ADV Films Announces Innocent Venus Cast List

Date: Wednesday, June 20, 2007

Innocent Venus

The year is 2035. Twenty-five years ago hyper-hurricanes devastated the planet, killing billions, destroying the world economy and leaving North America, Russia and Northern Europe encased in ice. Japan has achieved a limited recovery through Powered Assist Technology. But that is limited to the ruling class, or "Logos." The poor have been dubbed "Revinus" and are barred from the cities. It is an uneasy situation. In the midst of this, two members of the elite combat squad Phantom have deserted after snatching Sana Nobuto " code name "Venus." Sana is very important and THEY want her back. But what is so special about Sana, why did Joe and Jin grab her, and who are the good guys anyway?

VITAL INFO:

ADR Director: Don Rush

Translator: JN Productions

ADR Script: Don Rush

CHARACTERS:

Sana Nobuto - Voiced by Jessica Boone - A girl of 14 who looks and acts much younger, Sana is a mystery. She knows she can play the piano, but doesn't remember why. The outside world seems completely new to her. And it seems like everyone is after her. She's grown very attached to Jin and finds Joe scary. But what makes her "Venus" is unknown.

Joe Katsuragi - Voiced by Chris Patton - A young dark-haired man of few words and absolutely deadly combat abilities. Unarmed, in a Light Warrior suit, or piloting his Gladiotor mech, this Phantom deserter takes out the enemy with alarming ease. When he's done piloting, tears stream down his face, something he regards as almost like a side-effect.

Jin Tsurusawa - Voiced by Vic Mignogna - With his pale skin and white hair, Jin is quite a contrast to Joe. Another Phantom deserter, it seems Jin is the one who masterminded Sana's rescue. Jin is charming (Sana adores him) and also a skilled warrior (with his own Gladiator unit), but his motives for taking Sana are a mystery.

Gora - Voiced by Greg Ayres - A teenage street rat. He's been hired by Jin as a guide, and he does know his stuff, but his mercenary nature (cultivated by years in Revinus) makes his loyalty suspect.

Drake - Voiced by John Swasey - The commander of the elite unit Phantom, this scarred man is a cipher. The unit he commands is the most skilled in the nation, but feared, not respected. Several in the government actively work to undermine his plans. Whatever they are.

Renée Vikro - Voiced by Monica Rial - Vice-Commander of Phantom, Renée seems as cold hearted as they come. She can bluff terrorists without breaking a sweat or plan an operation with deadly efficiency, and her sharp-shooting skills let her pick off targets from great distances. There is something odd about her relationships with other members of Phantom, both past and present.

Steve - Voiced by John Gremillion - Other than the commander and the vice-commander, Steve has been with Phantom the longest. While his bald head and facial tattoo make him stand out, he still looks normal next to the remaining Phantom troops. Steve does not approve of the bloodthirsty attitudes and feels that Phantom has degenerated.

Qing Lang - Voiced by Nomed Kaerf - The youngest member of Phantom, Qing Lang likes to use tarot cards for close quarters combat. He derives a devilish glee from reading fortunes before a mission... and telling soon to be victims that their fortune is death.

Kyoushiro - Voiced by Josh Grelle - His name derives from a Japanese word meaning "dying insane," and that is probably what he is going to do. He has a fondness for knives, to the point of licking them with his freakishly long tongue. Not a nice guy.

Riki " Voiced by Chris Ayres - The final current member of Phantom, Riki is a huge tank-like man and just as fearsome a soldier as his comrades. He has some surprising bouts of common sense though.

Toraji Shiba - Voiced by Illich Guardiola - The flashy and over-the-top leader of the pirates and captain of the Ishin. He wears the most amazing pirate garb. And a kimono tied the wrong way. He's got a past connection to Phantom and knows way more than he's letting on.

Hijin - Voiced by Alice Fulks - Shiba's second in command, she's a tough looking woman who means business. But that doesn't mean that she can't be polite to guests. Shiba has an annoying habit of calling her "Oryo" and her corrections are to no avail.
