Sherlock will return to PBS Masterpiece on Jan. 19 at 10 p.m.

Here is a great interactive trailer for the upcoming third series of Sherlock. The trailer is complete with answers to questions and new footage. The release dates are different for the US and the UK on the next series (season). Check out the info and trailer below. #SHERLOCKLIVES

'The Empty Hearse', will premiere on the BBC January 1st. However, here in the states, PBS has announced that they will air the return ofSherlock on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 10pm, following the 9pm broadcast of Downtown Abbey.

As for the BBC the other episodes of the series are as follows: “The BBC have also announced that episode 2, ‘The Sign Of Three' (written by Stephen Thompson), will air on Sunday January 5 and episode 3, 'His Last Vow' (written by Steven Moffat), will air on Sunday January 12. 12 days, three Sherlock episodes. It's going to be a bad fortnight in the ovary explosion department of your local A&E”.

The BBC was going to get to air the series premiere first. That much was expected. Now the ethical question and conflict is, do Americans wait for the PBS premiere or find it by any other means?

SYNOPSIS: Benedict Cumberbatch (The Hobbit: The Desolation of SmaugStar Trek Into Darkness) and Martin Freeman (The HobbitThe Office UK) return as Sherlock Holmes and John Watson in three new 90-minute episodes of the contemporary reinvention of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle classic, created by Steven Moffat (Doctor Who) and Mark Gatiss.

Usually BBC America airs these eps well in advance of PBS here in the States. Any word on those dates? Or will it be simulataneous with the BBC UK showings? I hate catching BBC material on PBS.
