Mac Passes Away at 50 - Aug 09, 2008 - 01:28pm
I remember the first time I ever saw Bernie Mac. It was when Def Comedy Jam first appeared on HBO back in the early 90's. He was an amazing comedian. Down right hilarious! We lost a great talent, and I imagine, a great man. Wish I would have had the honor of meeting him just once to tell him how great I thought he was. R.I.P. Mac. "Stir it like, muthafuckin' coffee" - Bernie Mac - Def Comedy Jam

Update: DARK KNIGHT Grabs Third Record - Jul 18, 2008 - 03:59pm
When I first heard about Heath Ledger being cast as The Joker, I really wasn't acceptable to the news. I mean, I thought Heath was a good actor, but I just didn't think he would be great as The Joker. Boy was I wrong. I saw the midnight show last night, and was just amazed at his performance. TDK, in my opinion, was far better than Batman Begins. I think everyone involved did a great job with this movie, especially Christopher Nolan for his vision and his directing. Definitely one of the greatest comic movies ever made. Possibly the best ever! The story was great, the action was intense, the acting was fantastic. I felt like a kid again watching this movie. Yea the movie is a little long but honestly, it's pretty fast paced and never lets up. I don't think TDK will have a problem breaking the record because of the length of the movie. It's a great ride! Can't wait to add this to my Blu Ray collection.

Justin Theroux Penning IRON MAN 2 - Jul 16, 2008 - 01:36am
I think that's kind of dumb on Marvel's part. Why not bring back the original script writers from the first movie when it was such a huge success? Perhaps money was the issue. Still, it's also dumb to me that that would have someone write a script when they have so far only one script under their belt? I mean I believe in giving people chances and all, but the expectations are so high already for IM2. Well, good luck Mr. Theroux. You're gonna need it!

SMALLVILLE: Sleeper - Apr 27, 2008 - 04:25pm
I'm just curious as to why there wasn't a review for "Descent", which in my opinion was one of the best episodes of the series. If I am making a mistake about that assumption, I apologize but it seems you only want to give a rating to the episodes you think are the worst. Which, this episode I would probably give a C to because there have been worse episodes than this one, but my point is, review all episodes instead of just the ones that gives you a reason to give the show bad press.

Remake Coming for SHORT CIRCUIT - Apr 04, 2008 - 10:25pm
Why is a remake of this movie necessary? It's not going to pull in more than 10 million opening weekend at the box office, so they must be shooting for a strait to dvd release. Still, who was the genius that sat in a meeting with the other stiffs that decided this would be a great movie to remake?? I'd rather see a Monopoly movie. At least that is SOMEWHAT original.

CBS Returning Shows & Info on Others. - Feb 13, 2008 - 07:52pm
Damn it!! People sure don't know a great thing when they have it do they!

CBS Returning Shows & Info on Others. - Feb 13, 2008 - 04:01pm
There's been no official word on one of my favorite new shows - Journeyman. Are we to assume that it has been cancelled? If so, NBC is pretty dumb because it is a great show!

Writers Strike Officially Ends - Feb 12, 2008 - 10:49pm
Finally!!!! Kudos to the writers for holding a strong front and getting whats owed to them. Now, when can we get a list of shows that will continue their current seasons??

WB Planning Tie-in Bonanza for SPEED RACER - Jan 26, 2008 - 09:29pm
Rated G? WTF?? I think I'll wait for the dvd release. Gonna be waaayyyy to many kiddies at the theater. What a let down.

Bat Battle: Who's The Best Movie Batman Ever? - Jan 11, 2008 - 10:28am
I'm surprised after reading these comments that no one mentioned this, and as far as I know shouldn't be a spoiler, but isn't HARVEY DENT in TDK?? Last I heard, he was going to be Two Face by the end of the movie... Also, as much as I enjoyed Batman and Batman Returns, killing off the villians made no sense to me. There could have been a better ending for both films rather than killing off the main villians. We should have been introduced to Arkam Asylam in the first Batman film. Not the third one. On that note, IMO, I'm very glad they decided to reboot the Batman franchise and disregard all the Batman movies. They were never true to the comic movies. Not even a little bit. Batman Begins had its flaws, but it showed me a TRUE origin Batman movie. I got to see how Batman began in a freaking movie! How cool is that?? Once again, I enjoyed all the previous Batman flicks, except for Batman and Robin, but Nolan hit it out the park with Batman Begins and judging from the trailers, TDK appears to confirm that we will finally have a sequel better than the original.

Bat Battle: Who's The Best Movie Batman Ever? - Jan 11, 2008 - 02:59am
I also agree with the rankings on this list, however, thorin02 has a point. If I had to choose between watching the 60's Batman movie versus Batman and Robin, hands down i'm choosing the 60s Batman movie. Batman and Robin is one of the worst movies ever filmed!

