According to Latino Review, the leading contender for the role of Harvey Dent, aka Two Face, in the upcoming Batman film The Dark Knight is Aaron Eckhart (Thank You For Smoking).

The site also added another name to the current list of hopefuls up for the role recently vacated by Katie Holmes.  The name?  Maggie Gyllenhaal.  Rachel McAdams and Emily Blunt have also been named as in consideration for that role.

KJ's Take:  I'll tell you one thing, the people casting this film sure know what they are doing.  Honestly, every time someone new is mentioned I find myself going: Yes!@

Perfect. Aaron Eckhart is perfect for this role.

He'll do fine in the role. I still need to see Heath Ledger in character as the joker before I lay that one to rest though. Oh, and scientology whisked katie holmes away.

Great casting, if it's legit. He has really impressed me. Thankyou For Smoking was awesome. He needs to play Captain America...

Good choice here. I will not be happy if all these women being discusses are only being considered for the Dawes character. Screw her and give one of them the role of Harley Quinn. They'll actually get to show some acting ability in such a role, and they won't be nearly as useless. Rachel Dawes served a purpose in Begins, but now she is completely unnecessary.

Very true, O Holy One. Quinn would be a great addition, and I'd like to see one of the actresses named get totally unhinged to compliment Ledger's Joker.

This is a perfect hire. He's a great actor and looks professional and yet can be scary.

I thought Thank You for Smoking was rather blah, but NBC is making a show based off it.

But this sounds good to me casting wise. :)

It's too soon for Harley Quinn we don't need her . It's better to keep things old school with the classic BATMAN VS THE JOKER battle.

Id rather see Liev Scriber in the part of Dent. He's great in anything he does. Eckhart looks too much like Thomas Jane aka the Punisher.

I hope it's leading contender but only because Guy Pearce is taking too long to decide if he wants the role or not. Eckhart does look like the Punisher. He'll do a good job, but not better than Pearce. Plus he's worked with Nolan before.

I agree that it's too soon for Harley Quinn. Like I said before they can give her the role of Dr.Quinzel. A small part to introduce the character that will eventually become Quinn. Sort of like Dr. Connors in Spidey 2.
