Live Action Movie Review Death Note - Jun 03, 2008 - 08:38am
You're crazy MuensterJohnson!
Without giving away any spoilers, I thought the end of the anime was awesome! Although personally, I was hoping it would end the "other way".
Additionally, the first Live-Action movie is only part of the story. I believe it concludes in the second one.
DEATH NOTE Spin-off Hits NY Theaters in June - May 22, 2008 - 09:52am
I went and saw the Death Note screening last night!
While it wasn't as good as the anime, I thought it was really well done.
Rave Master Volume 1 - May 21, 2008 - 09:05am
Rave Master is such an awesome series!
I wish the anime had continued longer than only 51 episodes... :(
IRON MAN - May 06, 2008 - 09:38pm
I'm not even a fan of American comic books, but you guys have me all riled up to see it now...
BLOOD+ #1 - Mar 05, 2008 - 11:43am
I saw the movie and trailers for the anime look awesome.
I'll definitely be picking this one up. Plus, there's just something hot about a girl with an angry expression and a sword. ;)
DRAGONBALL Pushed to April 2009 - Mar 05, 2008 - 05:23am
almostunbiased,
If you're an anime fan, DB and it's follow-up DBZ (not the horrible garbage DBGT that came later) are classic anime series.
Some of the fights tend to carry on too long (looking at the Frieza saga DVDs on my shelf), but the storyline is pretty good and at over 400 episodes, it's hard not to get attached to at least one character by the end.
I highly recommend it, although I'd netflix it, so you don't end up with 100 Dragonball dvds on your shelf like me.

I totally agree with you, Dazzler. I care too because I'm trying to be optimistic.
In my eyes, this movie is going to go one of two ways: fantastic or the-biggest-pile-of-crap EVER!
NARUTO Volume 28 - Mar 04, 2008 - 11:14am
This is the manga, so dubbing it would be really weird!
But yes, this is the English version. It was released today in US bookstores.
NARUTO SHIPPUDEN - Feb 19, 2008 - 06:36am
For DBZ, I was thinking of the Garlic Jr. saga. From my understanding, that was 100% filler and IMHO very well done! Seeing Yamcha, Piccolo and others act demonic was pretty cool.
More importantly, I have to disagree with telling people not to watch the English version of Naruto. Personally, I watch 99% of my anime in Japanese, but I didn't think Naruto was that bad. Obviously the original Jap. is my preference and the characters have a lot more emotion than their English counterparts, but as far as dubs go: Naruto ain't that bad!
Also, I want VIZ to be able to make as much money as possible! I'm still hoping that one of these days they'll bring over Hunter x Hunter (one of the best anime ever made). That show is one of the very few missing from my "favorite" DVD rack next to Naruto, Bleach and Hajime no Ippo. :)

"Space Jam" is fair to knock - but "Kindergarten Cop" WAS awesome. I'm with Whiskeymovie - it's been the source of one-liners throughout my life:
"Boys have a ... girls have a ..."
"I am a cop you idiot!!!"
and the always classic:
"It's not a tumor!"

vichussmith,
Don't discount filler in ALL anime just because Naruto doesn't have very good writers!
The upcoming filler in the Naruto series (in English) is really some of the worst of any series I've seen (and I've seen a lot). With all the great characters in the show, you would think that they could come up with something spectacular - but it's extremely boring and usually focused around the same cast of characters.
Shows like Bleach, One Piece and Dragonball Z have really well done filler eps or entire arcs that add something to the storyline (at least for those of us that don't read the manga).
NARUTO SHIPPUDEN - Feb 18, 2008 - 03:41am
Correction on the Bingo Book noted and fixed. I guess I just don't know what else I would do as a strong ninja with a list of my enemies photos, names and skillsets. Hence, the need for assassinations... :)
As for the "showdown" that the flashed forward to - I'm still not convinced this was beneficial to the overall storyline. It was a great scene, for sure - especially after one and a half years of those awful filler eps, but looking back, I still think they might have given too much away. I do see the references to "history repeating itself" - since it's hard not to with the producers constantly flashing those references down our throats.
Additionally, I like Sai as a character, but the halter-top look really isn't doing much for him. Personally, I think that shirt makes him a good guy. It's hard to look evil when showing off your well-toned midriff.