Routh Out of SUPERMAN Sequel? - Jan 04, 2008 - 03:56am
There was nothing wrong with Routh's portrayal of Clark/Superman in SR. I liked the movie, however, I do wish there was more action in it. When the first X-Men movie came out, I was really disappointed with it because I felt it lacked dialogue and the action was subpar. However, Singer knocked it out of the park with X2. I understood that he needed to introduce the X-men to another audience and establish the characters since it was the first movie. I saw him follow that same formula with SR, and I have no doubts that the Superman sequel will be tons better. The JLA movie needs a new director, and a new cast. No one, I repeat, NO ONE wants a JLA movie with teen drama actors, with the exception of Tom Welling being cast as Superman (IMO), IF, WB can't wait for the Batman Trilogy and Superman Trilogy (if we even get that), before launching JLA so that we can have Routh and Bales play Superman and Batman respectively. Or even a Superman/Batman movie like that easter egg inI Am Legend teased. WB really needs to start paying attention to what Marvel has done and currently doing wiith their movies, because they're getting the job done. If this news is true, replacing Routh for upcoming Superman flicks is a ahuge mistake. Look how long it took for him to be cast as Superman. It could be just as long of a wait for them to cast Superman for JLA.

NBC Orders Full Season for CHUCK & LIFE - Nov 27, 2007 - 03:03am
Great news!! Now if only we can get a full season order of Journeyman...

Christian Bale Cast in TERMINATOR SALVATION - Nov 22, 2007 - 02:45am
Wow....still not sold on McG being the dirctor, however Christian Bale being cast as John Connor will at least get me to the theater to check the movie out. It will be interesting to see who else will be cast in the movie alongside Bale.

McG Confirmed for TERMINATOR SALVATION - Nov 16, 2007 - 05:14pm
No...please God no. This can't be true. JS, this has to be some sort of April Fools joke coming very early. Are you serious!?? This movie is doomed...

Jason Returns on FRIDAY THE 13TH - Nov 16, 2007 - 01:58pm
Holy crap! How could I have forgotten about the Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash comic??? I'm gonna go and pick that up today. Thanks SONYMANswallows! And i'm being real sincere, no BS. I've been looking forward to that comic when I first heard about it, but forgot about it. So thanks for the reminder. Anyway, on to this new Friday The 13th flick. What they should do, and I remember someone saying this, combine Friday The 13th parts 1 thru 3, since 3 is when he finally got the mask, for this reimagining or remake or whatever. That way, Pamela (Jason's mom) will still be the original killer. So the movie should start off with Jason as a kid, and we (the movie going audience) gets to see exactly how he dies. We saw him get teased as a kid in Freddy Vs Jason, so they should grow on that a little bit more. Not too much though. Then, flash forward to Jason's mom Pamela going on a killing spree on the camp counselors as revenge for them letting her son die. Then flash forward to Jason doing some killings, and as the killings go on, we find out with along with whatever person is investing the new murders going on at the camp, that instead of being a copy cat killer, its actually Jason Vorhees, the son of Pamela Vorhees. I know my idea sounds like more of a thriller than a horror flick, but I kind of like the idea. Why not? It is a remake after all. Can't imagine what the writers came up with, but I just hope it isn't too campy. Freddy Vs Jason was campy, but it was supposed to be, and I loved it! But we're talking about a remake/reimagining or whatever, so as long as it doesn't turn out as bad as that Halloween reboot/remake, I'll be happy.

GHOSTBUSTERS Sequel Hits Consoles Next Year - Nov 15, 2007 - 06:09am
I'd rather have a CGI ghostbusters movie rather than a videogame that isn't gonna sell much. I'm sure i'll rent it to check it out, that is if it comes out on the PS2 because the new gen consoles are too rich for my pockets at the moment. I still say CGI movie. Anyone agree?

Columbus Short Rejects JLA Role - Oct 30, 2007 - 08:18pm
Too much popcorn for his taste??? WTF?? Samuel Jackson should bitch slap this guy for saying something like that. If Sam Jackson, who I think is a great actor and makes any movie worth seeing, can do Snakes on a Plane which is too much popcorn for anyone's taste, he could do JLA. He must not be a comic book guy because I can't imagine why anyone would turn down the chance to play a comic book hero. Forget about being typecast. If you have the acting chops you should be able to land any role you want. That's just stupidity. Granted, this movie has a lot of casting problems but to just turn a role down is just plain dumb.

Director Pegged for THE FLASH Spin-off - Oct 28, 2007 - 06:55am
I thought I read somewhere that The Flash in this new JLA pic (if it gets made) was Barry Allen, but this new director attached to The Flash spin off is saying that they are using Wally West, so how exactly is this gonna be a spin off of JLA?

Teresa Palmer Lands WONDER WOMAN Role? - Oct 26, 2007 - 06:26pm
Not a bad choice in Ali Landry. I'd take her over TP, but this is WW. Hands down. A lot of people will agree with me. http://www.imdb.com/gallery/granitz/3361/Events/3361/CharismaCa_Grant_5514707_400.jpg.html?hint=group

Teresa Palmer Lands WONDER WOMAN Role? - Oct 26, 2007 - 03:12pm
I sure do hope SOMEONE out there in WB land is reading these posts. Your casting choices suck!!! I need a new director, because I also don't think George Miller is a good choice to direct this movie, and we seriously need a new casting director as well. What's wrong with these people??

