Date: Friday, September 05, 2003VITAL INFO:
Director: Don Rush
ADR Script: Mike Yantosca
Studio: IS&M
CHARACTERS:
Sasshi (Satoshi) Imamiya - Luci Christian - a precocious 12-year-old boy. He's quite the geek (or otaku), whose various interests include sci-fi, dinosaurs, RPGs, guns, and dating simulation games. He's very hyper, talks a lot, talks very fast, but he's also rather dorky.
Arumi Asahina - Jessica Boone - a precocious 12-year-old girl. Sasshi's best friend and classmate, they've pretty much grown up together. She speaks in an Osaka dialect almost exclusively. She is a sensible and pragmatic kid, who plays the straight man to Sasshi's antics, often smacking him for making stupid comments. She talks fast in the way that chatty girls do, but she is not nearly as hyper as Sasshi.
Sayaka Imamiya - Monica Rial - Sasshi's older teenage sister. She speaks almost exclusively in standard Japanese, separating herself from her less sophisticated origins by doing so. Somewhat of a typical gal (kogal) type, who is also into all sorts of forms of fortune-telling.
Arata Imamiya - John Swasey - Sasshi's father. He speaks in Osaka dialect. A somewhat taciturn and strict-looking character.
Ms. Aki - Jason Douglas - a neighborhood cross-dresser. He speaks in Osaka dialect. He is very obviously a man, but dresses in women's clothing and wears makeup. He seems the type who would work at one of those kinds of bars, though they never go into his actual profession. The kids are friends with him.
Kouhei - John Gremillion - a shopkeeper in the shopping arcade. He speaks in Osaka dialect. Slightly rough around the edges, but boisterously friendly. Another one of the kids' friends.
Mitsuyo Imamiya - Kira Vincent Davis - Sasshi's mother. She speaks in the Osaka dialect. A fairly normal housewifely character.
Taro Imamiya - Mike MacRae - Sasshi's grandfather. He speaks in Osaka dialect. A rather calm, almost bland and typical grandfather type character.
Eutus - Chris Patton - a strange man the kids encounter in the alternate Abenobashi Shopping Arcades. He speaks standard Japanese. A fairly normal man, who hates being called "Mister" due to the implied age range and prefers to be called "Bro". He sounds somewhat like a know-it-all (sort of because he is).
Mune-mune - Kaytha Coker - the funky young lady (late teens, early 20s) the kids encounter in the alternate Abenobashi Shopping Arcades. She speaks standard Japanese, though she tends to add a certain cute attitude onto it. She is very well-endowed. She tends to be very cheerful and somewhat bubbly.
Tetsu Asahina - Jay Hickman - Arumi's father. He speaks in Osaka dialect with a silly French twist. He studied French cooking in France and tends to sprinkle his speech with outrageously pronounced French words. He has received an offer from a hotel in Hokkaido to run their French restaurant and is at odds with Masayoshi, his father, over moving there.
Masayoshi Asahina (Grandpa Masa) - Andy McAvin - Arumi's grandfather. He speaks in Osaka dialect. A rather grumpy and stubborn old man, who does not want to leave Abenobashi and Grill Pelican, which he started.
Ayako Asahina - Allison Sumrall - Arumi's mother. She speaks in Osaka dialect. Another fairly normal housewifely character, though a bit more assertive.
