After Dark Sets Two Horror Films

After Dark Films will produce and distribute the horror films FAITHLESS and PERKINS' 14, marking the first time the genre outfit will produce films to be released as part of its 8 Films to Die For series for the next After Dark Horrorfest.

FAITHLESS centers on a young woman who thinks she is leaving her abusive life behind when she moves to Atlanta and ends up living at her family farm. She quickly learns that abuse comes in even crueler forms.

Stewart Hopewell will direct.  Hopewell wrote the script with Tim Long. Chris Milburn, Matthew Kuipers, Aimee Barth and Eryl Cochran Woodlief will produce. Beau J. Genot and After Dark's Courtney Solomon, Laura Ivey & Stephanie Caleb will executive produce.

PERKINS' 14, based on a pitch by Jeremy Donaldson, revolves around the arrest of a suspected murderer and the bloodshed that follows. Lane Shadgett wrote the script. Craig Singer will direct.  Chris Milburn, Jeremy Donaldson and Matthew Kuipers will produce. Beau J. Genot and After Dark's Courtney Solomon, Laura Ivey & Stephanie Caleb will executive produce.

Both films will shoot consecutively in Romania starting in May.

After then first year I thought for sure they would cancel this event. After the second year I just don't know how they're keeping it going. All the ones I've seen have been trash IMO and you can clearly see why they didn't get a wide distribution deal. They should all be straight to dvd. And when I see the 8 Films to die for logo on dvds I know to steer clear of it.

People like B movies. Its quick turn off your brain entertainment. As they likely get these cheap they probably spend most of their money on some cheaper commercial deals.

Though I think it would be cooler if they took got permission to re-release some classic horror movies from various decades and do that instead.

Fallensbane, I agree. I haven't seen any of the 8 film series (not a big horror fan),but people do enjoy a cheaply made horror flick for the yucks. I did as a kid. The big success of SCI-FI channel's Saturday night monster films is an example. They churn out these low budget movies and get great ratings for them.