Teresa Palmer Lands WONDER WOMAN Role? - Oct 26, 2007 - 02:11am
She's a beautiful girl, but I think they could have continued the search for a better Wonder Woman. They are clearly rushing this movie, which is a very bad idea. *sigh* Looks like the new Batman movies (Batman Begins and The Dark Knight) are going to be the only DC comic turned movie that will be a sure hit. With the exception of Superman 1 and 2 with Christopher Reeve. Hopefully, we're all proven wrong and the movie turns out great, but what are the chances of that!

Mark Millar to Pitch SUPERMAN Sequel - Oct 23, 2007 - 02:10am
If Mark Millar's script gets greenlighted, maybe they should just call it "The Incredible Superman" since he's so eager to revamp this franchise. It sounds a lot like Hulk being revamped into The Incredible Hulk. I'm in so long as his revamp doesn't include Lex vs Superman. We have 5 Superman movies, and 4 out of 5 were Lex vs Superman, even though part 2 was mainly General Zod but Lex was still a factor. Give me a PG-13 Superman flick!!

Chris Pine is Kirk in STAR TREK - Oct 16, 2007 - 03:32am
Is William Shatner in this movie or not? Because he isn't in the cast list at the top and I haven't heard any mention of him being in the movie.

RAMBO Doesn't Go to Hell - Oct 16, 2007 - 03:30am
Good!! That new title those dumb ass execs came up with sucked ass. You can always tell when some kiss ass comes along and think he's knows something.

The New Look of CAPTAIN AMERICA - Oct 13, 2007 - 03:20pm
I like the new design as well. Almost seems like it's Big Boss from Metal Gear as Captail America with that gun and knife. Maybe this Cap will defeat some enemies using some good old fashioned Close Quarter Combat moves. haha. And I also think that is a blue stripe, which they should get rid of along with those stars on his shoulders. I think it's a tad much as well.

HITMAN Director Executed by Fox? - Oct 12, 2007 - 09:34pm
CLUE was and still is the SHIT in my book. A classic! Yeah I said it. A classic!! Mortal Kombat not only borrowed from Enter The Dragon (classic), it also borrowed from another one of my favorite flicks, Big Trouble In Little China (another classic in my opinion). Speaking of Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil was a far better movie based on a video game. I even think DOA: Dead or Alive was better than Mortal Kombat, but that could be because of the eye candy in the movie.

Tyrese Gibson For GREEN LANTERN in JLA? - Sep 28, 2007 - 02:07am
I like Tyrese, but I still say the part should go to J. August Richards. He'd play a better Jon Stewert in my opinion. Guess the actors they get all depends on the movie's budget.

JOURNEYMAN: Pilot - Sep 26, 2007 - 11:43pm
I also enjoyed this show and it the review should defiinitely be the very least a B, but this was a great start for a promising series. I think Monday nights on NBC will be the place to be with Chuck, Heroes, and Journyman. No other lineup on Monday nights will compete with this trio this season.

Update: Jessica Biel Out of WONDER WOMAN - Sep 25, 2007 - 12:47am
I'll take Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern if they take the Hal Jordan route. If they go with John Stewert as Green Lantern, I'd take J. August Richards (who played Charles Gunn on Angel). I think he'd be a great John Stewert. I might even like to see Brenan Fraiser as Superman. Tom Welling is out apparently and he was my first choice. Brendan Fraiser would be my 2nd choice. Unless they can find an unknown that can both act and has the mass of Superman, but that's doubtful. As for Wonder Woman, yeah she may be too old but I still would prefer Charisma Carpenter over anyone else. But, since they are going to spin off Wonder Woman, that's not an option. So, i'm not sure Jessica Biel is a good choice for Wonder Woman. However, she could prove me (and anyone who disagrees with this choice) wrong. There are only 2 options for Flash. Well 3, but Vince Vaughn is tool old for the part. So, that would leave Dane Cook and Ryan Reynolds. I say Ryan Reynolds. After he plays Flash, then he can go onto something more serious. But he has to be the person to play that part. I'm not sure who should play Batman, and definitely not sure who should play Aquaman. Those are my picks for the other roles though.

Aussie Victoria Hill Tries For JLA's WONDER WOMAN - Sep 24, 2007 - 07:35am
Charisma Carpenter has my vote for the role of Wonder Woman as well wessmith1966. I think she'd be great for the role however it's doubtful that she'd get it.

The Rock as CAPTAIN MARVEL or BLACK ADAM? - Sep 24, 2007 - 03:08am
I'd like to see The Rock play Captain Marvel, but he'd probably make a kick ass Black Adam. Hmmm....i'm kind of torn. Hell, why doesn't he just do what Eddie Murphy does and play multiple roles. Just play both characters! All jokes aside, I'd rather see him as the hero rather than the villian.

Aussie Victoria Hill Tries For JLA's WONDER WOMAN - Sep 24, 2007 - 03:03am
Very beautiful woman, but I say no as well. She seems to thin to be playing the role of an Amazon goddess.

