Affleck Closing In On DAREDEVIL

Confirming rumors that Ben Affleck had been approached to take on the title role in the DAREDEVIL movie, word comes that he's closing in on the part.

According to Variety, some final details remain to be worked out in a deal that will net the actor a salary in the eight-figure range.

Previously, Vin Diesel had been offered the role of the Marvel Comics hero, but chose to pass taking the PITCH BLACK sequel, THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK, instead.

Current plans, according to the trade, are for the $50M production to ramp up early next year in Vancouver, though the film's producer, Bernie Williams, had previously been quoted saying that the film had a solid November 19th start.

Pending the signing, Affleck will shift over to the film after his work in Revolution's GIGLI.
