There's nothing like real life quirky behavior inspiring Hollywood. Variety is reporting that producer-director J.J Abrams and Paramount Pictures have hatched a new movie idea, based around a particular New York home, which had hidden passages and secret panels. The family who lived in the home found clues, games and puzzles planted by the original architectural designer. The real life story was first published by NY Time's Penelope Green before Paramount bought the rights. Maya Forbes and Wally Wolodarsky will adapt the tale to screenplay while J.J. Abrams will produce the film via Bad Robot.

Plot Concept: Based around a
Fifth Avenue home, described as a giant '20s-era co-op with Central Park views. The home was gutted several years ago at the behest of a couple, who later moved in with their four children. An architectural designer who oversaw the rehab job left behind a series of messages, games and treasures, unbeknownst to the family, who eventually unraveled a mystery that featured a poem, a book, a soundtrack and a host of historical figures.

This really doesn't sound like it's up JJ Abrams avenue...is he directing this in his sleep? It sounds like a family film.

Has sort of a National Treasure vibe IMO. Just have no interest in this, of course a nice trailer can always change my mind.

Yeah, I'm with you almostunbiased. Although it's a true story, I'm sure Abrams is going to put some Hollywood spin on it and have the children in a situation that drives them to solve the clues to either save some one from mortal danger or help their parents financially. Those two of Hollywood's favorites when it comes to these types of stories.
Although with Abrams doing it maybe the children will realize the houses is actually a giant starship and the clues were leading them to the control panels, or that the clues are warnings about a giant monster that is hybernating underneath them. LOL

you guys are clueless, the clues the kids solve obviously lead to The Island and straight to a room in Jacob's cabin.