New SUPERGIRL Trailer for Smallville - Sep 23, 2007 - 09:10pm
I'm really hoping it's a young Hal Jordan. Especially since we know for sure Green Arrow is coming back. It would be wicked cool if Green Arrow brought Green Lantern with him. Seriously though........when in the hell are they going to bring Pete back for a guest appearance?? It's been 3 seasons already!! WE WANT PETE! WE WANT PETE! :O)

RESIDENT EVIL Takes Top Spot - Sep 23, 2007 - 06:15pm
I agree metwater. Serenity was an excellent movie and I don't think it got the credit that it deserved. I do like the Resident Evil movies though, but perhaps that's because I am a fan of the video game series. It's no more disgusting than George Romero's zombie flicks are they? Shaun of the Dead was pretty gory itself, but I thought that movie was pretty good as well. I haven't had the chance to check out Extinction yet, but hopefully I will tonight. I enjoyed the first, and I'm sure i'll enjoy the new one, thus proving Merin's point. ;O)

New SUPERGIRL Trailer for Smallville - Sep 23, 2007 - 01:00am
Yeoman Lana will be back this season. I think around episode 3 or 4. Smallville is one of my favorite shows. Is it the best show ever? No. It is still entertaining though. And I'll be the first to admit that there are times where I wonder what some of the writers are thinking with certain episodes. And I already from the spoilers I read, there is already one episode I'm dreading to watch but will watch it anyway because i'm a fan, but it's the 3rd episode titled "Fierce". Sorry if i'm spoiling this for some people, but the epside is basically about Kara wanting to "fit in" and joins a beauty pagent. There are 3 female meteor freaks. So basically this episode will be like Miss Congeniality 2. This is a wasted episode in my opinion and I think they could have came up with something better, but every season of Smallville has at least 1 horrible episode. Like last years "Subterranean" episode. However, the show is still enjoyable and still watchable. Just gotta keep an open mind that it's separate from the movies and comics.

Tom Welling OUT of JLA Movie - Sep 22, 2007 - 09:36pm
I don't know about that Hanso. I don't Superman: Doomsday was better than Superman Returns. I mean don't get me wrong, Superman: Doomsday definitely had action, but it was emotionless. And it was supposed to be about the death of Superman. At no point did I get choked up about Superman's death. Superman Returns however had plenty of emotion, and I honestly felted a little choked up when the citizens up Metropolis were unsure if Superman was going to live or die. What it lacked was action. Throw these movies together and it would have made one hell of a Superman movie. Maybe that will happen when Man of Steel comes out. Oh wait, I forgot, it's been shelved. I'm kind of looking forward to JLA but at the same time i'm not. For the simple fact that Warner is pusing this as fast as they can. Pushing a movie out as fast as possible is never a good idea, and X3 is a perfect example of that.

Bruce Timm Answers on SUPERMAN:DOOMSDAY - Sep 19, 2007 - 01:18am
I bought this earlier, and just got done watching it. I really liked it a lot. The story was pretty cool, the acting was subpar for me. I like Adam Baldwin, but I would have preferred Tim Daly as Superman. Adam Baldwin made Clark Kent sound too nerdy for me. He isn't that much of a geek. The action was great! I'd give it a solid 8 out of 10. I am disappointed however that they strayed away from the comic storyline. I understand that it would have been a lot to cover in a 73 minute animated movie, howver it would have been cool to at least include a few other superheroes, at least cameos to see how they handled the loss. And lets not forget The Reign of the Supermen. I liked the clone concept, but would rather preferred seeing all of the Supermen like in the comic. Still enjoyable to watch however, and I would still buy it because i'm still a Superman fan.

Writers Reunite For FRIDAY THE 13TH - Sep 18, 2007 - 07:26pm
Jason X better than Transformers? That's debatable because everyone has their own opinion. I thought Transformers was pretty frickin' awesome and I will watch anything Shia LaBeaouf is featured in because he's a damn good actor. Transformers was definitely a family flick, popcorn movie. No doubt it could probably have been a lot betterhowever I was more than satisfied with the final product. Transformers 2 could only be better. While Jason X was watchable, well, because i'm TheWatcher and I pretty much watch anything and everything, however, I I'm just hoping that this new Friday The 13th is better. The plot of Jason X was just dumb to me. That's all. Of course, nowadays we all watch Jason, Freddy, Myers, Leatherface, and god forbid another Chucky movie for comedic kills if nothing else.

Writers Reunite For FRIDAY THE 13TH - Sep 18, 2007 - 01:40am
We all knew this was a matter of time. I enjoyed Freddy vs Jason for what it was, and being this new Friday The 13th consists of the same writers, I'm curious as to what the plot will be. Will it be any good? Probably not. All I ask is that it's better than Jason X.

FREDDY VS JASON VS ASH Hitting Comics Soon - Aug 13, 2007 - 10:06am
I remember when I first heard the possibility of a Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash movie. I was so disappointed that it was never made because I thought Freddy Vs Jason was a pretty decent flick. The mini series will definitely get my hard earned bucks and hopefully that will help push it to the big screen. I know there's enogh remakes and whatnot in Hollywood already, but I would really love to see a prequel to A Nightmare On Elm Street as well as Friday The 13th.

