There's nothing like real life quirky behavior inspiring Hollywood. Variety is reporting that producer-director J.J Abrams and Paramount Pictures have hatched a new movie idea, based around a particular New York home, which had hidden passages and secret panels. The family who lived in the home found clues, games and puzzles planted by the original architectural designer. The real life story was first published by NY Time's Penelope Green before Paramount bought the rights. Maya Forbes and Wally Wolodarsky will adapt the tale to screenplay while J.J. Abrams will produce the film via Bad Robot.
Plot Concept: Based around a Fifth Avenue home, described as a giant '20s-era co-op with Central Park views. The home was gutted several years ago at the behest of a couple, who later moved in with their four children. An architectural designer who oversaw the rehab job left behind a series of messages, games and treasures, unbeknownst to the family, who eventually unraveled a mystery that featured a poem, a book, a soundtrack and a host of historical figures.
