Whilte on a set visit to JENNIFER'S BODY, ShockTillYouDrop.com (brother site of SuperHeroHype.com) had a chance to talk with actor Adam Brody about the JUSTICE LEAGUE movie.

Brody told STYD, in regards to the project ever moving forward, " I don't totally know, I know there was a tax credit thing and I know that the initial writers strike was a hindrance. I know they've got Batman coming out and Singer wants another Superman - this is only speculation on my part, no inside knowledge on this - but as a fan I can understand how there's controversy whether to try and build those, or building the franchise together. I think between the tax credit and I think... I think maybe it'll still happen. I truly don't know any more than you guys do.

In terms of playing the Flash, he revealed to the site "I know Ryan Reynolds was attached to the Flash for a while, then I got the part and I read on the internet 'Oh, he's no Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Renolds is the only Flash!'

When asked what superhero he'd want to play if he didn't play the Flash, Brody told STYD his "dream would always be to be Spider-Man. I always associated the most with Peter Parker. I could never be Batman obviously. I've always been jealous of Spider-Man."

If they're convinced that script was as good as they said, FUCK that tax credit and get the ball rolling, film it here or Canada. I would think that IronMan's success would help motivate them. The JLA is a brand that can't miss with a good story and I liked all I heard. If they decide to go Marvel's route I say get the next big guy on screen first, Green Lantern not WW, he should be the third wheel of the big three IMO. I don't think doing a JLA film first and then going with solo projects is a bad idea, you don't need to follow Marvel's blueprint.

Forget that...There is only one blueprint that needs to be followed here, dump this project into the toilet and pull the handle like you would with any other piece of sh t...

Wisedagangsta - I'm with you. Storywise the film had potential at least from what was being rumored about it. I don't even think this guy would be a bad flash but the problem that I've had with this since the beginning is the casting. You've got Bale, Downey Jr. Norton all good actors playing superheros in other franchises. That's what the WB needs to be focusing on when casting, get good actors and people that care about the project involved with it. Right now there are rumors of Thor being played by Pitt but the rumor to replace that fool who played Supes in SR is DJ Controna. That is the problem right there. WB needs to get their shit together in terms of casting. The story is there, the money will be there cause it's a 2 big of a project not to invest but the people involved is the key! They don't need to follow Marvel in terms of releasing 1 film for each character, they could just work backwards. Have the group film and then give Green Lantern, WW and Flash their own movie. They could have this movie done for release in 2010. 2011 the last batflick with bale/nolan. from 2012 on out they could release either GL, WW, Flash.

You're right about the casting, I guess I'm one of the few that was willing to overlook that just to finally get this project going. However they go about it they need to get to it, form a plan like Marvel or something. WB (DC) has some great characters that deserve the big screen treatment. I just don't understand their inability or indifference to get it done, damn it, they're a major studio.

i am somewhat torn on this movie while after recently being introduced to JLA via sonyman and our chicago connection, i want to see a movie but... i know brody actually has some chops but the rest of the cast is like huh? common should play a more prevalent and established character (as in he should be a superhero that is not just another in a line of heroes who share the same name/title).

At this point I don't care what happens with this project.

majorbludd • May 15, 2008, 01:03am •
I don't think he would be a bad choice for The Flash...

AzuLTaLoN, the thing is that John Stewart' Green Lantern is probably the most prevalent and established black superhero in the DC Universe. Sure there are some that have been around longer but Stewart has been in the mix and present in some of the biggest stories. That is unless you have him play someone else and change the character's race, then you know you'll have people protesting.

LMAO Ryan Reynolds IS Flash! Honestly, I think it is a stall tactic by WB/DC to observe Marvel's plan of action and copy their success or distance themselves from its (Dare I say it) potential Failure. So far, in this new era of comic movies, they are tied. Batman Begins was a hit, Iron Man is a hit. Superman Returns was like Hulk with mixed reviews and more dislikes than likes by the majority.

These are the next generation films, which are going to be involved in their respective universes with interaction with other characters. I don't count any of the previous attempts because they were not actually Marvel contorlled, whether they were great films or just so so. Whatever happens from this point forward will determine the fate of Comic movies for the next 20 years.

And what does it mean to be jealous of Spiderman? Where is Sonyman when you need him???