Helen Slater Confirmed For SMALLVILLE - Aug 07, 2007 - 09:28am
Oh yeah, she's still hot! Can't wait for the new season of Smallville to start. I read an article about this somewhere last week and i'm glad that the news has been confirmed. And I agree with ponyboy76. Hopefully she does ends up being Clarks Kryptonian mom so that they can address her instead of flashing her hand over his spaceship with a voiceover. I will not accept any episodes this season like Subterranean last season. With the characters they have now there's no reason why every episode should be a great one.

Raimi to Direct CLASH OF THE TITANS? - Aug 03, 2007 - 01:42am
Clash of the Titans is an awesome movie for its era, still enjoyable to watch and honestly, still one of my favorites that I can watch over and over again. I really hope this rumor turns out to be true. I would love to see a Spiderman 4 just as much as the next guy, but Raimi does need to work on other things. This movie would kick ass if Raimi directs it. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed!

McG Gets Three With Warner Bros - Aug 02, 2007 - 01:47pm
I'm sorry, he might be a cool person but as far as being a director...he sucks.

SUPERGIRL for Smallville Set - Jul 13, 2007 - 09:38am
ddiaz28 - I read an article online, an interview with Al Gough actually, and he stated that he would like to do one more season after 7 and then call it quits. Tom Welling I hear is contracted through 8 seasons so if Smallville is a success, which I'm sure it will be because it's the CW's longest running show now, we should be treated to series ending Season 8. With Supergirl joining the cast, the show should hopefully gain a little higher ratings but time will tell.

SUPERGIRL for Smallville Set - Jul 12, 2007 - 07:33pm
I don't think she'll pop up to help Clark fight Bazarro hanso. I think we'll just be treated to her arrival at the end of the season premiere and that's it. The 2nd epsiode of season 7 is titled "Kara", and part of the description is that she is looking for Kal-El and expecting him to be a baby, so she starts off looking for him at the hospital (very, very played out scene location) nursery, then looks for him as a toddler on the playgrounds. I initially said that I would have liked Kristen Bell to play the part, but this girl, Laura Vandervoort is absolutely , insanely gorgeous. I must visit Canada... I agree with daforce. Hopefully we are treated to a scene of her wearing a short short skirt! In all seriousness though, never seen her in act in her previous work, but looks wise, excellent casting. She perfectly fits the description of Kara/Supergirl. Looking forward to the new season starting up!

Sega Exec Demands PS3 Price Cut - Jul 05, 2007 - 10:09am
As much as I love the Sony PS and PSP, I REFUSE to buy a PS3 until the price is dropped to $450

Superman Sequel Update - Jul 03, 2007 - 09:44am
I remember how excited I was when I found out that X-Men was coming to the big screen, and I remember how disappointed I felt after seeing that movie. When X-Men 2 came out, I was really hoping that Singer would do a much better job than the first movie, and he hit it out the park. X-Men 2 is still the best out of the 3 and anyone who thinks X3 was the best of the 3 are crazy! I admit that the fighting sequences were great, but outside of that, that movie sucked!! My point is this, I realized that the reason Singer took the route he did with X-Men was because he not only had to try and satisfy legion of X-Men followers, he also had to introduce them to the rest of world who didn't even know who the X-Men were. And yes, there are people out there who didn't know! Once he introduced HIS vision of X-Men to the world, he took the movie to a way higher level than the first. X2 kicked ass and everyone knows it. Well, he did the same thing with Superman Returns. We assume that practically everyone has seen all of the original Superman flicks starring the late great Christopher Reeves. Well, we cannot assume that at all, because I don't think that's true. Singer had to create a Superman movie for the legions of Superman fans, as well as re-introduce the movie to a newer, younger generation that regrettably doesn't even know who Christopher Reeves is! So yes, he revisited some elements from the first film, i.e. Lex Luthor and his real estate scam. I admit that I was somewhat disappointed with the story, but that was until I put the pieces together after watching the Richard Donner cut of Superman II. The story of Superman II made a lot more sense to me. In the Richard Donner cut, Superman had sex with Lois BEFORE he decided to be human. In the Lester version, he had sex with Lois AFTER he gave up his powers. After seeing Donner's version, he made complete sense that his kid in SR had his powers. Now i'm not even going to begin trying to figure out why Lois could remember that she slept with Superman, but can't remember that he is Clark Kent. Kind of a dumb element, but back to my point at hand: Singer hit it out the park with X2 and I have complete faith that he will deliver with The Man of Steel in the summer of 2009! Just as long he doesn't bring Zod back in any shape or form... I completely agree with everyone that we need a new villian worthy of Superman.

Official SAW IV Cast & Synopsis Emerge - Jul 03, 2007 - 09:19am
If you go on imdb.com, they have Angus Macfayden set to reprise his role as Jeff. Strange thing is though, in Saw III they have his characters name as Jeff Reinhart but for Saw IV they are showing his name as Jeff Denlon. Kind of weird. May just be a type, or it could have something to do with the story. Kind of weird they would just change his last name all of a sudden, but fact of the matter is, he is definitely in Saw IV. But CappyMorgan is correct. So far the people left alive at the end of Saw saw their demise at the beginning of the very next film. Personally, I have enjoyed this now Halloween tradition and enjoy the stories and how each movie seems to revisit the ones before it, so I think this one will be good. But i'm just a watcher...i'm easily entertained!

