I may just see this for the nostalgia. Just because it seems a lot like E.T. is why I might check this out. I hope it's worth it. What if that thing running around is Santa Claus?

Nearly a month after showing off their first full-length trailer for J.J. Abrams' Super 8, Paramount Pictures has rolled out a new TV spot for the genre release. Watch it in the video player below. The thriller stars Kyle Chandler, Elle Fanning, Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich, Joel Courtney, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee, Zach Mills, Gabriel Basso and AJ Michalka. J.J. Abrams wrote and directed the tale while Steven Spielberg produced.
Plot Concept: In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.
Super 8 will roll into theaters June 10, 2011.

krathwardroid, I had the same "this kind of reminds me of E.T." thought. Seems like it might turn out to be pretty entertaining.
Looks good. Probably wait for a DVD release to watch though. Too many kick-butt movies to see in theaters this year. I do not know if it was the music of the trailer or what, but I get that whole E.T./Goonies feeling. Not a bad thing, just sayin'.
This looks pretty awesome and I think it would be a shame to wait for any of JJ's movies to come out on video as they've all been fantastic on the big screen - this looks to be the same.
I know JJ films are awesome in the theater! With Green Lantern, Thor, Capt America and several more coming out and I have a family of 4..... I have to make some sacrifices.
My top non-comic book film of the summer
Guys from collider and /film did a video blog from wondercon and they were completely raving about what they saw. They likened it to The Goonies to my surprise. Really looking forward to this
