Adventures of Mini Goddess Vol. #1

As a big fan of the Ah! My Goddess series, it's great to see this little favourite of mine being release. No sooner than my copy arrived, I sat down and watch all 12 episodes on the disc without much thought. What is shown was something that puts a big grin on my face yet at the same time feeling a bit shallow once all the episodes finished.
As I'm writing this review I'm thinking how to summarise all 12 episodes. I think I'll skip them because with my style of reviewing, it would probably kill the humour in this series. However I would like to comment on some of the ones I found too funny. The episode where poor Gan-chan has put on some weight and ask the 2 goddesses for some help is fun. I dunno what is more funnier, seeing Gan-chan looking fat (and sorta cute), or the methods the goddesses employ. But the biggest laugh I got out of the entire disc was the "battle" between Gabira and Mecha-Gabira. Talk about unexpected at the end of the episode. It had me in stitches after that.
The video presented here is absolutely gorgeous. There's no noticeable flaw that my eye can see on my setup.
The audio comes out sounding great with all the dialogue coming out of the center speaker and the rest of the speakers filled with the music. What else can I say?
The only extras here are a short description of Belldandy and an art gallery fill with Belldandy in here mini size. But I wonder, since this disc is know as the Gan-chan files, shouldn't we get a short description of Gan-chan and an art gallery fill with him instead?
The dub so far impresses. All the voices for the goddesses fit their roles just right. Hands down to Wendee Lee for playing Urd. She just has the right enthusiasm needed for the zaniness of Urd. However Gan-chan seemed alright but his enthusiasm, lack for a better word, pales in comparison to the great Mitsuo Iwata!!
By the end of it, it all really depends on how you take the show. This show is really a comedy and there is nothing much other than that. However watch the episodes in moderation, and not sit thru the whole thing in one shot. You might find it draining and lacking because of that. Still I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good laugh now and then.