Bale Talks DARK KNIGHT - Jun 27, 2007 - 10:20am
I'm gonna have to agree with Merin on this one. As long as they don't go backwards, (i.e. from Burton's Batman to Schuemacher's Batman & Robin) then I have no worries about The Dark Knight. I think Chris Nolan is the perfect director for Batman and I think he found the best actor to play Batman. Can't wait until this comes out next year!

AFI's GREATEST 100 Movies - Jun 25, 2007 - 03:27pm
Ok, I know i'm a little biased when it comes to this character, but seriously, why is Superman not on this list??

Jackson is FURY in Iron Man? - Jun 22, 2007 - 09:16am
It would really be nice if color didn't matter so much, *sigh* but everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Jackson is FURY in Iron Man? - Jun 21, 2007 - 04:36pm
"No I can't stop yellin', 'cuz that's how I talk! You ain't never seen my movies!! Juice? That was a good one. Deep Blue Sea!? They ate me! A f^@*!n' shark ate me!!" The more news that's reported about Iron Man the more and more I get excited about the release of this. And I agree with wessmith1966. An established Marvel Movie Universe would be awesome! They are setting the bar pretty high, and DC needs to follow suit! Especially if they want to do that Justice League Movie some "justice"! And you know it's in Sam Jackson's contract somewhere for every movie that he does (except Star Wars although he did give a look to Anakin like he wanted to say it) that he gets to say MF at least once!

Black is a MAN-WITCH - Jun 19, 2007 - 10:12am
After watching Nacho Libre, i'm not convinced Jack Black can carry a movie by himself. I had such high hopes for that movie only to be thoroughly disappointed. I won't make that mistake again. The idea sounds great, and could be a really funny movie. I hope he can prove me wrong and the movie turns out to be good at least.

Supergirl Moving to SMALLVILLE - Jun 12, 2007 - 06:50pm
To: themacallan007 Clearly, you are not a fan of Smallville, and that's ok because everyone is entitled to their opinion. But FYI - Krypto (or Super Dog as you called him) was already introduced in Season 4 in episode 4.14, which oddly enough was titled “Krypto”. Clark wanted to call him that, but I believe Lois thought it would be better to call him Shelby instead. Might have be ‘Ma Kent. Was it the best episode? Not even close. Could it have been better written? Absolutey! However it was still entertaining and fun to watch. Some people just don't seem to know what FUN is anymore. Why can't people have fun and enjoy this show and not take it so seriously? Yeah, I complain about some episodes because I feel they could have done it a whole lot better. Most notably, episodes like Subterranean & Static from season 6, I could have definitely lived without, and others like Justice and Noir I felt could have been way better, but I APPRECIATE the fact we even still have this show on the air, unlike all the reality BS that networks are so fixated on these days. You can't possibly tell me that you don't wanna tune in to see what little hottie they cast to play as Supergirl! Come on! You know you’re gonna watch the season 7 premier to satisfy that curiosity. And as annoying as Lana's character can be sometimes, Kristin Kreuk is still some good eye candy that gives plenty of guys toothaches. Allison Mack (Chloe) - eye candy! Erica Durance (Lois) - major eye candy! Whoever they cast as Supergirl - you can best believe will be the kind of eye candy to satisfy any sweet tooth! To: zack2366 This was from a previous post from #4 - tacid "The Kara from the third season of smallville was not the real one. She was a human given kryptonian powers and the name by Jor-El." Basically Jor-El tried to trick Clark into going away with Kara so that Jor-El could finish his training, but he ended up going away anyway.

Supergirl Moving to SMALLVILLE - Jun 12, 2007 - 01:32pm
Yea, I'm thinking Supergirl will appear towards the end of the episode to help cousin Clark deal with "Bizarro Clark", then we'll get the scoop about where she's been and where she came from in the 2nd episode. As for Chloe, I think she'll be awake by the half hour break of the episode. Maybe she'll wake up with a kiss from Jimmy a la "Sleeping Beauty". Martian Manhunter will appear to save Lionel from drowning. Lex will go to jail and Lana will reappear when he goes on trial for her murder, most likely to happen by the 3rd episode. Episode will more than likely be predictable, but, it should still kick ass!

Supergirl Moving to SMALLVILLE - Jun 12, 2007 - 09:59am
You said it Monkeyfoot.....Erica Durance is hot!!

Supergirl Moving to SMALLVILLE - Jun 12, 2007 - 09:44am
I have been a Smallville fan since the pilot episode and while not every episode has been the greatest, the show is still enjoyable to watch. I have always been a Superman fan and it doesn't bother me a single bit that it doesn't follow the comics or movie mytho's. It's just entertainment and I for one am glad that the show is back for a 7th season, and hopefully one more next season before they call it quits. Any ideas for the cast of Supergirl? I wouldn't mind seeing Kristen Bell playing Supergirl now that Veronica Mars is over, but that probably won't happen. They should bring Sarah Carter back to the show to play Supergirl. Nah, scratch that. That would be too weird since Clark hooked up with her previous character. Yeah, I got nothing. Anyone have any ideas?

THUNDERCATS is Puurrfect for Warners - Jun 06, 2007 - 02:40pm
Forgot to add my thoughts on the TV Shows/Cartoons already made into movies. I think I have forgotten about some of them, but here they are: The Dukes Of Hazzard (Not even Jessica Simpson in a bikini could have saved this disaster. Horrible! And had the nerve to make another one!!) Miami Vice (So much potential, but it just sucked!) Mission: Impossible (IMO – The only “successful” tv show to movie crossover The Simpsons (IMO – The only “successful” cartoon to movie crossover. I believe that!) Transformers (looking forward to it, and judging from the previews doesn’t look to be in any way disappointing!) Fat Albert (for a 6 year old, great movie. For the generation that grew up with it, can only watch it once, and that’s a tragedy…) Starsky and Hutch (not the greatest, could have done without Snoop Dogg as Huggy Bear, but I’ll support anything with “The Frat Pack”: Jack Black, Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Owen and Luke Wilson, and Steve Carrell) Dragnet (A young Dan Aykroyd and Tom Hanks, not a classic but still better than most) Charlie’s Angels (another one that had potential, and probably would have been a great franchise if not for MCG. He should stick to music videos because any movie/tv show he direct SUCKS!!!!) Lost In Space (enjoyed it when I was younger, but now that I watch it, campy) The Addams Family ( I like the first movie, not too fond of the 2nd one) Aeon Flux (Words cannot express my disappointment with this) Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course (I think Steve Irwin was a great man and educated the world on many levels, however, this movie was way beyond overboard) Super Mario Bros. - *shrugs shoulders* The Little Rascals (kind of funny, pretty true to the old “Our Gang” flicks. ) Bewitched (Another one I thought could have been good, but just down right awful. Will Ferrell did his best to save the movie with the little he had to work with but just an awful script) The Mod Squad (honestly, never saw it, but I know it tanked at the box office) Rocky and Bullwinkle *shrugs shoulders* Inspector Gadget (first one was OK, but we didn’t need a sequel) Masters of the Universe (This rocked as a kid because it was a live action He-Man movie! But then, after watching a few more times, I found myself disappointed because it didn’t follow the cartoon at all. Hopefully, the newer version will) The Naked Gun Series (Police Squad) – Three of my favorite slapstick comedies

THUNDERCATS is Puurrfect for Warners - Jun 06, 2007 - 02:22pm
I compiled a list of cartoon/TV Shows that have been made, one’s I’d like to see developed into a movie, and one’s I NEVER wanna see as a movie. And one’s I kinda don’t like the idea of, but yet curious enough to go and see it. Some will agree with these, most of them can be argued. But with the right director, the right script, they can work! TV Shows/Cartoons I’d like to see developed into a movie: The A-Team Hart To Hart Hawaii Five-O Six Million Dollar Man Pee Wee’s Playhouse (Or some other movie starring Pee Wee) Quantum Leap Voltron (the original 5 lion Voltron and not the crappy 15 vehicle Voltron) He-Man (more true to the original cartoon unlike Masters of the Universe, although I still like that one) G.I. Joe (would be awesome if it’s rated PG 13 or R) M.A.S.K. (This would rock as a live action movie and you know it!) Jonny Quest Alien Nation Seaquest The Soprano’s (Directed by Martin Scorsese, and ONLY Martin Scorsese) Bonanza (Kick ass western flick) TV Shows/Cartoons I NEVER want to see developed into a movie: Alf Teddy Ruxpin The Fall Guy The Greatest American Hero Hill Street Blues The Littles The Love Boat Gumby Dallas T.J. Hooker (sorry Shat) Go-Bots Turbo Teen Space Ghost Captain Planet The Adventures of Tin-Tin Battletoads C.H.I.P.s Bucky O’ Hare That Donkey Kong documentary Sex And The City (Enjoyed the series but a movie will not have that same magic) Flash Gordon I Dream Of Jeannie Welcome Back Kotter The White Shadow Spy Hunter (was looking forward to this up until recently) TV Shows/Cartoons I don’t necessarily want to see developed into a movie but will see to feed my curiosity: Buck Rogers In The 25th Century Thundercats (Sounds cheesy but I think it could work) The Smurfs (only if made by Pixar) Magnum P.I. Macgyver Fantasy Island (I just wanna see Eddie Murphy play “Tattoo”) Knight Rider Silver Hawks

Bello Replacement for Weisz in MUMMY 3 - May 14, 2007 - 10:44am
MetalWatero Hey...umm.....the character "Cypher" that appeared in The Matrix was played by Joe Pantoliano. Yeah, his character died in The Matrix and of course didn't appear in either of The Matrix sequels, so who are you speaking of exactly? Now if you were speaking of Tank, played by Marcus Chong, it was explained what happened to Tank in the discussion between "Link", played by Harold Perrineau (formerly Michael of "Lost") and Zee (played by Nona Gaye), the sister of Tank, that Tank died (somehow) somehwere between the end of The Matrix and the beginning of The Matrix Reloaded. Just an FYI As for Jennifer, Marty's girlfriend in Back To The Future, that recast was necessary. Claudia Wells, the actress that played Jennifer in the first movie, was unable to do the movie due to family problems. At least, that's what I read on wikipedia. Not the most reliable source, but it was either that or she wanted more money like Crispin. Bottom line though, sometimes a recast can work. One that sticks out in my mind is the character of Vivian Banks on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. In the 4th season, the role was recast and I personally think that Daphne Reid (who took over in the 4th season until the series end) was better at portraying the character than Janet Hubert_Whitten (who originated the role). That's just my personal opinion. Bottomline is, sometimes a recast can work. We just have to give the actors/actresses a chance before writing them off completely. I mean, they are getting paid for their talents right? And I don't think the studios wouldn't have given the role to Maria Bello if they didn't think she could do a good job.

Bryce on Gwen and SPIDER-MAN 3 - May 04, 2007 - 10:13am
I saw the midnight show last night, and I won't go into any details, but SM3 was awesome! Far superior than 1 and 2. And Bryce Dallas Howard was awesome as Gwen Stacy . . . not to mention HOT!!!

A Place - May 02, 2007 - 10:39am
nax37 Technically, GTA IV would be VIII. I believe you're leaving out Liberty City Stories as well as Vice City Stories. Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories are all prequels to GTA III, which is why they weren't introduced as GTA IV. GTA IV clearly takes place after the events of GTA III. In case you didn't know, the time line goes like this, Vice City Stories, Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories, GTA III, GTA IV.

Franco on SPIDER-MAN 3 & 4 - May 02, 2007 - 10:01am
I know I will absolutely love Spiderman 3 and will be my favorite of all 3 made thus far, however I know that I will feel really cheated with Venom. With that said, i'd like to SM4, 5 and 6. Why the hell not? I'd like to see a darker Spiderman movie made with the Venom/Carnage storyline for #4. Maybe even somehow throw in the Jackal to introduce the clone saga and a Spider-man Vs. Spiderman match. Then in #5, we get the lizard, Bruce Campbell as Mysterio, MJ gets pregnant, Peter wants to quit, Ben Reilly shows up as The Scarlet Spider, then it's revealed to be the clone Peter thought he defeated. Then in #6, Peter has quit as Spiderman to raise his child and we get Ben Reilly as the new Spiderman. The Green Goblin comes back. Ben dies, Peter takes over as Spidey once more to defeat an old nemesis. Just my idea, and maybe would or wouldn't work, but i'd love to see something like that. I think it would be awesome! Anyone like that idea?

"Crank" sequel on the way - Apr 30, 2007 - 09:45am
I like Jason Statham and will watch any movie he's in at least once, but Crank really sucked! It was a really good premise, but I think it could have been way better than it was. And how the hell will it pick up right where the the first one left off? Did he transfer that cocktail stuff over to Amy Smart's character when he did her (trying to be clean) in front of the entire Asian community? If that's the case, so in Crank 2 we'll see Amy Smart running around town loading up on energy drinks and adrenaline shots? Ha, I bet 'ol Jason pulls a parachute out of his butt, then when he hits the ground, he robs another liquor store of there red bulls and monters and scrambles to search for a cure. Yeah, real excited about this sequel! *yawn*

David Goyer will direct "Magneto" - Apr 28, 2007 - 07:46am
MetalWatero....I respect your opinion and all, and I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, there's no entertainment value in seeing a clumsy Batman in a comic book, let alone on the silver screen. Doesn't make sense to me. I'd never dish out $9 to see a clumsy superhero trying to work the "kinks" out. You'd may as well see "Blankman" at that point. Again, I respect your opinion, but there's just zero entertainment in that idea. Sorry....

Favreau and Downey talk "Iron Man" - Apr 27, 2007 - 04:18pm
If there's anyone that can pull off a nomination for a role based on a comic book character, it's Robert Downey Jr. Regardless of his past demons, he's a damn good actor. He even pulled off roles in those cheesy 80's flicks I enjoy so much. (Weird Science, Back To School, just to name a couple). He was hands down the best choice for this role. Remember back when Tom Cruise was wanting to play this role? Favreau made an excellent choice for Tony Stark, and i'm equally as excited as Terrance Howard being cast as Jim Rhodes. I can't wait for the release of this movie!

David Goyer will direct "Magneto" - Apr 27, 2007 - 09:57am
I'm sorry, but I didn't know Batman was a stand up comedian. Batman Begins was far from a bore fest. No doubt Spiderman has crushed Batman Begins at the box office, but the reason for that is Spiderman is a heck of a lot more kid friendly than Batman. Batman scares the crap out of most kids, plus, the parents of most kids won't allow their kids to see Batman because he is a dark character. If you want comedy in a Batman film, I would suggest Burton's Batman & Batman Return's, or Batman Forever. Granted, not everything was perfect about Batman Begins (Katie Holmes for example), however that film was much truer to the character than any of the other Batman flicks. As far as Magneto film goes, I agree. Nobody wants a Magneto film. I'm not so sure I even want a Wolverine flick. I want another X-Men movie. A good one! And David Goyer may not be the best director, but he is a decent writer. If it wasn't for Blade, a lot of these comic book movies we have been graciously blessed with woudn't have even been turned into a script, let alone actually filmed, because after that disaster flick Batman & Robin, these studios wouldn't think a comic book movie wouldn't work. Say want you want about Goyer, but he get's my respect.
